Bra fitting help » why doesn't my gore tack
Cacique » Smooth Balconette (36851) » 44F 44:7
Issue resolved
I bought bras with a smaller band size and they fit beautifully.
Original problem
My gore doesn't tack and I'm not quite sure why. When I originally bought it, I tried on several 44Gs (albeit in a different style) and the gore stuck out /more/. I am at a complete loss as to why I'm having this problem and I want to figure it out, so I can start buying bras that fit properly.
I have this problem regardless of how I put it on, the lazy ploppy sort of method I use normally or the scoop and swoop I use when I'm thinking about it. It generally tacks better first thing in the morning, right after I put it on but as the day progresses the gore sticks out more and more.
Edit: going down a band size would be horridly uncomfortable, I get marks as it is and the elastic looks overstretched when I take it off.

helpfulI think you might need a smaller band size, that's usually the problem if the gore isn't flat to your chest~

I should probably mention that even on the largest hook setting, it's a bit tight and I worry that I'm overstretching the elastic. I was wearing a 42 band for a long time and that was horrid and the extender I bought was marvelous, so I highly doubt that I could go down one let alone two band sizes. Thank you though!
-
Were you in a higher cup size, though? A too-small cup can make a band feel too tight.
-
It was a smaller cup size.
-
I would definitely suggest trying a 42 band again in a G or H cup, then! How did the 44G fit, besides the non-tacking gore?
-
I tried the 44G on in March, but IIRC the cups were way too big.
-
I should add that it's very possible you're sized out of Cacique. If you've done the breast perimeter measurement right (and it's a super tricky one!), you probably want to find a bra with a cup depth of about 16-17 inches, which I think sizes you out of Cacique in 44 or below bands.
-
tinylobsters a 42G will be almost the same cup size as you have on now, but a smaller band. It will not be the same as the 44G.

helpfulI also think you need a smaller band. The bra is too big, that is why it does not tack.
It is okay for a bra to leave red marks. Think about your pants, or your tights: they leave red marks when you take them off, but they aren't damaging you. A tighter band will move around less and actually be more comfortable.
YOu mention below that you were also in a smaller cup while in a smaller band. Of course that won't be comfortable! Go down a band size and up a cup and you will be shocked at hoe well it works.
I think allifrack is probably right, though, you may be sized out of Cacique. It happened to me too! Now there's a whole new world of bras to explore

helpfulDoes this bra have underwires?

Yes.

tinylobsters How many seams does the bra have?
-
Seams? I'm not quite sure what you're referring to.
-
Most bras have multiple seams within the cup, if they're soft cups or unpadded. The seams within the cups give them structure. There are balconette bras (http://www.brastop.com/balconette-lingerie.aspx), bras with vertical seams (look at the curvy kate, tempt me or tease me), and molded bras (no seams but thick fabric gives the cups shape). What I'm getting at is that even if this bra is a correctish size (I would still suggest measuring yourself using the sizem ap) the bra doesn't have enough stucture to support your breasts. Once you measure yourself, I would suggest trying to figure out breast shape and them we (people of bratabase) can recommend bras with structure that would better support your breasts. Does all that make sense? If you want material to read I can give you suggestions, and perhaps advice for fitting larger bandsizes. :) Hope you find this helpful!

I think this is a molded cup or seamless bra, so no seams.
-
@synchrolover85 It's a balconette, so the outer colorful layer has 2 darts but that's it.
According to Sizem, I'm a 44L.
I added my best guess as to my breast shape/measurements to the post. :)

tinylobsters 44L Uk or US sizes?
-
synchrolover85 US, a 44HH in UK
-
Ok, I would recommend trying 2 bras, you may be able to find some at bravissimo (if you live in the UK, bra are much more abundant), or nordstrom/ nordstrom rack(look for elomi!), if you cannot find bras at either of those stores you can look for shops in your town (beware, most places have no clue how to fit bras!) or order bras online. For online shopping I would looking for elomi bras, as they come in a 44 bandsize (check herehttp://www.freshpair.com/womens/Elomi.html?CID=SEM-G&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Trademarks&utm_term=elomi&gclid=CPby7-ymwrkCFYtDMgodC0UAcQ , here http://www.herroom.com/elomi,Elom01,2.html?brand=Elomi&kwid=6e44d8036eeb4f858b71d86ef79ceb9a or check ebay) I would also recommend trying on a 42J, which may feel a little tight but sometimes people who have ribcages that compress easily find that rounding down in bandsize works for them (you can also check brastop for a 42J http://www.brastop.com/SearchPage.aspx?type=1&size=42J&brand=&colour=§ionid=&text= ) . Also for more fitting info check http://broodsbigbrasblog.com/?s=fitting , http://fussybusty.com/category/author/nicole/ , and http://www.venusianglow.com/2013/07/nsfw-pictures-of-breasts-with-broad.html . The first two are women with larger bandsizes, which may be easier to follow than someone who wears a 30F, the last is for general fitting info. This is a lot of information, I really hope some of this helps! Sorry if I overloaded you :)

I just got back from a trip to Nordstrom where I picked up two Elomis that tack! And they're 42Fs, which doesn't make me want to sob myself to sleep tonight.
The lady that fit me was super great and I'm probably never going to buy a bra elsewhere again.
-
tinylobsters I'm glad! That is so bizarre that the calculator was off by that much. Huh, I've never heard of anyone having such a huge size difference between what it said and a fitting bra..
-
It is a bit bizarre but my boobs are bottom heavy, which makes them hard to measure standing straight without a bra on. There's a 3 inch difference between with and without a bra on (without being larger) which may have something to do with it.
-
I second this! If the cup size feels ok other than the gaping, try going down to a 42G or even a 40H
