Bra fitting help » Straps rubbing and depth too shallow

Issue resolved
I will look elsewhere for a bra. I don't think this works at all.
Original problem
I have several issues. First, the straps rub my arms if I'm moving around at all. I tried using the j-hook and that helped a tiny bit, but not enough. I also have an issue with the underwire being way too long. Not sure if they make bras in my size without underwires extending so far back. Last big issue is that the depth seems to be lacking in this one. I'd like recommendations for a bra with a depth that would fit better - with underwires that fit a more rounded, average width breast. Sorry if I left anything out or if I should have tried something before posting - it's my first time! Thanks for any help!

helpfulFirst of all, 'long' underwires is not a term we usually use. Wires are too wide if it goes way past your root, and too tall if its poking your underarm.
28s are harder to find, i think, no? Definitely looks too wide for you in all ways, pretty much.
If you look at the numbers, the 'cup width' measurement here is 7 (which is crazy - thats the width on MY bras and I'm like 3x your size), but the width on your Hettie is 5.8.
I'd search amazon (and used places) for bras in your size range, and then come back here to bratabase and look at the cup width and see what might work.
I suspect you might want to try some polish bras at some point tho - like comexim with straps moved in sort of thing.

I just kept trying things on and hoping for the best. In my size range, you cant be too picky. Not in the bottom of the cup usually means the cup is too shallow at the bottom, though.
There are a lot more options in your size used here on bratabase too

helpfulTry searching for a shorter wing height measurement, also try bending the cup narrower as you wear it and see if any position there seems better, then you can also search for narrower cup width.

Thanks - after I posted the pics, I tried bending the wire a bit, but didn't do much good. I hadn't thought of searching for shorter wing height. Thanks for the tip. I have been trying to find narrower width with more depth. The odd thing is that I see many Freya deco plunge that come up in my search, even though when I measure my Freya, it's way wider and not deep enough. This leads me to question measurements.

helpfulHow are you measuring your cup width? It should be in straight line from the inside seam of the wire channel to the opposite inside seam of the wire channel. 6" seems wide for a deco in this size. I think you may be measuring from the outside seam of this wire channel straight across the other outside seam of the opposite wire channel. Deco is one of Freya's most narrow bras. Deco is supposed to be a minimal coverage bra that pulls everything in from the sides. A lot of women go up a band size and some go down a cup size or two to get a better fit with no gaps. You either have to have a specific breast shape to fit the Freya Deco or you have to be okay will a really small cup depth or an overall ill fitting bra to achieve no gaps and major cleavage. With you being surgically enhanced I don't think your breasts will work very well with being smooshed to fit a bra.
You may want to focus on cups that fit and then shorten the bands. I personally don't think this bra is WAY to wide for you, but it's very hard to see a breast root through a moulded cup. So I'm left trying to see the where your breast root is in comparison to your armpit and your tail of Spence. Being surgically enhanced with a smaller ribcage is a bit of a difficult equation to figure out a perfect fit for.

Thanks LeProfessor - this was helpful. I can understand that it's difficult to see the breast root here. I figured out a way to estimate pretty closely how wide I need the wires to be - looks like I need around 4.5". So, I'll probably end up bending wires on just about any bra, unless I get them custom.

Thanks for your reply. Is there anyway to tell what your cup width should be? Even my Hettie is too wide. I think my CK Smoothie is better, but I get mild quadboob when I have it adjusted properly, I'm not fully in the bottom of the cup, no matter what. So many issues!
