Panache Sport » Non Wired Sports Bra (7341) » 30DD 30:5
Issue resolved
I ordered the 30E, as per advice, and it fit perfectly! Thanks!
Original problem
Updating: Thanks everyone for your help! I am ordering a 30E and will compare!
This is my first time searching for a sports bra that actually fits. I do high impact workouts regularly—lots of jumping. Online advice says a sports bra should totally cover the top of the breasts to give proper support and avoid stretching Cooper’s ligaments during rigorous movement. This bra is comfortable, but I can’t figure out if it provides enough coverage up top. The straps and band fit great, but as you can see in the pictures there is cleavage visible when I look straight down or bend over, and when I jump I can see a strip of flesh rising over the top of the bra. Maybe that's normal and unavoidable? There is no pressure and no digging in (and no quadding, unless I bend way over, as in the photo)—but the bra doesn’t lie flat against my chest at the top, as you can see. I don’t know enough about fitting sports bras to determine whether this is a problem.
I am also wondering whether breasts should be held together like this in a properly fitting encapsulation bra. They are definitely snug together—the gore does not separate them.
I have tried the same bra in 32DD and the cup was too loose in places. In that size, there was more movement within the cup when I jumped--it was just hidden by the additional fabric.

helpfulWelcome Keough ! This is a nonwired bra (unless you accidentally entered it under the wrong heading? There are two Panache Sports model, one with underwire and one without). So this means the bra is not designed to have a tacking gore. The underwires of a wired bra need to tack to your body to support the weight of the breasts--that's the design principle behind underwires. But without wires, there is no reason for that part of the bra to touch your body.
This being said, if you really need a bra for high-impact sports, yes, I would advise you to size up by 1 cup as the uncontained breast tissue that you can see above the edge of the bra means you're not getting maximum support in this size. This means you need 30E (same band length, larger cup) not 32DD like the one you tried previously. That one was likely too loose in the band, which is also bad news for support.

Thank you both! I will try 30E. Yes, this is the non-wired version.

No tons of people think they need nonwireds to tack as well. It's not always clearly addressed "in the literature" so to speak ;-)

helpfulI use Lynx and they’re very helpful with sizing issues. I still have to hold myself doing jumping jacks or tut kickers but I comfortably wore it for a half-marathon

helpfulThe 30E should be perfect. A 32DD would obviously have a band and back too large for you ,but the 30E will cover you and correctly encapsulate your tissue. The encapsulation sports bra is supposed to separate the breasts and not cause mono-boob. Otherwise, unless you feel your breasts moving you should be fine.

helpfulI have this one as well, and since it's the non-wired one don't worry about the gore not tacking. A sports bra like this is meant to comfortably squish your boobs in place so they dont flop about while you excersize. I wouldn't worry about the cleavage unless you feel like the space for the breasts in the bra isn't adequate. That being said you can always size up or down in cup volume depending on what you feel will be right! My regular size is a 28F/30E and so my Panache Sports is in 30E. I have one question though: Can you put it on by yourself? Because for me the band is so tight and the hooks so many, I have to make my partner help me squeeze into it. x)

lunarmonarchy I fasten it in front, then spin it around and pull it up and it goes on fine!
