Bra fitting help » Cup wrinkles BADLY in my usual size but no gaping? Wrong size or shape?

Issue resolved
The bra has the wrong cup shape for me. In the future I need to look for bras that have vertical seams only because my breasts don't project very much. However, they're not super shallow either. I'll return it.
Original problem
I am pretty sure this is just the wrong cup shape for me and I should leave this bra in the dust but I guess I may be in the wrong size too. Either way I get the feeling unpadded bras don't work. I'm not sure since I am fairly new at this. This is the worst fitting bra I own of three that are all the same size, but somehow the most comfortable. The other two are a Natori Feathers that fits OK with gaping on the bottom outer edge of the cup with minor quadboob, and a Wacoal La Femme Contour that has too much projection around the nipple area. Basically I am looking for advice on what my breast shape is (pretty sure it's shallow) and other bras/sizes to try. I think 28Fs may be better for me overall than 30Es but Nordstrom doesn't carry 28 anything and that's the only store I have access to besides Figleaves, eBay, Brastop, etc.

helpfulDefinitely wrong shape. Fantasie Salsa is meant for very projected breasts, it just does not work on a shallow shape.
Since you find it comfortable, I can only assume that the wires and the bottom part of the cup fit you well. Take your cues from that, look for bras with similar wire width.
The Natori Feathers is very shallow, since you got gaping at the sides and quadboob it is probably too shallow for you.
I think you could try Cleo Lucy, the unpadded Cleo bras tend to work well on shallow shapes. Panache Andorra Fullcup might also be worth looking at, it has stretchy lace in the upper part of the cup and works good in larger shallow shapes. 30 E/F is the turning point, so the Andorra could also be too deep and give you similar troubles as the Salsa, but maybe not. Hard to predict.

helpfulAs a shallow-boob-haver, one almost fool-proof way to find a shallow bra is to look for bras with vertical seams and ONLY vertical seams.
You can find some more info regarding that here:

(particularly look at her gallery of trying on vertical seam vs non-vertical seam bras)and here:

That is super helpful and I love the Masquerade bra she has. It's much easier to find a bra with a cup of a certain seam for cheap in my size than a certain brand/style of bra. Thank you!

helpfulI was ready to blame the style of the bra and the generous, deep cups, but you say you have mad wrinkling AND the wires are too wide.. too deep + too wide means it's genuinely just too big regardless of whatever design issues also exist. Some styles just run big in the cups, period (be it width or depth). So just file away in your mind that you may be a cup smaller in certain bras.
That being established, since this is obviously a deeper than average cupped style, it may not be worth persisting with. You're obviously not super projected, but I'm not getting "super super shallow" vibes from these photos either, so you may only be moderately shallow (it's actually starting to bug me how often we talk about shallowness for women in this size range... it seems more people with your build are shallow than not, so maybe we should just call this the average depth for small bands in Fs and under...!)
Before going straight to the styles that are considered best for distinctly shallow boobs, maybe try a variety of styles in the middle of the road range, not crazy deep, not super shallow.

I agree I probably have moderately shallow boobs especially as the Natori Feathers was a little uncomfortable. Good for me to remember there's a range between projected and shallow, sometimes it seems like there's only one or the other. Thanks.

helpfulIt IS the wrong shape, but it's also the wrong size (for that particular bra, not necessarily for you in general) by one or two cups too big.
You don't have to give up on unpadded bras, they can definitely fit you! On the other hand if you don't like them that much, don't stress it.

I can't decide if I like them or not. Some do come in pretty designs but I'm concerned about putting a shirt on and then looking like I'm not wearing a bra. I guess I'll figure it out once I get an unpadded bra in a shape that's better for me. Thank you :)

i love them because i dislike the "armor" feeling of molded bras and like being able to feel my skin. I don't think it will look like you're not wearing a bra, but time will tell :)

I didn't even think it would be possible for a bra to be too shallow for someone my size! Ha. I have a lot to learn. I'll look for those models - they have been suggested to me before too, but I haven't been able to find them in my budget.
