Bra fitting help » Great fit but creates torpedo shape on projected breasts
Cleo » Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) » 32D 32:4
Issue resolved
Will try out other bras that are more suited for my shape
Original problem
Got the Cleo Marcie to verify my size and the 32D fit perfectly. (Also tested out 28E, 30E & 32DD in Marcie and 30DD in Cleo Skye). This fit perfectly, except it gave me a torpedo shape. I suspect this model might be too shallow for me? Can anyone let me know why this could be happening or give me any bra recommendations for projected breasts? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

helpfulIts not that its too shallow, its that Marcie is a very Full On Top shape, and you are not as FOT - not sure if you are FOB or just even. My favorite bras are often called 'torpedo shape' - because I'm very FOT and so they look round on me, but not so much on people who lean more FOB.
I know Marcie has some more FOB shapes but I never learned what they were - soon after I started my bra journey, I outgrew the entire Cleo line. But if you look at what marcies are available in your size, maybe on amazon or even ebay, and then look here and read reviews, you'll find probably a few ppl saying if its good for FOT or FOB

helpfulI actually disagree with dbmamaz, and I think you're on the right track by saying it's too shallow. I believe you actually do have a fair amount of upper fullness and projection, and this bra is too shallow for you (in this size range). I believe the bottom half of the cup is too shallow and isn't allowing your breasts to settle, so your breasts are actually pushing the cups down and creating that flattened/torpedo shape from the bottom up. I would suggest trying something like the Cleo Hettie, which is very projected, and is a little bit less stiff than the Marcie, so it should give you a nice round shape. The Cleo Kayla and Cleo Kali could also be good ones to try.

Got it -- I'm going to give those recs a shot and see how they stack up. Thank you so much! :)

Kali is more shallow than lily or Marcie or Kayla in my experience. It’s a little wider too. I’m 30F

helpfulFor me it looks like the shape is fine but the cups and probably also the band is a bit to big. Maybe give it one more try in a 30D or even 28DD unless the 28E felt too tight. But definitely try the Kayla first. It is more projected and has stretch lace so you get even more room at the top. You could start with a 30D since it is stretchy. However I found that the Kali was too shallow for my just slightly full on top shape.

Hi, I tried 28E, 30E & 32DD in Marcie and 30DD in Cleo Skye but they all didn't fit nearly as well as the 32D. I will give the Kayla a shot, thank you so much!

Can you double check the measurements? I’d expect a 32 band to stretch more than 28”...this is 4” shorter than the band is supposed to stretch to. My 30F is a bit tight I know that some Marcie’s fit a little snug, but I can stretch it to 28.5”... maybe 29” at the max. So your bra should stretch at least to 30”, I’d think.

Calluna sorry, it was actually my first time doing these measurements so I wasn't sure how much I was supposed to stretch them to. I'll update them in a bit! Thank you :)

Oh no, don't worry. I'm not sure if I am even measuring my stretched length. I just know from what others have told me which is what I am passing along. It's quite difficult to know how much to stretch. I wish a video on taking measurements existed.

I sized down a cup in the Kayla compared to my typical Cleo size, just something to consider

revisa Yes I just received Kayla in the mail, was wondering why it was so big on me so I'll return it and buy another in a cup size down. Thanks!

Good to know, I think I am pretty even but a little more FOB -- still trying to get the hang of classifying... I will try to look for more FOB or even shapes and see how they work. Thank you so much!
