Issue resolved
Suggestions below will helpful, will look for other brands
Original problem
I ordered 5 bras from the UK and this is the only one that even vaguely fits As I wrote in my review, I like the shape/cut of the cups overall (padded half cup) but the wires are not right for me. I'm not sure how well it shows up in the photos, but I'm not filling up the very bottom of the cup and the wire seems to go too wide under my arm. Should I be looking to try another size? Or do I need another style or brand completely?
I'm finding the higher wires in the front (gore?) also poke my sternum a bit. I'm getting desperate for a bra that fits!

helpfulThe simple answer would be that the shape of this bra is simply wrong for you and that you'd be better off looking for bras that are narrower in the wire and more projected, especially in the bottom of the cups. HOWEVER, I'd encourage you to try the following to see whether this really is the issue here:
The combination of empty cup bottoms, poking at the sternum and wires that slope away towards the sides MIGHT be an indication of one or a combination of the following three things: (1) a too tight band, (2) a too large cup, or (3) wearing the bra (relatively) too low in the back. Going by the numbers you provided the band doesn't seem too tight in an absolute sense, but the cups DO look somewhat tilted backwards, which, in my experience, may account for the poking, bottom emptiness, and the wire angling away from your breast root. Whether this is indeed the case is quite easy to test:
From your photos it seems to me you have a rather tapered ribcage, which means you may indeed need to angle the bra up slightly to get the wires to sit properly on your body. This is quite common amongst woman with a tapered ribcage and has absolutely nothing to so with allowing the band to ride up! To try and see if this is the case for you as well you have to pull the wires and wings up at the side when you put the bra on so they sit more vertical and closer to your breast root. Subsequently, the band needs to be pulled up in the back as well (note that you may need to use an extender, because your measurement higher up will be somewhat larger). Doing this SHOULD also free up some space in the bottom of the cups and, hopefully, alleviate the poking at the gore. Bend over forward, gently swoop your breast tissue into the cups, and check the wires are situated neatly where they should be. Stand back up. adjust the straps as needed and reassess the fit of the cups and wires.
Now, there's no guarantee this will result in a better fit, but there isn't much harm in trying

Ah, too bad it didn't work as I do agree that this bra otherwise looks pretty good on you :(
Many people actually bend the wires to get rid of poking at the centre gore, but if you feel the wires really are way too wide then there isn't really any point in trying this.
And Freya is indeed known for narrow-ish wires, but as Jillsas already mentioned, that doesn't apply to these padded half cups.

helpfulIt looks like you're wearing this too low, I think shuffling it up will fix a lot of your problems, but I also agree with what MilkAndHoney has said. It won't fix the fact that the gore is too high and that the cup is too wide.

Hi again Jillsas ! You helped me out before. Yes...I was being a doofus and didn't hike it up enough. When I tried it on a second time, I did just that and it fit much better! Except the wire. I was hoping someone might know of a similar bra type that has narrower wires. I thought Freya was a company that did tend to have narrower wires, but I guess I was wrong...

Freya's unpadded stuff is narrow (except the Marvel), their padded half cups are wide.

Ah, that's unfortunate. Thanks for the information

helpfulHello I'm really new to this so what I comment on may be completely wrong!
Firstly, are you 100 percent sure that your perimeter is only 22cm? You look a bit bigger than that in my opinion. Did you take the measurement bending over?
I think you should try the Ewa Michalak CHP or CH styles as they have very narrow wires, are half cups and have immediate projection at the nase of the cup. I think you should stick to the 30F/70F size, possibly even FF!
Sorry I can't be of more help!

Thank you srra, I will definitely look into those styles! I'm pretty sure I'm only 22cm haha, maybe I will measure again. The 30Fs that I've tried on seem to be the right size but wrong styles, but it also varies much by brand which is frustrating - one day I'll get it right

MilkAndHoney Thanks for the quick reply! I tried out your suggestion and it did help a little bit, there was slightly less room not being filled by the wings and by hiking it up I was filling the bottom of the cup. However the wires in the front were still poking :/ and the wires on the side were poking more than before. The cut across my breast works very well (I think? I'm new to this "wearing a bra that fits" thing). But the wire isn't right... I thought I read somewhere that Freya has narrow wires too.
I'm hoping maybe I can find a similar style but with more narrow wires... Shame because the bra itself is REALLY pretty.
