Bra fitting help » Wrong shape or wrong size?
Cleo » Kali Balconnet Bra (7561) » 30GG 30:10
Over the last year I’ve lost around 30lbs. I’m looking for fitting advice or recommendations. My current measurements put me in a 30G. I’ve also gone to get remeasured professionally as well. This is Kali in 30GG. I sized up based on bratabase and other reviews. Anyway I just can’t seem to figure out entirely what kind of bra styles I should be looking for. I like Cleo Marcie but I’m just playing with sizes to see what the best fit is for me. I just tried Hettie, Blake and Skye in 30G and they all seemed to have fit well. I also tried Jasmine which also fit well I’m just not sure if I like where the seems are lining up. Freya Deco Vibe fits but the band is just so thick it almost feels like it wants to push down onto my ribs so needless to say I don’t like it for an everyday bra. I’m starting to wonder if I could try 32ff in certain styles or brands. I just feel like everything I try isn’t quite matching up to my shape or measurements. I do like a snug fit however I don’t like the bulge I get from the bands you can see through your shirts.

helpfulHave you considered trying a few Polish brands? I’d suggest looking into Gaia, Kinga, and Ewa Michalak. Since they are made a bit different than the UK brands you’ve tried, you may be happier with the seam placement and overall cup fit.
You can get all three from Bras4You.com. Magda at Bras4You.com provides excellent customer service, and if she doesn’t have a particular model that you’re interested in, she will get it for you if she can. (She is also magdalenahukalowicz here on Bratabase.)

You can also get Ewa Michalak directly from Ewa at www.Ewa-michalak.pl
Here's links to these brands on Bratabase in your size range if you want to see what they look like & compare measurements etc:

It takes about 2 weeks from shipping for them to arrive, but it's actually easy to order.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions. I'll do my best to answer.I have tried 22 Gaia bras (will get them entered soon-it's taking awhile to enter all my old bras) 16 Kinga, & 40 Ewa bras, so I do have a bit of experience with the brands.
The linked Kinga and Gaia EU 65J would be a 30:10 or 30GG. Ewa uses the EU numbers but with a double letter system like UK, so you'd want to try 65G/GG.

helpfulIt does look a bit tight. You could try it with an extender to see whether that makes any difference. If the tightness of the band is distorting the wire it could be that the bra looks shallower than it is.

helpfulThe band does look (and measures) too tight. According to both your tight and comfortable ribcage measurements, you should try a 32 (70 in EU). Like someone else mentioned, a band that is too tight will pull the cups too close to your chest, making them functionally more shallow. A super tight band can also distort the wire -making them functionally wider than they really are.
As for your gore issue - it's often due to being full in the upper inner quadrant of your breast and the bra not having enough space to accommodate it. I get it ALLLLLLLL the time. Just not in Ewa Michalak, Gorsenia or Samanta A922 bras.
Search for bras by measurements, not by size. It will give better results.
I have tried most of the Polish brands - Ewa Michalak, Gorsenia, Kinga, Samanta, Ewa Bien, Gaia, Ava, Krisline. I have reviewed A LOT of them (I have a lot left to do. OMG. So many bras in my drawer!)
If I could wear a UK bra, I'd wear size 30FF - 2 smaller than you. I USUALLY wear 65G EU but sometimes have to go to 65GG or 65H. You could start at 70G. That would be approximately 32FF.
If you have any questions about Polish bras, feel free to shoot me a DM.

helpfulThis looks pretty good to me. I'm seeing a bit of in-cup quadding, which may or may not be a fit problem - some people with soft tissue get this in a lot of bras just because of the way the diagonal seam is cut. The photo of your back does look like the band might be too tight. If you want to try a different size, I'd go for 32G.

I feel like the wires were too wide or low. Something didn’t seem like it was lining up. So maybe I will give a 32G a try. I do have a little bit of soft tissue so that is accurate with the in-cup quadding I’ve noticed this with other bras as well. But I also find myself having problems with the gore tacking at the top on many bras not a problem at the bottom?!? Any suggestions why this happens I don’t know if it’s the fit of the bra, cup size or band size issue. Thanks for the feedback!

In the second photo it looks like the wires are almost sitting on top of each other at the top of the gore. Is that correct?

You know I think maybe the space is too wide on the center gore now that you mention that. I’m not sure if they are touching I felt like the wires went lower then the gore which I think is what they call a partial band? I guess I felt like the size was too big yet the cup fit. I have been trying so many styles/sizes trying to narrow down what works and what doesn’t but I’m still not even sure if I’m FOB/FOT if I have short or tall roots ect... I thought I was figuring out some of this stuff but so far trial and error.

Yeah I think it's just that the gore is too wide for you at the top. If it's comfortable I wouldn't worry about it. IDK if you'd be able to find something narrower but you could try searching by measurement and looking at the cup separation measurement. Or you can alter gores to be narrower. I can link you some tutorials if you want.
I really do think this is a great fit on you except for the issues I mentioned. I'd say you're very projected with average height roots. Since you fit well in this but also in bras that are good for even fullness and upper fullness, I'd guess you have even fullness. And you need bras that have plenty of room for immediate depth - see how the underside of your breast near the wires forms nearly a 90 degree angle with your ribcage? That's why Deco Vibe doesn't work on you - it's average projection, tallish, and like all molded foam cups it has little to no room for immediate depth. Wires usually slide down if the cups are too shallow and don't have enough room for bottom fullness and/or immediate depth.

Hettie and jasmine the gore seems perfect although I wasn’t a big fan of jasmine. I also think the gore tacks perfect on Blake too

Thank you I have not looked at any of these, the sizes confuse me but I was under the impression it was difficult to get them in the states. I will check them out!
