Issue resolved
Found a bra that works with my figure.
Original problem
Just bought this bra and it has a firm fit. It is definitely snug. I am still new to properly fitting bras and trying to get a sense of whether or not I'm on the right track. Is this bra properly fitted? Is it the appropriate bra for me?

helpfulVisually and numbers-wise everything seems good, but there are fit factors that can only be assessed by how you feel. When you say it feels snug what sensations do you have? Is it hard to take a normal or deep breath in it? Do you have pain anywhere? Do you feel a lot of pressure at the gore (where the wires sit between the breasts in the middle of your chest)?
I would also suggest loosening the shoulder straps as they seem to be digging a tiny bit. Most people who've worn not-optimally sized bras for a few years get into the habit of tightening the straps a lot since it's the only way to get lift, but in a well-fitted bra you don't need to do that, and everything will fit and feel better with a strap that is just snug enough to stay on, and no tighter

It does look ilke a really good shape for you--goes to show you never can tell before trying a bra! If the band feels a little tight you can try an extender (the kind that looks like the end of a bra band, not the kind with a bit of elastic in the middle of it) but otherwise I think it's a very solid choice.
I don't think there is any such thing as "in your face" boobs, unless you are actually whacking people in the face with them, which I doubt ;-)

helpfulThis "looks" like a much better fit than the Parfait Carole. The cup is filled, your breasts don't look smooshed, and there is significantly more center projection. But, Cleo wires can be painful. So, if it doesn't feel comfortable after a few hours, keep looking. Some users here report bras will relax over time and the comfort will improve. That is an option, too.

I adjusted the straps and it feels more comfortable, but the band is firm. I think this is the most flattering bra I've bought since I realized I had no idea what my bra size was. I like the look of this a lot more than the Parfait, but the other one is more comfortable (but does not feel quite as supportive). I really like how this bra looks on me, so will put up with the snugness.

I So wish Wacoal would develop more models with center fullness and expand their size range. Cleo materials and wires often make my skin crawl in a wide range of sizes, and Wacoal uses much higher quality, pleasant materials in a very limited size range. Sigh.
Hope the comfort improves!

Kasey17 you can wear it with a non-elastic extender until the band stretches. No need to put up with anything!

The band is snug but not restrictive. The gore sits well and is comfortable. I took your advice and loosened the straps and it feels much better. I'm surprised how much I like the fit of this bra. I would not say tha balconets were bras I thought I could or should wear, but they seem to be the most flattering style for me. This bra has a lot of structure and support, but wasn't sure if I wasn't too "in your face" with this bra.
