Issue resolved
I lost weight, so this bra doesn't fit.
Original problem
Hi,
I ordered my first bra a few weeks ago and it finally arrived.
The pictures aren't good again, I took them with my webcam. The back pic makes it look like it's digging into my skin but it's not. It's more tight than I'm used to but it's not uncomfortable.
Does it look like it fits on the bottom half? My breasts do sit on the bottom but the cups fold a bit? The lace on top also folds. And then I also get a bit of quadraboob. It looks like it's empty where the cups connect to the straps but it does sit against my skin. Perhaps it looks like that because most of the top of my breasts has moved to the sides? How do I correct this by the way?
It honestly looks like it's too big and like it's small at the same time. Is this a full cup plunge? I think that the shape is wrong... On the bright side it doesn't hurt.
Sorry to bother you again but IDK what the hell I'm doing.

helpfulHi, I wouldn't rule out this style just yet! From the pictures it looks like you need more front to your bra, more cup space and less back. Increasing the cup size 1 or possibly 2 cups will give you a better fit but you will also need to take the band size down a little as it appears to be riding up a little. Before you consider doing this though it would be worth loosening your straps off as they look too tight and could be pulling the back of the bra up. If this is the case it may ease some of the squeeze that you're experiencing on the top of the cups! It's very often the case with plunge and full cup bras that the top of the cup doesn't sit flush against the skin where it meets the cup so I wouldn't concern yourself too much with this. Hope this helps a little

From a fitters point of view I wouldn't let a customer leave with the back that high. If the band is fitted correctly it shouldn't move at all when you move, it should move with you as opposed to against you. It should be sat at least an inch lower.
Why would you not want to up a cup size? Surely it it's more important to have a bra that fits comfortably than worry about what the label says.
-
The band honestly doesn't rise. It sits parallel to the cups and doesn't move unless I pull too hard, which is what I did before I took the pictures.
I don't want to go up a cup size because I have a hard time finding bras that I like that are bigger than an F. The last time I wore a bra that I liked (as in, I thought it was pretty and it also looked good on me) I was a 75D. I can't find bras to try on in Greece, so I guess that I'm just looking for the kinds of bras that used to look good on me. Which is probably wrong because my breasts have changed a bit. I don't like bras that cover most of my breast tissue or have a tall center gore and I like bras that bring my boobs to the center. So pretty much I like a bit of cleavage and I want my breasts to grow small again so I can wear half cups. Since it's not possible, I'd really appreciate it if you could suggest something that comes close to what I like. If you understood what I like, that is because when I write my english seem to fly out the window along with my ability to make what I want to say clear. "P

There are bras available in a whole range of sizes that will still give you cleavage :) The Freya Deco Moulded Plunge Bra (4234) is a common answer to "I miss my old bras because they gave me cleavage". Ewa Michalak sells a type of bra model called PL, and they have lots of those in different colors and prints. PL stands for plunge I assume.
-
I'm waiting to figure out my size before I buy from Ewa Michalak because I read that women tend to go up a size in order for her bras to fit.
I'm looking for plunges, then? Are all plunges the same when the cups are bigger or can I find plunges that aren't full cup? And do I need to go up a size? My boobs measure 41.3 inches when I'm naked and 40.1 inches when I'm wearing a bra.
My best old bra is a plunge and it has an insane amount on padding on the sides because I was hoping it would give me cleavage. My breasts measure 40.1 inches in it but they look bigger in the new bra which measures the same. And then I wear clothes and they suddenly look smaller than they do in my old bra. I really don't understand anything anymore. :P

helpfulI favor Fantasie bras but I have full on bottom and very soft. You appear to be fuller on top with more firm tissue (agreeing that the photos are not ideal, but no photo really is). So in my humble opinion, Fantasie lace/side support bras are not the ideal shape for you. Fantasie molded cup might work.

I thought that a new bra would solve some questions I had but it actually created more. My breasts used to be full on top but then I gained 80 lbs and I lost 90. Before that I was a 75D and I only wore half cups. Now, I have no idea.
If you saw my breasts you'd probably think that I'm barely a DD cup. The top of my breasts has completely disappeared and it looks like they've moved down my chest. Ι thought that it was just because they're not as firm as they used to be but now I'm thinking that the tissue that has disappeared may be under my arms? I expected this bra to be empty, at least on the sides but it found tissue to enclose and some of it is even spilling out over the underwires. But could I have that much displaced tissue? I just don't understand why a 32FF fits. :P
-
The way your boob are rounded at the top indicates more full on top (or possibly center and top. Or possibly just firm. Mine will NEVER look like that without duct tape and..no, even that won't work. This bra is ideal for full on bottom or center/bottom, someone who needs projection. My boobs do no fold in this bra, so I'm still calling it the wrong shape for you. Look for bras recommended by @BrasIHate.
-
So that's why it looks like it's empty on the bottom? I thought that it was big because of that. It looked different on the model. I'm looking into that now, thanks! Both for the advice and for calling my boobs rounded, noone's called them that in years. :P

helpfulI'm not really sure what to advice you on here... I really don't think the band is too big, like some have suggested. I think it's a matter of the band just being designed that way (slight upside-down-U shape). Also, you should be aware that when a bra's straps are too wide-set (when they're interfering with your arms), your arms fight the cup. It's like... The area of the cup close to the armpit can never be fully "used", because it's set too wide. It looks to me like the cups are interfering with your armpits here, and that can throw off the whole fit of a bra. Too wide-set straps can create gaping and it can also make the band travel upwards and not sit where it's supposed to. Why? Well... Throughout the day you use your arms and with each reaching-out-movement the bra digs in even further in your armpits, it's just not stable because of the misfit. I have a hard time explaining certain things because they're fairly new to me as well, but that's my best guess.
The cups come up too high where the straps are, you'd do much better if the cup was about 4-5 cm lower there. I sadly have no bras to recommend you =/

I'd like for the bra to be about 4-5 cm lower everywhere but I guess I'll never find one like that...
I don't think I understand what you're saying about the armpits (I'm ESL)but I put it there because I have displaced breast tissue and I thought that it would help. Of course, what actually happens is that the bra moves as soon as I slightly move my arms. :P How do you find a bra that doesn't have wide set straps? And how do you know that you've found it?
-
The thing is... When you're trying to cover the displaced breast tissue, you're making sure the underwire covers everything from the side, and the cup fabric from the side. The problem is that the straps are barely resting on your shoulders then. Ideally the straps would be set narrower to begin with, so that they wouldn't rest so far out on your shoulders when you put your bra on correctly (from your description I think you DO put on your bra correctly = making sure no breast tissue is left outside of the cup). Trust me, you will know when a bra's straps aren't wide-set :) As of today, I'm sure the bra chafes you in your armpits (at least after prolonged use), a bra with straps that are NOT wide-set will not bother you at all.
-
I try to cover the displaced tissue but it doesn't work. The bra doesn't stay there anyway but I'm also used to pulling the straps up and towards my neck all the time because all my bras (so, the one bra I've been wearing every day for the past six months --thank God I'm single) have insanely loose straps.

helpfulSounds like you have a bit of orange in a glass going on. I could be wrong, but it seems like the right size for you but the wrong shape. Maybe that means you're FOT?

I guess I am full on top. I never would have believed that until today... The moar you know. Thanks!
-
I could be wrong, of course. You may want to do some google detective work :)
-
I have this bra and I'd say it's good for people who are somewhat shallow all over, so I'd say it's a good even bra. My guess is that you're actually more full on bottom but the cup doesn't accomodate it.
-
I honestly can't imagine how shallow all over looks right now... I read the post on Bras I hate & love and I'm definitely full on top, though.
-
Also, this bra I think has a strange construction. If you have the money, I'd recommend getting three bras, an open on top bra (like the Marcie), an even bra (like anyone of Panache's stretchy lace bras), and a full on bottom bra (like the Alana, Tango, etc...). I'm really not convinced that you're full on top necessarily. Additionally, there's a ton of people (I would guess at least half of all women) that the BIHAL test does not work for, myself included. The best way to tell is to try out bras unfortunately.

helpfulI think this would be better if there were more space int he bottom of the cup. Perhaps you should try some of Freya's unpadded stuff (especially, just looking at the construction, the Freya Fan-tastic Plunge Balcony Bra (1511) and the Freya Gem Balcony Plunge (1361). You might prefer those in 30 or 32 (I've heard Freya's been getting tighter with their bands).

The Freya one is actually one of the bras that I had in mind. I'm almost ready to order two Gossard bras because they're gorgeous and because I love the brand but I haven't seen anyone in my size wear them. Would it be a huge mistake to buy them? I'm having a very hard time finding a bra that I like... I never thought I'd miss being a 75D so much.
I don't think that there isn't enough space for my breasts at the bottom... Having read the post at BIHAL, it's so obvious that I'm full on top that I don't even know why I had ever thought otherwise.
-
I'm curious which post you're talking about. I agree with BIHAL on a lot of things, but a lot of the things she says doesn't translate well to other body types (for example, the bending over test only works well if your breast tissue is fairly firm).
I agree that there's not enough space in the bottom, which is why I think you're probably more even than full on top. My guess is that your bottom breast tissue cannot settle because there's not enough space for it.
Gossard is interesting. Some of their stuff is really pretty obviously, but I would avoid their Superboost line altogether. It's too shallow to work on almost anyone's breasts. I really don't know much about their other stuff, but I do adore a lot of their stuff (especially their retro swimwear). I really don't know that much about their other stuff, other than their colour clash bra is very closed on top and very deep.
-
I started to think that I was full on top when I read the word rounded. My boobs used to do that and they still try to when I look under this bra. They're just weirdly shoved in all my bras now. If there's such a thing as even, I could be that but I don't think that I'm FOB.
Of all the brands I see, Gossard is the only one I know. I always wore a Gossard bra when I went shopping and I always asked for something just like it. I'd like to find something that I'm familiar with and use it as a starting point. Or at least I'd like something that didn't cover up my entire breasts and that shoved them together. Unless I travel abroad, I don't think I'll ever find something that fits perfectly, anyway.
-
Part of the higher coverage thing is larger sizes. Remember to not go overboard with getting a too large size. That's a fairly common problem. I'd recommend the Deco. It's fairly low coverage and gives epic cleavage on most. Likely 32F or 30FF because it runs large in all dimension. Works pretty well on FoT and even breasts.
-
I found a diagram on reddit and I'm certain that I'm even now.
A friend has a British friend who just figured out that she is a 32GG. She had a Freya Patsy in 32G and she sent it to me for free because she's awesome. She only had it for two weeks, so it's as good as new. It's the most comfortable bra I've ever worn. My breasts sit on the bottom but I do think that it covers them up more than it's supposed to, the underwires are too wide and there's some empty space on the sides, too. And the band is loose. So, it's definitely too big.
But my burned breast almost doesn't hurt. I waited a few days before I posted because the Fantasie didn't hurt at first either but after a few days, the pain came back. With this one, it hasn't. It does feel like it's squashed in the bra, which is what causes the pain, but it hurts too little and I don't get the shooting pains I normally do. The pain was the reason why I started looking for a bra that fits... If I have to wear a bigger bra in order to stop the pain, I'm inclined to keep doing so. Especially since I'm the only one who can tell that it's big.
-
Perhaps it's not bigger, but narrower with more projection that you need, that way your breasts aren't being squashed. Brands like Bravissimo and most Polish brands have narrower projection cups. This way you won't have the too wide wire or too shallow problem.
-
So, I'm looking for a bra with narrow underwires, which is good for projected and wide set breasts and is a 32FF? Ι bought the Freya deco yesterday and I contacted the store before I bought it and gave them my measurements. I was told that I probably need a 32G or a 32GG and I didn't believe her but I got a 32G anyway because at least it won't hurt as much.
I know that my breasts are bigger but I really don't see it. I completely understand why saleswomen think that I'm a 36D. I don't look as big as other women who are this size. I've been wearing the Patsy for 12 hours and my boobs feel too squashed and I have both the constant dull ache and the shooting pains and I can't stand wearing it anymore and it just doesn't make sense. They make me go through all this trouble, and I even make complete strangers go through the trouble of helping me find a bra, they could at least look like they're supposed to. :P Seriously, thank you so much for replying every time to all my rambling! I really appreciate it and I wish I could do something for you in return.
-
Perhaps. You should know that the Deco runs nearly a cup size large. I can't remember how you felt about no padding, but padded bras have a tendency to be shallower than nonpadded. There are some very comfortable non-padded bras, particularly Freya (they have narrower wires more depth, and use pretty soft materials and their wires are flexible, which might be an advantage for you).
-
I don't mind non-padded bras since I tried the Savannah. It used to be that the material was very uncomfortable against the burn but I guess it was the combination of too small a cup size together with the material. I still don't like lace like the one on the Savannah on the burn, though.
And a last thing, I can only hope: it's the cut of the Savannah that make me look pointy, right? So, if I want them rounded, I need a bra that has seams like the ones on the Patsy?
-
Not necessarily. Round shapes usually arise from shape compatibility. For example, the Freya Lauren is pointy on most but is extremely round on me due to shape compatibility. Braless in Brasil is one of the few people who gets an extremely round shape from unpadded Fantasie bras because it suits her shape well. And then there are bras that are also three part that almost always give a round shape in the right size, like the Cleo Marcie or Cleo Lucy.
-
Then how do you know if a bra is compatible unless you try it on?
-
Previous reviews mostly. I prefer non-padded because they hold the girls in place better.
-
The back doesn't ride up. It may look like that because I'm leaning forward and to the side. Also, I had just adjusted my breasts for the pictures and then forgot to adjust the band. I did loosen the straps but it didn't help. I also used an extender because the band was a bit tight at first but that didn't help, either.
What concerns me the most is the way the cups fold. You can almost see in the last picture that the cup makes a dent on my breast. It's not empty, it just folds over the skin and forces it to wrinkle and spill out.
I'm not used to cups that are as full, either. I miss wearing half cups. I don't really want to go up a cup for that reason. I'll never find bras that I like and that look good on me. :P
