Issue resolved
I sized up in the cup and ta-da! No more bulging.
Original problem
I have recently ventured into the realm of "trying to find bras that actually fit me." For the past four years, I've been wearing some 38B bras which I knew didn't fit right, but I didn't really want to bother with finding bras that fit me because it's frustrating. However, those bras eventually became too much to deal with and I have gone on trying to find what works. My way of doing that has been to buy a whole bunch of bras off Amazon, then send back what doesn't fit. Nothing fits. Sometimes, it will feel fine, but it does not look fine. The Cleo Lori is one of my most recent acquisitions. The top of the cup gapes in a 34F, but I get a quad-boob effect from the centre seam. Every Cleo bra I've tried gives me a quad-boob effect from the centre seam. I don't know why. I get that something is wrong, but I don't know how to identify what it is that's wrong that causes such an issue. Any Panache, Freya, Curvy Kate bras I've tried have not done that to me. However, those bras all gave me a rather pointy side profile, so maybe it's that whilst I want a rounded look, my boobs aren't made for it? I don't know. Aside from that, the gore seems to be a good width and the wires don't feel -too- wide, but the band feels too stretchy or too big, the fabric is comfortable and so pretty. It's such a shame about the cups, though.
I don't get any of this. I have no idea what I'm doing. Either the wires are too wide or the gores are too narrow or the cup is too small, but then I size up and it's too big and then if it fits my left boob, my right boob is gaping and I just can't find a single bra that works for me. There's always some sort of issue. I'm so tired of trying on bras. I give up.

helpfulHave you put your measurements into a calculator? I think this bra is 1-2 cupsizes too small, based on the amount of overspill and tissue coming out of the sides. I would put your measurements into sizeemapp.com and take that into consideration, but I would also try a 32G/GG with wider wires, maybe curvy kate or masquerade. I think the masquerade medina or delphi may work, as they have more projection and wider wires.

Try a bra without that diagonal seam, if your breasts are soft, or fullest in the center then they will spill over diagonal seams. Try something with vertical seams, like the freya patsy http://www.belle-lingerie.co.uk/2376/Freya/1223-Freya-Patsy-Padded-Half-Cup-Bra-Black/

I've been trying to find vertical seam bras that I like, but I haven't seen much yet. As for not wearing any diagonal-seam bras, this issue only happens in Cleo bras. Every other brand I've tried with a diagonal seam has not given me this effect, but I shall keep your advice in mind.

helpfulIt seems to me you're full on top, which I think is why this happens in Lori. Although the Lori works to accommodate upper fullness I'm thinking you might be a bit shallow, causing the wrinkling on top, because you don't project enough. (But I could also be completely off on this, since I'm full on bottom myself, I don't have much experience in this field) I'm thinking maybe try the Marcie style if you want to stay with Cleo. However, when it comes to Cleo I too have noticed that my boobs look super pointy in their unpadded bras. Maybe that's just their thing, or both of our shapes are wrong.

Thank you! And it's not that I'm trying to stick only with Cleo-- I'm very open to any brand that will give me a good fit. It's just that this quad-boob effect only along the centre-seam happens only on Cleo bras (so far) and I had no idea why it was happening.

helpfulYou probably need this size in a more projected full on bottom bra (like the Bravissimo Alana, Fantasie's Balconettes, Freya, Cleo Lily and Meg, Ewa Michalak CH), or the size down in projected full on top bras (like the Cleo Marcie and like cuts, Freya Deco, Panache Jasmine and Andorra). Are there any brands you're interested in? I might be of use for figuring out what size you might need in a brand (or if you should even bother with them).

I am very much intrigued by the Ewa Michalak bras.
The only brands I've tried on so far are Panache, Cleo, Freya, and Curvy Kate. Of all the bras from them I've tried, on me, I liked the Cleo Lucy and Freya Marvel best. The Cleo Lucy still gave me a bit of the quad-boob like the Lori does, just not quite as pronounced. The Freya Marvel's wires are too wide and the cups too shallow, but I did find it very comfortable and I liked the openness on top.
All of this bra stuff is new to me. Ever since I started wearing bras, I just went with whatever Gilligan and O'Malley bra I found most comfortable out of whatever few I tried on that day at Target, then bought one in every colour they had and just dealt with whatever issues it had for a few years until I decided to finally buy new bras.

EM might be a decent option for you since they have a fair amount of projection. If you're in 34s in other brands, I'd try them in and 80 band (except in their models that run loose, though I'm not sure which ones those are). I should specify that when I say Freya I mean their unpadded balconette stuff like the Arabella, Ooh La La, Polyanna/Piper cut, etc...

That makes complete sense. After I read this, I tried on the 34G Lucy bra I got on again, despite thinking it had been too big, but yeah. It fit. I can see now how the 34F is obviously too small, I just was fixated before on the, "if it's too small, it will bulge over the -top- of the cups." I didn't even think that bulging in the middle would mean the same thing. XD
I wound up getting this bra in a 34G and whilst there's some gaping in the top of the cups, I believe it's just that I'm not full enough on top to fill them out, but I've decided to keep it anyway because I like this bra. (I also tried on a 34FF, but the cups were too small, so I'm pretty certain the gaping was lack of fullness than an issue of the cups being too big. Or maybe it is and I'm between sizes? Eh.)
Thank you so much!
