Bra fitting help » Go up a band size for Ewa Bras?
Ewa Michalak » Bm Bibi Beżowa Perła (533) » 80E 36:6
I want to purchase more styles of this bra in the future. Recently I went to the Ewa Michalak Website and the calculator suggested that I wear the size 80ff. I am thinking of getting my future Ewa bras in a 85dd or 85e because. Does that seem to be a good starting point?
I can't quite show it, but the gore isn't tacking on this bra. The band on this bra feels secure; however, the band does feel tight and the hooks are straining.

helpfulI'm no expert on Ewa but it looks to me like the cup is too small and also not a good match for your shape. I think the band feels tight because the cup is too small, but a larger cup might feel too tall and the wires would be a bit wide. You look like you're fob, center full, with average/short roots and possibly an omega shape.
I'm sorry that I have no suggestions for a style that would fit you better. Hopefully others can help.
Also can you check your measurement of cup width? Seems really out of range for that size. The measurement on your Scantilly seems off too.

Thanks. I checked the cup width measurements and you were correct, I accidentally measured them incorrectly for both of my bras. It has been a while since I had to measure my bras.

It does look too small. Would you try this on upside down and backward? The band may feel too small because the cup is too small. If the band on upside down and backward feels comfortable, you may not require a larger band. But, you'll definitely need a larger cup.

I did that and the band is snug, but not painful. I was able to put the bra on the third hook with no straining and no pain at all.
-
Good to know. :-) I would not recommend you size up in the band **unless the data here or on Ewa's websites indicates a band is particularly small** Definitely, however, you need more cup space for your boobs.

Thanks. I am going to try the half cups in the Ewa bras. I have an Ewa Plunge in a 75f and the cups are too small and I think that if I try the plunges in a larger cup, then I will get wrinkling in the top of the cup.
Not sure if this is going to make sense but I'm going to get the CHP in an 80ff. I want to go up a cup size because of I decide to use the cookies in the bra, then I won't need to worry about my nipples popping out of the bra. Would a 80ff possibly be too large?
-
It makes sense :-) The CHP fits a bit differently. You may fit comfortably in an 80f or an 80ff. I'd follow your intuition and if you aren't happy with the result, try another size .

Thank you so much. I gotta decide which size to get now.

helpfulI didnt read the whole other conversation here, but some of Ewa's older models were very inconsistent with size. An 80 should stretch to 36 inches, but this one clearly does not. I have bought 2 Ewas where the band was clearly a size smaller than the label stated.
Do you have any extenders? An extender might actually make the cups fit better - a too-small band pulls the wires and flattens the cups
You havent tried any Cleo or Panache yet? see what you can find on sale on amazon in your size

Initially I was wearing this bra with an extender, but the band has been too loose with the extender on. I just tried the bra back on with the extender and I'm going to take a few pictures and try to add them to the fit request.
I have tried Cleo and Panache. Cleo Lily might work for me shape wise, but when I was a 32f I tried the Cleo Minnie and the shape didn't work for me. I tried the Jasmine and it didn't work either. The bras were too wide and I have trouble filling the top section of the Jasmine. When I was fitted again as a 32ff or 34f the Jasmine was still a shape mismatch. I am going to retry the Cleo Lily in another size because I loved the Cleo Minnie as a 32e. And I can no longer fit my 32f Lily.
ETA: I have now added additional photos of me wearing the bra and I have added descriptions for the pictures as well if you click on them. Not sure if the pictures will help though.

This one apparently is only 25" unstretched which is more typical of a 70 in many brands. I wonder if it was actually mislabeled!
-
Good catch WendyBien. I just checked out my 75f Cappucino Plunge and the band is 25.5 inches unstretched. I just measured my 70ff Ewa CHP's and the band unstretched is 22.13 inches.

Its ok finallygotboobs, you tried your best.. I tend to be more on the center full side and I do think that I have more fullness on the bottom. I really do think that a larger cup size is going to be way too tall on me, that is typically why I wear half cup styles because I don't have to worry about the bra being too tall. I think that I will just need to keep looking at the Ewa CHP models instead of the BM models.
Thanks so much for responding to my fit request (:
