Bra fitting help » Band too tight or cups too small?
Comexim » Belen Half Cup » 60N 28:14
Issue resolved
Cups are a bit tight and causing me some pain. I will ask them if they can reduce cup height on a half-cup for the next size up. If not, this model is not for me.
Original problem
I can fasten this bra, but it feels very tight. When I tried it on upside down and backwards it was okay. The gore is floating off to one side a bit, and I think it's causing the top of the cups to gape. Is the band too tight or are the cups too small? What customizations do I need on this model?

helpfulHow do the wires feel? If you go up a cup size they’ll be wider.
For alterations I’m thinking reduced cup height, overlapping wires, move straps in 2cm.

That’s too bad, these cups are tall on you and a larger size will be even taller.
I see you have the straps angled in quite a bit which is causing some of the gapping at the top. If you wanted to keep this one you could alter the gore and move the straps in. It might work.
Does an extender help with the fit?

Just with the band tightness, the gore still won't tack even on the loosest extender hooks.

I'd recommend this size, reduced cup height, and 2cm extra depth near the wire in addition to the aforementioned alterations. This should provide more space in the bottom of the cup where you most need it.
I experience this same problem with Comexim. It looks too big, but my short, FOB boobs are screaming in the bottom of the cup. When I have the funds, I'll order one more half cup and pray fervently it arrives with the requested alterations.

11.5" depth seems to be my lower limit on cup depth. The Ardea that I got is 11.3, and that hurts also. Consistency... what's that? 😡

Thanks to all of you for your help. Comexim said the max they could reduce the height is 2cm.

Thanks for sharing your research, Sovavosi ! It is helpful to me :-) :-)

helpfulcomexim gores rarely fully tack for me because their wires are pretty soft. tbh it's the one thing about the brand that bothers me.
in my experience with two comexim half cups, they were both suuuper open on top. looks like belen is too. getting reduced cup height could help as other noted.

I just got my package of four half cups in the mail today, they all seem to fit different! ugh.

The variation between models.....ARGH. I SO look forward to comprehensive model descriptions on Comexim's website.

I really would like to know which ones are open on top. I can’t tell from the models.

helpfulHow do the cups feel on your breasts? I know the photos can be misleading with your lower fullness, so do they feel too tight? If they feel good, I wouldn't suggest going up in the cup as it would amplify the gaping, but if they are painful, then upsize them for sure.
The band is tricky, since it's max stretch is so close to your rib measurement. Since you can fasten it, going up a band on this one would most likely make the band too loose, requiring the tightest connection to start with & leave you with no room to tighten if the band relaxes in the future. Yet feeling too tight now isn't fun either. Can you try an extender & see if it helps?
In addition to the excellent suggestions provided by finallygotboobs , I'd say if the band is too tight for comfort (especially when seated), then order a 65 but with an additional row of eyeloops so you can get a tighter fit with it. Also, maybe try to specify the height you want the cups to be instead of how reduced you'd want them -I don't know if they are willing to do it, but it's worth trying if it can get you that perfect fit, right?Updated on November 8, 2017 Flag this

It is painful :(
I have a 3 column extender and tried it on all 3 positions, it still was not tacking and still hurt. Helped with the band only.
-
Yeah, if the cups are painful then sizing up on the cup may be the solution. You can also email then before placing a new order & ask if they would allow you to request a specific cup height. Both Joanna and Anna are super helpful. They are quite busy currently so it may take a few days, but they always reply.
As for the band.......I still say tricky. What does your gut tell you? Is a temporary extender doable, or does it feel like it would be needed for a permanent solution? -
I think since the band feels ok upside down and backwards, it might just be that the cups are too small. I had to ask because this is a new experience for me...
I will try asking them if they can reduce the height on a half-cup.
-
Totally understandable. :) It's a gorgeous bra, I hope you can get a better custom fit. :)

helpfulThis looks a lot like how a lot of my bras used to fit me - it looks like the cup might actually be a bit too big. In pictures #3 and 4 I can see some space at the top of the cups, and the wires look pretty wide too. My guess would be the band, but you did say it feels okay upside down and backwards, so could it partially be the wires? Maybe it's sliding down out of your IMF.

The cups are a bit shallow on the bottom. The cups feel too tight and are causing me some pain. The cups are very tall. Thanks though.

I hope that they are able to accommodate your order and give you a larger cup with a shorter height on the cup and more closer set straps. I think these changes would help greatly with the fit.
Has anyone tried replacing Comexim's wires with a more sturdy wire? -
LeProfessor I think cupandahalf has replaced Comexim wires before.
-
I have and it works great!

The wires are okay. I don't want them any wider if I can help it. I don't think they will reduce the height on a half cup.
