Panache » Jasmine Balconnet Bra (6951) » 30JJ 30:14
Issue resolved
I've decided that Jasmine is definitely worth a try in 30K, so I'll see about obtaining one before I decide whether it's going to be an okay bra or not.
Original problem
I'm just really puzzled right now with this bra, and my bra fit issues in general.
I've included pictures of me both lightly scooping into the bra (basically just pointing my breasts in the right direction) and doing a full vigorous scoop trying to include & direct all tissue. With a light scoop, there's a tiny bit of cutting in, but if I do the job properly, it's quite obvious that the bra is too small, at least in the way it sits on my frame.
I really want to like Jasmine, it's a nice, soft bra which gives a pretty okay shape and the wires aren't absurdly wide. Would the 30K fix my issues do you think, or will I still have problems and Jasmine is just a no-go altogether?

helpfulI'm new to bra sizing, and I don't know if I can help in the least, but I'll write what I observe in your pictures. Our sizes are different but I have a Jasmine with a 30 band (I'm currently wearing it in fact) and it's a great fit for me. I don't know the proper terminology, but to me the Jasmine is a "wide" bra. (I think of Curvy Kate as "wide" bras as well...if that makes sense.) I have separated, wide-root, full-on-bottom breasts (essentially a shape "opposite" of your shape) and my bra troubles stem from not being about to fill out the tops and the tips of cups. My first Andorras did the exact same kind of wrinkling/quad boobing at the tops of the cups that your Jasmine is doing and both 28D and 28DD. I don't know the technical reason for it, but a 30D Andorra fits beautifully and the cups shape themselves without wrinkling. So, going up a cup size may just work for you. However, I am not full on top (in the least). Again, I'm no expert, but, I consider the cups on Jasmine to run small (Andorra as well). In general, something about all Panache's styles seems to run smaller (or at least wider) than Freya and Curvy Kate.
I think Jasmine looks great on you. It seems to have nice uplift and shaping. Is it comfortable? It's such a lightweight, soft bra I think you should maybe try going up a cupsize and don't give up on it yet.
I don't know if I've helped in the least, because I've likely pointed out everything you already know...The Jasmine sure sits nicely on your shoulders from the back view.

helpfulI want to see a 30K to compare. I don't know if it would be more supportive to get more of your boobs down into the bottom section instead as now when a lot of it depends on the lace?
Also I really think you don't need to swoop and scoop your back in here, lightly scooped is well enough.

I'd agree with trying the 30K.. I don't want to say this is a no go, because I actually think it has potential for you. I know wire width is an issue for you and the size up I guess will give slightly wider wires.. but hoping its passable for you as it looks like it could be and I know you have alot of trouble finding suitable fits.

helpfulIf you want to make this bra work, I would try the 30K. Looking on the bratabase, I found that a 30K is going to give you about a 1/2 inch more depth in the cup, without adding much width to the wires (0.2"), or anywhere else on the bra (very slight difference in gore height, wing, etc). The bands are the same, so it should fit nicely in the back like this one seems to; you said it rides up, I found with mine (34FF) that the band was set high on the sides of the cups, so it was automatically a bit higher in back than the front bottom of bra, but didn't really move from there-maybe that's the case here? I think you should always fully SnS to make sure no breast tissue is getting squished anywhere.
All that said, I see from your breast shape list (and pics) that the gore is too high and squishing you in the middle and that you have a narrow root so these wires are obviously too wide.; I guess you'll have to try the 30K and decide if the 'cons' of this bra are worth it to keep it. I couldn't live with the middle of my boobs being squished all the time by the high gore, so I'm selling my Jasmine and going for bras plunge style/lower gores instead.Updated on July 30, 2013 Flag this

helpfulyour ribcage is soooo tiny do they make 28K? Is the band tight enough. I think cup should go up 1 size definitely. but would the band be too big then? I also think this bra looks good on you. So those are the only things I could think of on how to improve. No one likes quad boob huh?

Okie dokie. I may look into my local bra shop's policy on ordering things in, because that way I'm not stuck with international returns/trying to resell something which doesn't work. I know that Anna said that she found the 30K a lot bigger than the 30JJ, so I'll have to see how that works out.
I have really short boobs, so they're actually sitting down in the cups in the lightly scooped photos believe it or not :/. I'm the opposite of Vee who has a very flat root base. Mine curves quite quickly, so it sits smartly in the middle, but won't fill out the edges as I'm curving up again when the bra is still curving down. I actually think that me in 30KK - Panache » Harmony Underwired Balconnet (4031) is very illustrative of how bras don't work on me, in it's absurd exacerbation of fit issues.
