Bra fitting help » What modifications would improve bra fit and is the cup size right?

Issue resolved
Trying other style, more depth at wire.
Original problem
I ordered this bra from Comexim and it is the first 3HC I’ve tried. I love the look of this bra but the piping does not lay flat, especially on my right (larger) side. It’s hard to see in the pictures but it doesn’t seem to contour with my breast at all and instead sticks straight up. I do not fill the upper, outer part of the bra but find that my right breast is pushing out on the centre side of the bra (I noticed slight buckling of fabric after one day of wear). It’s comfortable, marks that you see are from the bra I was wearing before I received this bra. I think reducing cup height would improve the fit on the outer side, but I do not want any height removed at the gore because I’d worry I’d start spilling out in the centre.
My challenge with bra fitting is that I seem to push straight out in the cup and then abruptly plateau at the top. I’m not sure if ordering a 3HC with reduced cup height and, maybe, deeper projection at base would improve the fit. If I did this, should I stick with the same size or go up a cup size? I think I need a less open top of bra, and was wondering which Comexim 3HC are more closed off. My UK size is 36FF/G. I’m FOB, centre full and projected. Any suggestions for styles that would be more closed off, or modifications I could try to improve fit would be appreciated. Thanks.

helpfulI have this bra, and the cup tops are very open and is smaller depth wise than other half cups in the same size. You can ask them to reduce the cup height, but they might not. I've been told they don't normally reduce the height on half cups. Unfortunately, this particular one is probably going to be too open for you so you'd have to look for a half cup that is closed on top. I know that these two are closed on top:

They said the max they would lower it was 2cm, but only after I sent them pictures of how tall it was.

Thanks all, I bought this bra because it was so pretty, then read some of the reviews so thought I may have some fit issues. If other 3HCs are deeper in the same size, I may order one unmodified and see how it fits. This bra is certainly wearable (and did I mention I like how it looks?) but it’s definitely not the perfect fit.
I do have the Jade plunge in 80HH and just bought the Elena Plunge in 80J. The Jade fits well if I’m looking for a lower cut, sexier bra, but the centre tissue on the right does push up and out and I get a tiny bit of quadding. The inner fabric buckles a bit on the right and I need a little more immediate projection.
The Elena in 80J has the immediate projection I need, is more full coverage and really contains my center tissue. I feel properly contained in it and it can be worn under Tshirt. The issue I have with it is height on the outer edge. It is at least an inch higher than the Jade. When I order another plunge I would either order the 80HH with more depth at the wire or the 80J with reduced height. The 80J is more comfortable as it has higher sides and isn’t as tight in the band and I’m not sure if that’s because I have more room in the cup or because it’s a different material.

I was just looking online and they don’t have the Talisman in 80HH. How do you request a size not listed? I’d read that some use a translator to put requests in, but can you just request in English.

You can put any size you want in the comment box :)
Just FYI, Ardea is also small in the cup if you want to try that one.

Kasey17 Yes, you can do it in English. You just add any size to the cart and write the size (& customizations if any) in the comment/notes box at checkout. They don't speak English at Comexim, but can communicate well using a translator on their end.

Thanks Sovavosi. Should I order the Ardea in 80J but with reduced height? Or try 80HH with more depth at the wire (and how do you word that in a request)?

If you don't mind emailing them first, ask them if they would be willing to reduce cup height on Ardea. I'd hate for you to order it and they just don't do it. You might have better luck with asking for more depth at the wire. You could try doing what this person has done, the "deeper cup" request: http://www.bratabase.com/bra/dinqw/

Thanks Sovavosi. That describes exactly my issues with bra fit. I’m going to try requesting more depth at the wire and see how that works.
I know they will shorten the cup height on the half cups but not sure what the limit is, but it's less than they will do on a plunge. Sovavosi, do you remember what it was? 1cm? 2cm?
You could request the reduced cup height and it should help with this issues. When they reduce the height, it's more towards the straps and less towards the gore, but the gore will most likely be shorter as a result.
If you order deeper at the wire, it does give more immediate projection but also adds depth at the apex making it functionally between cup sizes . So a 80HH with deeper at the wire would fit between a 80HH and a 80J cup and amplify the issues. For me, 1cm deeper at the wire also resulted in 1" deeper at the apex. This added projection also increases the height of the cup by default. :-/
