Issue resolved
I probably will not purchase Curvy Kate unpadded bras again. Otherwise, I think I will have to continue to experiment.
Original problem
This bra is very uncomfortable, provides very little lift or shaping, gives me sideboob and I'm a bit east and west. I'm hoping to find a Curvy Kate that would fit since they seem to have nice high sides to keep the breast tissue in. I own the CK Fleurty in 32D, the band is too big and the cups too small but it is surprisingly pretty comfortable. I've tried the CK Princess in 30E (cup wrinkles, looks too large), 28DD(small and uncomfortable), 28F (wrinkly). I think that's all of them. All of the CK models and bloggers appear to have the outer edges of the cup nice and high and holding the tissue in. But, when I try the bras in the seem to have too short of wires and wings. Obviously, I'm doing something wrong. I own the Lissi Balconnet by Change lingerie, it is the most comfortable, well fitting and supportive bra I own despite being the wrong size. I believe it has high wires and band(correct me if I'm wrong) and that's why my tissue stays in and it is comfortable. Any help would be great. CK or not, help please!

helpfulYour 30E is what my 32J do until I pull the straps very tight. Tight, I get perky, lifted, round boobs. Loose, my boobs run east west, they're saggy and the cup is wrinkled.
However - full on bottom is not commonly a good fit in Curvy Kate. My full on bottom boobs happily boost up, but I've got pretty agreeable boobs and well, more to shove around. I'm not sure the shove 'em around fun will work for you.

My non CK size is 32G-GG. In CK non padded, I need a 32H or 30HH. In the Showgirl type vertical seam pattern, I'm in a 32HH.
The straps being tight is the adjustment is by my collarbone. I really shorten the straps. For my boobs, in a non padded bra, I always need to have very short straps. It can be a sign of too bad fit, but if I go up a cup size, I can't pull straps tight enough and down a cup, I don't like the shape and I absolutely must have a 32 if not 34, so I know it's too small as I've learned my boobs don't go to the sides or up, they escape south.
But, that's me. I also think a benefit to large cup sizes is the fact I can get away with more molding to fit vs perfect fit always.

helpfulCurvy Kate unpadded typically doesn't fit well on smaller breasts. Furthermore, they are not known for their high sides. If anything they're known for low sides and easily distorted wires. I would guess that the reason you don't get a lot of lift in this is because your cups are slightly too deep. You can as Professor_Ace said, try tightening the straps to take some volume out of the cup, but honestly, if the straps are comfortable now, you'll probably have to go to extreme lengths to take volume out and that just isn't nice on the shoulders.

Huh, and I find Freya wires distort far more than CK. CK distorts more than Panache, but it's in line with Fantasie on me. But, the sides do start low. Which I love having a short torso. If the straps are dramatically shortened, the sides are a bit higher.
But, it's the fun of the same bra fits people differently. CK is a line that I can see being fussy to fit. Fantasie/Fauve bands run loose to me. Freya is ok, but a struggle to fit me. Panache, Cleo, Masquerade are sometimes drool worthy but they just do not fit me ever.

Just looking at the Curvy Kate bras you own it's no wonder you don't think Curvy Kate doesn't distort much. It's true, and I should have specified, showgirl bras don't distort that much. It's their unpadded stuff that distorts a lot, which is what happens to be slightly more relevant in this situation.

I actually own more unpadded styles, but I'm slow on the updates. I have only added the bra that doesn't fit, mostly due to being short on time. I've got 18 or so CK unpadded regular line bras. The Freya unpadded twists far more than any of the CK unpaddeds. The Freya fits, but the wire does move more.

It's probably a shape thing then.

I meant that the cup sides are high, not the wires. Does that make more sense?

helpfulI'm the same size as you. My breasts are wide and they are very "side oriented". I have a Curvy Kate Daily Boost, which, like you, I thought would be great because the cups have high sides (not the bra wings, the actual cups). I got a 28 band, hoping it would be really secure. Nope. The cups provide awesome lift and "front/center" positioning, but the very short wings and very stretchy band allow tissue fall out the sides of the cups during the first hour of wear! I think wearers with good forward projection might like the Daily Boost as it is. For me, if only the sides were taller I would love it. I haven't tried any unlined CK's because the cups look like they have too much depth for my shape. Panache Jasmine is, so far, the only unlined bra that suits my shape fairly well.

helpfulIs the bra sitting right under your breast tissue on the bottom of your breast or is the bra sitting a little low? The side photo (a little hard to tell since everything is all black so there isn't much definition on lines) makes it appear it might be sitting too low - along with that line on the first picture? I think if you pull it up higher then the wings would be more supportive.
How tight is the band? The photo from the back looks like the bra might be stretching quite a bit on the last hook?
It appears you might be fuller on bottom with a narrower root and are not filling out the top of the cup and having possibly some East/West movement because I think this bra just isn't compatible for you. Curvy Kate typically has slightly wider wires and I think you need narrower wires for you roots - though, I do not have a lot of CK experience nor do I actually know if you have narrow or wide roots. Have you determined your root or do you just think you're a wide root with narrow boobs? That's slightly contradicting to me.
Check out this blog post - http://fussybusty.com/2013/02/18/fitting-101-why-wire-shape-matters/ The proper wire width will help provide you with more uplift and less of a flat look which is what I think you're wanting (and basically every girl!)Don't get stuck on a brand just because you think they have what you want. Be sure to try a bunch of brands to find the right shape and style for you. Not all brands are created equal and just because you like one brand or model of bra doesn't mean that it is the right one for you It might not look right on you but you can find just as cute of a bra that gives you the right shape and awesome uplift that you want!

Do you mean tighten the band or use an extender?

helpfulIt looks to be me like there's insufficient coverage/wing height, but the cups arent quite deep enough at the bottom, and too loose on on top. I second what audilover says, especially about pulling up the wire if it's low.
We've very similar measurements and shape, and I have similar issues with Curvy Kate. It's definitely worth trying other brands; it's not (to my mind, anyway) the prettiest of bras, but you might find that the Fantasie Elodie in a 30DD fits you well. Also the Fantasie Celia (though the loose band is a pita). If you don't mind a bit of of bra DIY to bring in the top section, as it'll be too loose, the shape of unpadded Cleos like Melissa and Ellis (much easier fit than the Zia for me) might suit you.

Do you find many of the Panache Cleo styles are too rounded? I have the Natasha and Meg, and tried the Zia, and they are all pretty full on top? What's your experience?
-
I've not tried the Natasha, but I do find that I need a cup size smaller in the Meg than every other Cleo unpadded bra. I have the Bella, Melissa and Ellis, and whilst all of them are, as you say, too full on top for me, the actual depth is fine. I've tightened the lace top sections on the Melissa and Ellis; the Bella is a bit more difficult, so I've left it, but I find it tighter than the other two, and it doesn't show under clothing. The Zia didn't work for me as I couldn't easily alter the top. For me the shape I get is better than any other bras I've tried, and the wire width and cup depth is perfect, so I don't mind the compromise. Maybe give the Cleo Ellis (7211) a try in a 30DD and E and see how you go.

helpfulI don't know, if a Change bra fits you so well, you probably need wide wires and rather shallow cups. To me it also looks as if these wires were too small for you, sitting on your breast tissue at the sides (that's something which is impossible to tell for sure just from photos, though).
For most people in our size range CK unpadded doesn't work at all. You could try the Tempt Me or - if you like poking underwires and discomfort - the Thrill Me (both padded and discontinued but still available at Brastop, as far as I know).
Maybe this list could also help you: http://www.bratabase.com/profile/65y/adventures/2346/Updated on August 31, 2013 Flag this

I have the Fleurty, and despite being a cup size too small now, its pretty comfortable. The wires (cups?) seem to be wider than the unpadded CKs.
The Change bra wires and cups are too wide, but, I guess how shallow the cups are equals that out? Confusion. Thanks for the suggestions. :)

Do you find the Curvy Kate soft cups in your normal size look a little wonky until you tighten the straps quite well? Normally I can never fit a 30DD, its much too small. I normally wear E and F. Is that whay you mean by pulling the straps really tight? Thanks
