Bra fitting help » Wireless bra more painful then wired

try bras with wider band
Original problem
It causes pain below the cup were the seam is. It feels too small/tight. I also felt same pain when I wore one of my other bras with removed wires and sports bras. What should I look for in a wireless bra? Maybe a wider band?

helpfulWider band dramatically improves my comfort. In fact, it is the first characteristic I look for followed closely by "cup spacing" when considering a wireless bra. When the cups collapse, the narrow elastic digs into my breasts and ribs.

Typically I would not recommend a soft cup that has no actual band of fabric that sits on the ribcage UNDER the breasts. Also, this does indeed look like it's being pulled too tight on you generally. The appearance of the cups and the wrinkles at their base suggest this is intended for a smaller ribcage, especially considering you don't have much fat on your ribcage that would protect you from an elastic digging in. They may use robust elastic to compensate for lack of wires, resulting in a tighter band on the body even though it can be stretched pretty big manually. In your size range there are now a good few options, I recently even found a basically completely unstructured Hanro bralette that fit me in size XS and my breast perimeter is a bit larger than yours. It has that all-important band under the bust though. Tutti Rouge and their sub-line Rougette now offer 2-3 bralettes as well.

So, the one I have has cups...ish. The fabric has a little bit of stretch. No seams in cups per se though there is a seam between the lace and the non-lace part of it. It's the Greta model which is now discontinued. They have other ones that are less delicately constructed. If you want to wear something out of the house or to be more active though, I'd def consider Rougette instead or something conceived specifically for full bust!

thank you for the suggestions, I'll probably order some of the Rougette bralettes.

helpfulidk, the only wireless bras I ever wore were Decent Exposures , and they arent cheap. Very comfy, tho.
Its weird, it looks too tight despite the stretched measurement being much larger than your body measurement

Do Decent Exposures have a way of preventing my boobs from shifting to my armpits? I have tried ones that look similar but all they did was flatten my chest. My boobs hurt when they are compressed.
The band looks tight because its on the tightest hooks which measures 32in stretched. It has 6 pairs of hooks.

My breast also hurt when compressed. I don’t feel compressed in my Decent Exposures, and when I scoop my side tissue into the cup it seems to stay there. I’m not outer full though, so this may not be the same for you.

i actually used to buy my decent exposures a size or two small because i like that compressed feel. They are cup-and-band sized, with no adjusters, but the company will adjust them for free in the first (i forget, 2 or 3 mo maybe?) by shortening the straps, deepening the arm holes, that sort of thing - they can make it smaller but not bigger, obviously.
also the different fabrics will be firmer/softer. The velour has almost no stretch to it at all, the eyelet (if they still have it) is the lightest. I used to mostly do lined lycra for more support but still plenty of stretch so I could go up or down a size and still wear it

Just a thought but have you looked at the Panache Sophie Maternity bra (not the nursing one)? My boobs get painful when compressed, and I found the shape on the Sophie amazing for my projection at the apex - it also definitely kept my boobs out of my armpits, and they love to hang out there, especially in wireless options. I was really impressed with it actually, and it gave me a good shape under a t-shirt, better than some wired Panache bras. The band isn't particularly long though - another inch or two and it would be perfect!

I can't seem to find Panache Sophie in my size but I'll keep looking.
maybe I try decent exposures if other things don't work out.

Rougette bralette look very comfortable.
Does Hanro bralette have cups or is it like elastic? I worry that something "unstructured" would just flattened boobs. I rely on wires or seams to keep my boobs out of my armpits.
