Bra fitting help » Is the bra the right size or is just the wrong style for me?
Chantelle » Cachemire 3-part Cup (3371) » 75H 34:8
Issue resolved
Deeper projection, less volume bras are definitely fit better
Original problem
Bra wrinkles at top indicating cup may be too large, but I'm overflowing on the inside, particularly on the left breast.

helpfulI don't see the overflow at all, can you expand a little on what you mean by that? Do you perhaps mean that the breasts are not separated by the gore and are just resting together at the center? If the same thing happens once you're in the right size it may mean the gore is too wide and can't fit between your close set breasts. However, this is not meaningful when you're in a cup that is vastly too big for you, which is the case here: you have extra space at the top, underneath AND on the outside... definitely more real estate than is needed!
If you like this particular model I'd try it in a G cup and then if that still seems a little loose and roomy, try an F. I think it might work in the right size. It's a very supportive style that I like a lot.

By the size below do you mean 75G, or 70H? Which problem was worse in the smaller size?
I'm underwhelmed by the fitter's attitude in this case. You may well be fuller on the bottom than on top--many, many women are (although veggie's view that you may simply require a deeper cup than most seems just as plausible). But being full on bottom can't make a bra loose and wrinkly above, AND below the breast, AND on the outer side the way this one is, so methinks she was reaching a little with this explanation. Also, for the fitter to speak as if this was some sort of extraordinary fit problem, and to claim this was therefore THE BEST she could do for you is rather questionable-- unless you had already tried on 30 bras or they have made it a policy to stock extremely few bras in larger cups--but really, the 34F, G, H options should not be THAT scarce if this store is anything like the Nordstroms I have been to around the USA!
I have definitely had inexperienced fitters chalk up every single fit issue to breast shape, but this is inaccurate (as well as a bit offensive to the customer, making her feel like some kind of oddity). There IS such a thing as the wrong size!
On the other hand if this is the size that's required to fit the depth of your breast, fine, but this would simply mean that this bra would be thoroughly uncomfortable for you and in that case no responsible fitter would attempt to sell it to you. -
My sense is that the fitter was conscientious and trying hard.
With respect to your question about other sizes, it was a 75G.

Sorry I went off on a rant there...! I'm sure you are right that the fitter was doing her best. I guess my point should be simply that I'd expect a well-trained fitter to manage a more supportive fit for you unless her department was really shockingly understocked in the F/G/H range.

I think there was a dearth of product in my size range.

helpfulIt looks too big and too shallow. You don't mention it in your fit problems, but from the first picture it looks like the bra is buckling under your boob- I have that same problem in a Lot of bras, that means the bra is too shallow for you. Like, instead of the cup being a sideways U like you need, it's more of a gentle sloping ), so even if it had the right amount of volume, your boob just wouldn't fit in that cup because it's just not the same shape that your breasts are. Does that make sense? I feel like I explained it super confusingly

Your explanation is quite good and clear. Thanks for your help. I suppose I need to find a bra with a narrower wire, but more projection. If you have any ideas, I'd be most appreciative.

I looked a lot like that in a Chantelle. They are too shallow for pendulous or full on bottom boobs. So in general I'd say look for another brand, or at the very least another Chantelle style (skip Rive Gauche too).

Thanks for your suggestion; I will look for another style/ manufacturer.

helpfulI agree with veggie. My mother looks similar to you, she has has luck with Fantasie and Freya balcony bras.
You could try the Fantasie Helena Balcony 7710 or the Fantasie Belle Balcony 6010. Freya Faye 4201 might also be interesting. Note that both Faye and Belle Balcony have very stretchy bands, consider going for a 32 band in those.

Thanks I will check them out.

Thank you for your comments. I am still somewhat in a quandary.
This bra was fitted by one of the bra fitters at Nordstrom's. We tried the size immediately below the 75H and it was even worse. I complained about the wrinkly top and she said my breast was "top-light, bottom heavy"- making the fit less than perfect. She indicated that there wasn't a lot in stock at the store to fit my breasts any better.
