Bra fitting help » Suggest alterations for Playtex seamless bra, cups too big

Issue resolved
Its not a perfect fit, but I have added a dart in the cups and it doesn't wrinkle so badly that I can't wear it under shirts
Original problem
It's super comfy, but the cups are obviously too big. I was gifted this by my SIL who didn't like it. I want to alter the cups so they fit but since there are no seams I'm not sure where to start. Also, I measure as. 32D/32DD so this sister size should fit, but the cups are too big. Does that mean I am a 32C?

helpfulin this model yes you might prefer a 32C. In most bra designs though, 32C would be way too small. Many Playtex designs seem scaled according to very old sizing systems so the cups can run huge compared to modern bras--for example when I was a 32FF/G in most typical full bust brands, I could wear a Playtex 18 hour 34DD or even 34D!

Although I am not a seamstress, I wonder if attaching the strap a bit lower on the cup might help. Also, a dart near the outer cup edge/wire intersection may help, too.

helpfulI have no customization experience but I do know that different brands run different volumes - you have to figure out your size in every brand seperately
do you have any 'cookies' (pads) you can put in the bottom? to see if that helps? Looks like most of the empty space is up high tho

I was given this bra and can't return it so it seems like a good one to mess around with. I don't think Playtex makes anything smaller than a 34 :(
