Elomi » Carmen Plunge Bra (4010) » 38GG 38:10
Material at the bottom of the cup is bunching. The band does bother me but it’s the most comfy bra I’ve owned so far

helpfulIt looks like the wires are much too wide, there's quite a bit of empty space on the side of the cups. I know that when I wear wires too wide, the band pulls them back and they stab right between to ribs under my arms. Ouch! Is that one of the things bothering you, or something else?
Overall this style looks too wide and shallow of a shape for you (shaped closer to a plate where you need a cup shaped more like a bowl). Agree with Calluna.Updated on October 7, 2018 Flag this

Maybe try Cleo or Curvy Kate? Size up in the band if you choose Ellace (though some of the other CK have tight bands too).

helpfulI am very familiar with your size range as well as this bra and brand. Elomi, especially older styles like this, have very soft wires and firm bands. That means the wires are pulled back, creating less room in the front of the bra and more at the sides. One thing you can try for your sternum pain is wearing an extender.
But in general the problem is the wires, which clearly don’t follow your roots. Do you have roots out to where the wire is? If so, you might try a few other Elomi styles. If your roots match what is your visible breast tissue in the profile shot, you might try Elomi Tia Bandless Bra (4280) . It is really well constructed and won’t be so tall and wide on the side.

No the wires go out further than my roots. I will try the Tia. Thanks!

helpfulI’m thinking that it’s not projected at the wire enough to match your projection. It’s too shallow for you, I think. It’s very pretty though.

helpfulI’m guessing you have swooped and scooped and adjusted the wire to fit in the imf, right? And what is the band concern?

Yes swooped and scooped. IMF? Sorry new around here. Band is uncomfortable in the middle front. I feel all the weight/pressure there and red marks show up.
-
IMF is inframammary fold--that fold where your boobs meet the chest wall. Red marks aren't a problem unless they take a while to go away, but as Slava-Zone says, the wires are too wide now that I see it too, which might be from a too tight band distorting them.
-
Thanks. Should I get a larger band or try another bra?
-
Another style, though the right size band might not pull so wide. If you have free returns, try a larger band. If anything, it can be a learning experience. If you try a band up and it's still doing this and cups are wide, you will know it is a mismatch.

helpfulOk, so I see a couple potential problems here. Do you find that you have pendulous breasts or that they sag?How firm are the wires? Are they really easy to stretch and distort or is it really hard to get them to distort
(you can check this by stretch the band and feeling the wires with your hands to feel if they are malleable). What size band were you wearing previous to beginning your bra journey?I also ask about the band you wore previously because this band is not too big for you at all, it is hardly even stretching around your torso at all. It is a full 2 inches larger than your loose under bust measurement. But from what I am reading it is not really the band that is bothering you, it is the gore (the center bit between the cups on the sternum). This could be because the wires are too firm for you, it can also be caused by the cups being to shallow for you (this is cause because since the cups do not have the right amount of projection for you your breast is pushing the cup down trying to find the largest depth area which also causes uneven tension on the band causing it to dig in and be uncomfortable). It can also be because the gore it too short, too tall, too wide or too narrow for you. It looks to me like this one is a bit too wide for you. This bra looks like it is simply wrapping around you and covering you instead of sitting up directly under your IMF and supporting you.
I definitely agree with the other ladies that these cups are simply too shallow for you. The cups/wires are also too wide for you.Updated on October 9, 2018 Flag this

Yes I am currrently nursing my second baby so definitely pendulous. I have been wearing 38 for about ten years now. Bouncy wires and kinda hard to distort the wires. Yes the gore is bothering me. I wore it even like longer today and it was just digging into me, especially when sitting down

I feel all the pressure in the middle front of the band (sternum) but as I wear it longer the pressure can extend to the width of the cups. Any suggestions on what brands carry a better shape for me?
