Bra fitting help » Keep? Exchange? band too big, cup wrinkling, etc.
Panache » Dahlia Balconnet Bra (7291) » 32GG 32:10
Issue resolved
I switched to a 30H, and the bra fits beautifully! Yay!
Original problem
The band feels a little loose on this bra, which is no surprise given that I measure a 30, but usually size up to 32 in Panache bras for comfort. But here it feels a little *too* loose. I have it on the tightest setting right now, before any real wear.
And there's that cup wrinkling, which surprised me, since I'm usually on the cusp of being a 32H/30HH or even 32HH sometimes. I'm surprised to not be filling out this 32GG. Is it something other than the cup size? I also feel like the wires are a bit wide.
The straps are also incredibly long on this bra. Again, I'm wearing them on the tightest before any wear, and they already seem too long.
Opinions? Keep as "good enough," exchange (for what size?), or just give up on this bra? Thanks <3

helpfulIs your gore tacking? If one wire sits on one breast, the top of one cup will almost always wrinkle in my bras. I simply do not have space for two wires. This could be the source of your wrinkles. Otherwise, this looks gorgeous. One of our users places a dart in the outer portion of the cup to tighten the excess fabric. I would not recommend you try a cup smaller, perhaps a band, but not a cup smaller. Best wishes!

I SO hope, for your sake, the scaling doesn't change much in the 30H. If it does, the 30H could be a bit small. Fingers crossed for you :-)

Yeah I'm keeping this one until the exchange comes (have until Feb. 14 to return it), and I figure if I decide to keep this 32GG, I can prob call Amazon and explain that I'll actually be sending back the 30H. We shall see!

helpfulDefinitely size down in the band and you say that the cup is loose which is a sure sign that's it's just too big. A 30gg or 30 h should fit just fine. I have tried Panache and found that their stuff runs very small in the cup and little tight in the band but not too terrible.

Thanks! It's so frustrating! My envy and andorra both fit really well, at a 32GG. Pressing on for the perfect bra! :)

Try Elomi.

helpfulThe cups don’t look too big to me. Dahlia is kind of open on top and a bit tall, but the top doesn’t stretch and if you size down it will cut in. It’s a pretty good fit but if the slight ruffling at the top bothers you you’re not going to be any happier with 30H.
It seems to me your band is sitting a little high in the back. Lots of people who spent years wearing a too large band have the habit of over tightening the straps. Try loosening them a little and pull the band down in back.

Thanks! I'll try that. The straps feel like they're going to fall, but I'll try moving the back down to correct that.

Loosening the straps didn't help much. I think it's just riding up. I walked and moved around a bit, and the whole bra seems like it's coming up. Going to try the 30H. I'm not too worried about the ruffling, just the band at this point. Again thanks for the pointers! :)

helpfulWow that bra is gorgeous and looks great. If you don't mind altering such a beautiful bra, your could try altering the Gore. You could sew the wires together, practically eliminating the Gore, down the entire length of the Gore. This would shorten the band a bit, and make it so the Gore lays more flat than it is now. But I don't think even I could do than to this gorgeous bra.
I couldn't identify this wrinkling you're talking about. I see a bit where it doesn't lay completely flat...but I'm glad you decided not to go down a cup because of that tiny bit because that one would surely not fit at all!Updated on January 16, 2018 Flag this
Thanks! You are right that there is *barely* enough space for both wires, so if anything shifts (for example, because the band is too big), the gore comes up a bit. Trying a 30H and crossing fingers.
