Bigger cup smaller band
Original problem
The cups mostly fits fine. Though when i move my arms a certain way there's gaping (not sure if this is normal). Band also feels snug. However my shoulders get sore and i feel some strain at my back, shoulders and neck when i wear this bra. I've tried tightening or loosening the straps but to no avail. This is the 1st time I've encountered such a problem. Also the cups may be too small? Theres some wrinkle at the bottom as though my boob is pushing against the bra. The cups are rather soft and flexible by the way. Also im not sure if im pulling the bra so close to my body that the cups just bend to fit my breast . When i just place the cup over my naked boob there's a lot of space. Not sure if it's normal.

helpfulWhen the band is not supportive enough, it transfers the weight of the breasts to the straps and this causes neck/shoulder pain. The band is supposed to support you, not the straps. I think this band is too big for you based on the measurements. Do they have this bra in a 28DD that you could try on? It also looks like the bra is too shallow at the bottom and that the wire is not resting right under your IMF. There shouldn't be any gap between the wire and the underside of the breast, you want to fit the wire right up in the fold.

helpfulIt can be hard to tell if there's "quad-boob" when you have smaller and/or firmer tissue, but I too can see a slight bulge in the breast tissue along the top line of the cups. That would suggest that, yes, either the cups are too small, or the wrong shape. Molded cups are usually very wide and shallow, so the cups and your breasts push against each other at the apex, and the rest of the bra just sit around the breast leaving gaps. It would explain the wrinkles and straining at the bottom of the cup you describe, and wouldn't be surprising if there's gaps on the sides too. (Check if there's space between the side edge of your breast and the underwire.) It may be 7.1 inches deep, but if it's shaped more like a plate and you need it shaped more like a bowl, it's going to be fighting your breasts rather than encasing, lifting, and supporting. You'll need to move away from bras that are molded and try something with seams.
The gaping when you move your arms is normal. Considering that the edges of the cup touch your armpit when standing straight, if you move your arm forward, it's going to push the cup forward and away from your body. Very notorious in molded bras especially!
I agree with everything Sovavosi has said as well about the band. A bra's max stretch should be about your loose ribcage measurement. Any larger, and it's too big or stretchy to begin with. Not enough tension on the band means it sits loosely and everything she said about strap strain.
Hopefully that made sense and helps!Updated on July 6, 2018 Flag this
