Issue resolved
Am going to try different size- 32dd. Also, cleo wires may just be too stiff for me.
Original problem
****New pics added****
I uploaded pic 4 -- top view.Pics 3-5 are with the band fastened on tightest hook. THis was extremely uncomfortable, but I did it because the bottom of the gore doesnt completely tack. I think it's an issue w my ribcage because I can never get a gore to tack.
Would you suggest a 32dd? I am afraid 32d would be too small for L cup
*************************
THis is my first post, so bear with me..I am trying to find a comfortable bra that fits. comfort is key; i hate scratchy lace, digging wires, too tight bands. on the sensitive side.
I love the materials and want to love this bra. Unfortunately, the gore cuts into my sternum/is painful. The band is on the loosest hook. The straps also feel too tight/ I cant get them as long as I want to. I am frequently having that problem w/30 bands; I am 5'7" so on taller side.
Overall, it just feels like it is too snug/small, even though it looks good (to me). Kind of like the cups are too narrow. I love the shape and lift, though.
I have always worn a 32dd and recently have been tryinng 30ddd/e.
Bratabase fit calc told me I'm a 32D. I may not be measuring breast perimeter accurately. 'Bra that fits' says 30E/d3, which was what I was fitted into in Nordstroms. 30 bands tend to feel a bit too tight/straps too short, while 32s fit comfortably on the tightest hook (and then stretch out).
This was part of a order of a bunch of cleo (and one freya) bra, all 30E. I may post pics/ fitting help requests if you guys think I should.
Basically, I was spoiled by years of VS stretchy 32 bands and the soft material. I love the feel of soft microfiber and hate the feel of most lace (although I loved the feel of hettie).
I would love to find a soft/comfortable bra (ideally t shirt) that is good for FOT, center full, immediately projected (as far as I have determined) boobs with long enough straps and a snug but comfy band. I dont think it exists, lol.
Reviews of other Cleos in 30E (DDD)
Marcie- wires felt too snug/it felt too small/constricting despite looking good overall. I am guessing c ups might be too narrow.
Kayla- band is the stretchiest and most comfortable. Gore cuts into sternum and hurts. R cup is a little too big. Feels like cups are too narrow/constricting.
minnie- wires feel like the dig in and are somewhat scrachy. cups feel too narrow. L cup too small. Straps feel too short
freya rio- cups too big. didnt like material. a no.

helpfulYou are definitely going to want to look at stretched band measurements when you order a bra. Cleo/Panache bras tend to run pretty tight in the band. I would suggest buying 32 bands if your going with Cleo/Panache and down a cup. You will find yourself much more comfortable. Not all women can deal with a band close to their tight measurement.
It honestly looks to me like your wearing the bra too low on your torso. When you put on a brs make sure you push the under wires under your breast and up to your IMF. I can clearly see your breast root and the fabric of the bra pressed against your ribcage under your breast instead if the wire being directly under the breast It really doesn't look like these wires are too wide for you.
I agree that you are immediately projected, but you will most likely not find moulded cup bra to accommodate this. I also looks like you are quite short rooted.
This is what your shape looks like to me: projected, short roots, average width roots, even fullness and low set breasts.
You could try bending the gore away from you body, I'm pretty sure they're digging in because you're wearing the bra too low and IMO, Cleo Gore's are pretty firm.
I think you should look into Wacoal/b'temptd (cups run a bit large in wacoal, although you will find they do not have much projection, but they are really comfy), Fantasie bras are notoriously comfy and have great fabrics, the cups sometimes run big too, Comexim is also big on comfort with soft wires although they may be too narrow for you, and I also think you should try Hiedi Klum Intimates as from what I've read their bras are quite luxe and comfy feeling. I've only personally tried Cleo, Fantasie and Comexim.
I hope someone comes along with better recommendations for a projected, low set, short rooted gal like yourself that is in between a 30 & 32 band.P.S. Freya Rio, and many other non-padded models run large in the cup but have nice stretchy bands.

helpfulI definitely want to say that Cleo bras tend to be 'cheap' - scratchy, narrow bands. I dont know about the strap length but its a common problem for taller women. I also want to point out that you look very firm-bodied - women with less squish tend to need a bra that stretched to their loose ribcage rather than comfortable ribcage measurement. but i know nothing in your size range, sorry

helpfulI think you may be too projected for this bra, and therefore it's sitting too low on your imf. This may also cause the wires to seem too narrow. I thought I was shallow for a long time and have had this issue with bras that were too shallow. I agree that you're probably more comfortable in a 32 band. I also hate bands that are too narrow. I'm finding a 30 to be most comfortable for my 27.5 underbust, so I think going up 2 inches will be OK. Also, if you're sensitive, Cleo wires may be too firm for you. I personally can't wear Cleo (or Panache), except if change the wires with more flexible ones and have had more luck with Freya and Parfait. Good luck, I hope you'll find a bra that fits soon!

For me both the Casey and Jeanie work but I think I'm less projected than you. The cups of those two models are larger than usual, so I had to size one cup down

helpfulYou might have good luck with something with lower gores. My most comfortable bras are all lejabys. Sometimes you can find good deals on eBay. I’d try 70DD/30DD. They are usually projected, have shorter gores and more open cups. And they are an expensive French brand that tends to use nice materials. But the brand also tends to have narrower cups. I’m not sure where the Cleo wires are sitting on you towards the sides. Honestly I haven’t found many bras or bands that work well for narrow, projected, center full and comfortable. I have good luck with fit on cleos, but the sternum wires do dig and the band cuts in as the day goes on, same for the couple EM bras I have. Freya has softer bands and a more plunge shaped cut. It might work. I’m approximately a cup size up from you. I typically wear 30F.
I noticed on this particular bra with measurements the band is too tight which likely is widening the cups and making them more shallow. Some cleos run tighter than average so an extender can be useful if you are between band sizes

If you have free returns I’d try 32DD.

helpfulAgree with everyone else that there is no earthly reason to put you in a 30, except perhaps in brands with exceptionally stretchy backs! Going to 32 alone will already improve comfort greatly. Your standard for determining band choice should not be whether you CAN hook something on the tightest hook, but whether you NEED to do so to prevent ride-up. Also, cups that are too large like this specific one, Hettie, will cause the illusion of a looser band, since you have some extra real estate in the unfilled sides of the cups. If you like this bra, I see no reason not to try a 32D! It's very pretty and might well work. I'm less certain of being able to characterize your shape here because of the loose cups. You look fairly projected with shorter roots but anything else is harder to say!

Ivyleaf doesn’t have all her measurements posted but my horizontal perimeter is slightly smaller and I’d take an E in a 32 band. But without the vertical perimeter maybe that’s nothing to go on. Is the cup depth for this bra right? It looks like a measurement I’d expect from a 28G or 30FF. Does the Hettie run big?
-
Total agreement with wendybien here. If your seriously worried about the cups being too small, get a 32D & 32DD. Hettie does run quite large and the stretchy material accommodates fit very well.
-
revisa yeah, and her horizontal is the standing measurement which can lead to a very significant overestimation of size. It certainly does for me!! Yes hettie runs epically big.

There is not much information on Charnos, I've been looking at them myself and can't find much. I hate to be the devils advocate, but try them so we can have more additions to the bratabase!
Try the ones that appeal to you the most, and look around here at the pictures/reviews available for the bras you're interested in (click browse, then the first letter of the brand your looking into and find the brand, then model etc.)
If you really want padded/moulded cup bras I hear that Parfait has some of the most projected around, at least in terms of The Charlotte model.
You can also find Ewa Michalak bras at zathiya.com, she has some of the most projected bras around. Per of course what I have read here.
Bravissimo may be worth looking into as well.
I started my journey not too long ago and i just keep trying new brands and hoping for the best! Good luck! -
Parfait lined Jeanie is more projected than the Cleo lined bras. The Cleo Juna is quite shallow.
Also the right unlined bra can make a pretty decent T-shirt bra in the end. Molded/lined bras are often more shallow in my experience.

ivyleaf in response to the new pictures--look at the base of the cup. You have about a full inch of empty cup there, while hooking the band on tightest settings is also eating up cup volume. So this cup fit situation is very distorted. I really don't think going down 1 cup volume (32D) is going to be a problem!! Now this doesn't guarantee the shape will work but this size is clearly more volume than you need, and the fact that that's visible even with a band that's too snug is significant. Hettie has a typically tight Cleo band and an unusually large cup.

What are good bras for projected boobs from Parfait?
