Bra fitting help » Should I worry about too wide straps?
Cleo » Darcy Padded Balconette (6821) » 30E 30:6
This bra is a dream in every way.....except the straps. They're a bit wide and irritate-y on my super-narrow shoulders and super short chest. But I can't sister size down because then either the band wont stay put or the underwire wont enclose all of my breast, which is super wide (runs in the family, actually). I've been running into this with SO many bras now (went to dillards today to try some on as well), should I just give up and deal with it since I like everything else about this bra? Should I keep searching?

helpfulHave you seen the clips that turn your straps into a racerback style? They pull the straps closer to your neck. I use them because I have narrow, sloping shoulders, and they work pretty well for me.

Make your straps looser before you put the clip on.

You can just attach your straps together with a ribbon or a string if your clips are lost somewhere. :)
This bra looks really good on you ! I love it

helpfulIt looks like you're wearing the bra way way way too low. It looks like you need to bring it up a good 1.5 cm to get it at your root. I found that wearing my bra higher up allowed me to size up in the band without everything being too loose, which in turn fixed my strap issues.

helpfulMany women have found some of the Cleo styles to have wide straps. You may have to google some reviews of different Cleo bras to find one that fits you better. Definitely try wearing it racerback, just make sure the straps aren't too tight or distorting the shape of the bra. You probably will never get a wired bra that is the correct size that leaves no marks on your skin. Since the bra presses against your body for hours there will be some marks, but the shouldn't hurt or be swollen as should disappear fairly quickly once you take it off.
Hope this helps

helpfulYeah, I'm wearing a sister size up now, and it seems to actually fit way better.
If you're good at sewing at all... I have a few bras that I'll be doing this alteration to
http://dressingcurves.blogspot.se/2012/03/alterations-moving-strap-position.htmlJust moving the straps in on the front
I haven't done it yet, but it looks relatively simple.

Thats an excellent idea! I used to have a couple around here....somewhere. I'll see if I can find one and try the bra with it and check back.
