Bra fitting help » will this bra work for me if 1 cup size up?
Cleo » Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) » 30E 30:6
Issue resolved
I tried 30F and it fits. 30FF and 30G would definitely be too big!!
This bra is however not ideal for my shape, I would prefer a little more open on top. The 30F almost cuts in a tiny bit, but if the cups were any bigger, they would be gaping everywhere else.
Original problem
When I got this bra, there was quadboobing and the cups felt "tight" all over. I thought the upper lace part was just too tight for me. Pictures are taken now during PMS and I´m quadboobing massively.
My question is, do you think 30F would work for me, or is this bra just the wrong shape for me?

helpfulI'm thinking maybe even two cup sizes up. It looks like then it might fall more where it should.

Yeah, it looks like the lace should start much higher. And, unpadded bras have a bit more leeway size-wise; tightening the straps can help a bit more than molded/padded :)

Fairy79 Definitely try 2 cups up. I wear 30F in this bra, and the top cuts in 30E, but not this much!

helpfulI think it would be worth trying in 30F for sure. The shape seems pretty compatible other than being too small.

Thanks for the suggestion!
I´m kind of afraid the shape will be anyway too closed on top, but maybe I´ll give it a try. -
Be sure to get it from a place with free shipping and returns just in case! I am not sure there are many other Cleos that are more open on top -- Marcie is about as good as it gets because of the stretch lace.

^Hmm.. my marcie´s top lace doesn´t stretch at all. Should it?? If it did stretch, it would be very good for me.
-
Marcie isnt stretch lace?
-
^Definitely not.
-
It's not stretch lace, it is just super open on top.
I agree that you could give it a shot in a bigger cup size. -
Pink runs small in the cups. Red wires are a tad shorter than the aquamarine on the sides. I'd get it in 30F aquamarine. they red Marcie I had was very FOT.
-
^Damn these colour-size variations... Thanks for telling that! :)

the only reason I know that is cuz I've been reading all the reviews and because I used to have a 28 F Marcie in red. If I was FOT I would be wearing a red 30E Marcie everyday. The bra was gorgeous. I had gotten it used and the band was super duper tight.

helpfulI definitely think you should try both 30FF and 30G, looks like it might work.

It was a sensible suggestion, you are quadboobing a lot, and until you find a cup that is too big you don't know for sure that the shape is wrong. I think it's a good idea wherever possible to keep sizing up until you do indeed find the size that is too big, I was advised to do this when I started out on this bra fitting journey and it's good advice.
Marcie is one of the most FOT bras there is, unless your issue is actually more one of being shallow with a tall root, then you're looking for something more like a half cup that allows room for that breast tissue which isn't technially FOT, just spread up a wrong way.
-
Ok, I see your point now. If I was trying the bras on while in an actual shop, I would definitely try your method, but now the only option was online ordering. I checked the measurements in Bratabase for different sizes and estimated that 1 cup size up is enough.
What comes to my shape, I think your description of shallow + tall root might be my case! This clarified a lot, thanks :)
Now after wearing the 30F for a while I can see a couple of very small wrinkles in the nipple area, that´s why I think 30FF would´ve been too big. I think this is the best I can get out of marcie.
Thanks for every advice!

Veggie I agree I was thinking that when I first saw the pictures. Better a little too large than too small again.
