Bra fitting help » Space at the bottom of the cup?
Tutti Rouge » Birds Of A Feather Bra » 28G 28:9
Issue resolved
Go down a cup size or two.
Original problem
I don't get why I have so much space at the bottom. The wires are wide and I'm average (1.0) with shallow boobs (0.8) and close boobs. The straps dig into my sides, but I can't fill the bottom. Am I not shallow enough?

helpfulGo down a size. This is so big on you that you probably can't wear this at the right height. Also, the wires look pretty distorted. If you jiggle the bra up to as high as you can wear it without your boobs falling out the bottom, how does the band feel?

I'm not super sure, but it looks like the bra is too tall for you? So the height of the cups/wings or the shape of the armhole make it impossible to wear the bra in your inframammary fold. I had this happen with my 30K - Panache » Ariza Balconnet Bra (5051) . The wires were so tall that I couldn't fill out the bottom the bra, even if the cups were the perfect shape (they weren't, but that's neither here nor there...) as it was physically impossible for me to wear the bra high enough.

That's exactly it. There's volume in the bottom that you're not filling out. Furthermore, this is supposed to be a pretty low coverage bra and it's looking pretty 3/4 cup to me (instead of 1/2 cup). Furthermore, it looks like there's a pretty pointy shape going on, which means there's too much depth for you, and the top doesn't look filled out at all (it looks like loose lace). This looks two cup sizes too big for you, but if you're worried that will be too small for you, go one size down. This is classic reverse letterphobia here. It's too big in every dimension except for the band. Honestly, it looks absolutely gigantic on you.

I wonder if that will fix the straps from rubbing my arms as well. I guess itll go up on the listings.
-
Most likely since the cups won't be as large and therefore, the straps probably won't be as far apart.
-
These are really really far apart. It doesnt make sense though since not all women with big boobs have broad shoulders.
sigh. Its such a pretty bra. I wish it fit! I just found someone to send it too thoigh so hopefully itll fit her!

Hmmm, yes,I have this problem with a bra I altered (got it cheap and it's my "inbetween" bra till I can afford a new one),it's a bit too large, but mostly it's too deep for me top to bottom of cup,the depth is great from side to side of cup.I wish we could include measurements for the top to bottom depth as well as that factors in how a bra will fit.I'd rather wear this a little too big than my too small ones for now though. But the straps are very wide set on me..I had this issue with bras way too small for me,too.Say an F cup will still do this when I need around an H at this point. O.o the ideal place for my straps would be 2-3 inches over...like the placement I get in a DD. >_<
I believe also the fabric used with this bra may have something to do with it too. -
A lot of the bras i try on are like that. Just too wide. I think i have narrow shoulders. Im going to try doing an online fitting with tue butterfly collection once i get more bras.
-
I personally fixed this problem (and I have ridiculously narrow shoulders), by going up in band size and down by a few cup sizes. Too tight bands will pull the cups further apart and also the straps. The fact that this doesn't stretch longer than your ribcage measurement, makes me think that the band is probably too tight.

I get ridiculous space in the bottom of cups in a very stretchy 38F and the cups are too small and the band is too big at this point.I thought I could make a smaller cup work with a bigger band, but nope.
Not for me,anyways. Some people do very well with sister sizing, though. It's well worth a try if things aren't working. :)The only bra I didn't have issues with straps is the Andorra Panache, but I had other issues with it,so it didn't work.Maybe I'll try some other Panaches.I think the Andorra worked for you strap wise as well uniteacher ?

I'm curious now, what's your approximate size as of now (since there's a pretty wide variety of sizes in your added bras)?
-
I think you are talking to me?
Hmm...I believe I would be around a 38H or 36J maybe 36JJ in Panache judging by how the Andorra fit me and depending on how the fit of the individual bra is.I believe I may need a 38J or 36K in a few styles that run small, though not that often.
I do plan on trying an Ewa bra in a 40G cause it's the last of a bra that I've really want badly and from the reviews the band runs quite small,so I figured it would be worth a try. :) -
That will probably give epic cleavage (based on the size difference). I really think Ewa bras fit better when they're slightly too small compared to slightly too big.
-
I decided it'd be best to start on the smaller side with Ewa's bras and work my way up IF needed.I'm especially interested in the S Satine as it looks very versatile...can have push up pads in some of the time, but when I swell during my period I can remove them. :) Just worried about that high gore. :P

Jillsas , I'm usually, but it depends on brand and model, etc. a 28FF or G or a 30F or FF. The other bras I added were my sister's and mom's. For example, the bra in my icon is a 28G.

uniteacher ,this might be interesting for you to see. :)

Hmmmm interesting video. Seems that she also had issues that i had. Space at the bottom.of the cup and a super tight band. Looks like it might be nore of an issue of it being better for FOT boobs. So a shape issue. Thanks!
It feels ok, but tight. The thing is I don't understand how it can be too big when I can't stuff my boobs in the bottom at all :(
