Bra fitting help » east-west look, quadboob, wires to wide, cups not deep enough
Cleo » Lucy Balconnet Bra (5851) » 32J 32:13
Issue resolved
cleo lily (sister cuts to Meg and Alexa) - 32&34J quadboobed in both (worse was in 32J), not enough projection, gores did not tack, wires were painful. too small.
panache jasmine- 30&32J quadboobed a lot, gores did not tack. 32JJ fit much better, gore tacked, i could have used some more projection but in a bramergency it could work. wires were painful for me, unsatisfied with the bra because of this.
panache andorra- seems to be shallower than the jasmine, plus it has the same awful (for me) wires, won't bother with it
bravissimo alana- full on bottom friendly from what i read about it, i have concluded with the help of another member that i am top heavy, and would quad horribly (as eliza said in the comments) so won't bother with it.
bravissimo fleur- fullcup... not sure if i'll be able to fit it properly because of my shape
i *might* try fleur and (maaaybe alana) in the future if i have the means to do so
thank you everyone for your suggestions... i mostly failed but i appreciate your help all the same

i get a east-west look with this bra, i think it is because of the gore. the loose skin on my breasts affect how this fits. some times there is quadboob, sometimes there is gaping. it moves all the time. where there's "quadboob", it isn't breast tissue that's spiling over, but loose skin. it bunches up. if i push it into the cups, and smooth the edge of the cups it's a little better. when i first tried it on without adjusting the straps the east west look was much pronounced, when i shortened them as high up as they go improved the fit. i'm not sure if they're too far apart, but they move a little on my shoulders and i find myself pulling them "inwards" on my shoulders. gore lies flat mostly, the right side is usually crooked. my breasts are close together, 1 finger width (little less if i correct my posture). the underwire doesn't poke me in my armpits, but where the end of it lies it feels strange where it's pressing in. i have to move the underwires up against my inframamary fold, it slides down often. the band is a little itchy, some times it looks like its riding up just a little, i cant get a fist under it, but i can't stretch it far awau from my body.
i tried a 30K fantasie kara that was too big (very east to west look, but this could be because of too large cups), also underwires poked my underarms.
i also tried a 32HH cleo marcie, but there was quadboob, it was much more comfortable than the lucy, which was recommened to me because i think i am full on the bottom. i have really saggy breasts & loose skin due to significant amount of weight loss (still losing). i have a wide breast root, so i thought panache wires should be fine for me wire width wise, but i am also a little over 5' tall so i don't know if thats why it lays the way it does? when i pull my breast tissue etc towards the cups, the wires end farther back on my body, like close to almost being at the edge of my side, close to being past my back if that makes sense.
these are the bras that have been reccomended to me but i don't know if they'll be in any good, and i don't know which sizes to get.
panache jasmine
panache andorra
cleo alexa
bravissimo fleur

helpfulTry the Bravissimo Alana and the Cleo Meg (and similar styles, you can see this on the bra page here on bratabase). They have more depth, have full bands (this is a tripartite band), gores that are narrower at the top, and narrower wires. The Alana is more likely not to poke you under your arms.
I would try a 32J in the Alana and a 32HH in the Meg if you decide to go with those.

helpfulI'm see you in a bra that has a smaller center gore, higher, more narrow cups and cups that are closer to your body. Does anybody know of a bra like that? Like cups that come up over your boobs and then close up, so they aren't moving so much. And a smaller band might give you more narrow cups. I can't really see because there's just one far away picture. I get east-west look in my Lucy if I don't wear at least 1 extender. I think it is definitely a gore and cup width problem. The center gore is too wide. I don't know that much about Ewa bras that are polish but I'm thinking of them when I looked at the pictures. Maybe someone can suggest some bras that would contour to you better.

helpfulHi NBF,
The center gore looks much too wide for you, and the straps appear to be too far apart. I also have read that the "Lucy" is a good design for the shallow, wide-root shape, so I'm thinking you need a smaller bra. I can't tell if you need a different cup size because this band doesn't seem to be offering any support whatsoever. It does look like you need a 30 band. However, I have read additionally that Lucy can have an awkward fit on close set boobs. If you're not filling the bottom of the cups this bra may not be a good fit in any size because it's so wide. I think that's why the underwires are digging you as well.
My size isn't similar to you but my shape has similarities and I'm 5'2. My short torso is often trickier when it comes to proper bra fit than band or cup size. I like the Alexa a lot, but it definitely has a wide center gore and wide-set straps. I have found "success" with Jasmine and Andorra. They both have relatively narrow center gores and their shaping is very flattering for a short torso.
Also, I second everything Jillsas wrote. She really understands breast shape.

Wow maybe that is why I like my Lucy. It's for shallow breasts? I always learn so much ShaniSunAZ whenever I read what you write.

helpfulHi. Could you try taking a tape measure to measure your perimeter by measuring it as tight as you possibly can, without it becoming uncomfortable? The idea is to see what cup depth your boobs would be most comfortable with. I find it's a quite useful tool for rather empty boobs
My bet is probably mostly on Jasmine and Andorra. I think you would quad terribly in Bravissimo and that you should benefit from the stretchy lace on Jasmine and Andorra for this matter My biggest bet is on Jasmine.
Another way to figure out size; http://sizemapp.com what does it say? Start there

for the perimeter, i got 11, but my breast was like this as i measured tightly http://i.imgur.com/PEGAx4i.jpg
from the sizemapp i got 30J. i have a 32HH cleo marcie that i get quad boob in though....
also what sizes do you recommend i try for the andorra & jasmine?

helpfulI would recommend the Jasmine as well, and the Andorra. The Jasmine has a tighter band, and not as stretchy so that is going to give you more support. Also, it has a higher gore, but it looks like you have a little room vertically to fit it before it would squish your tissue. Because the wires will com up higher in the middle, it's going to give you more support and a better shape. My Jasmine was a very up front and center look, with a natural shape from the side view (not too pointy or round, in between).
The Andorra is a really nice full cup bra that has similar wires, etc to the Jasmine. It would give you more coverage so you wouldn't have the problem of the loose skin escaping or bunching up.
If your tight underbust measurement is closer to 30", you might want to go down a size in band too, for more support. Other than that, I can't really recommend a size to try for the cups.Updated on July 30, 2013 Flag this

helpfulHave you tried taking in the center gore on the Lucy? You can get a much more narrow look with it if you take a dart in the gore, pulling the cups closer together. Altering the gore this way also opens up the top a bit, which can stop the quad-boobing. A lot of people do not like the Lucy as-is but love it after alterations.
If it moves around a lot, I am guessing the band is loose. Lucy is known for having a loose band, you might do better in a 30... but then I don't know if you would fit in the cup
I also recommend the Cleo Meg, I have its sister styles Sasha and Alexa and I love them. I am also a big fan of Panache's Andorra and Jasmine.
The "empty space" under your bra straps is not cup space, it happens when women have a lot of projection to their boobs. So don't worry about that, It is normal.
