Bra fitting help » Freya Deco - visible lines under clothing
Freya » Deco Moulded Plunge Bra (4234) » 36G 36:9
Issue resolved
Returned it and exchanged it for some Gorgeous (Debenhams own brand) multiway bras and the Deco Charm, which weirdly enough fits really well. Odd.
Original problem
Hi everyone.
I would love to know what everyone thinks is wrong with this bra so I could find the right shape and style for my bust as I think plunges just don't work for me, especially not this one...
First off, this bra is in my normal size of 36G. I tried on a band size and a cup size down (34G) as this seems to be the common thing with the Deco, but the band was uncomfortably tight. This one seemed fine in the store and I was desperate for a nice nude t-shirt bra so I ended up getting it. However, I made the mistake of trying it on under a very forgiving thick-ish viscose shirt that doesn't tend to show up bra lines, so you can imagine my horror when I tried it on at home under a t-shirt...
The only thing right with the fit of the Deco on me is the band size which still feels a little tight. As you can see, I'm getting really bad lines under clothing but I can't figure out why. I don't think the bra is too big, in fact I would verge on it being too small as I'm spilling out of it, then again I have soft breast tissue which could be why I'm spilling out in the middle. I also think my boobs are more full on top but I lack volume. Should I try another size or give up on the Deco?
I will be taking this one back to exchange it and any recommendations you can give me would be very much appreciated. I'm thinking balcony style bras may be more suitable for me.

helpfulI sooo understand the desire for a simple T-shirt bra! The Deco may end up not being compatible with your shape, but this one is a bad fit for sure. I can see in image 5 that the gore is not flat and you have serious quadraboob, so I would guess that the cup is too small. However, you may find that a larger cup means wider wires and taller sides, which may or may not work for you. It's a great bra when it works, so I would definitely try a cup or 2 up.

helpfulHave you tried on the fantasie rebecca or fantasie smoothing tshirt bra? Both of them have higher gores.

Hi! I tried on the Fantasie Smoothing T-shirt bra but the cups were way too deep for me, there was a lot of extra space in there. I have the same issue with Elomi as well.

helpfulI found that the Deco just doesn't work for me, with very similar issues. I was somehow getting quadboob and somewhat gaping at the edges at the same time, and it looked awful under clothes. It almost worked when it was the right size, but the moment my boobs outgrew it just a bit it looked like that.
I find myself also on the search for a new moulded cup t-shirt bra. Sigh.Updated on March 23, 2014 Flag this

Sounds like we have more or less the same problem with it - at the top of the cup where I have some loss of volume it tends to gap. If I sit very still I can almost get it to work... but that isn't too practical when it comes to bras. :D

It's a nightmare isn't it? I think much taller and the wires would start to poke... I may see if they have a 36GG (don't think Freya go to a H cup) when I next go but I seem to have some gapping at the top of the cup, I guess where I have loss of volume, so a larger cup size would just exaggerate that! :(
