Issue resolved
Got a new bra, gave up on this one as not fitting.
Original problem
I'm fairly certain the band ran small because it feels very tight. When I get everything settled in place, I feel like there's more 'hanging out' than there should be? Almost a quad-boob effect. It also feels like there's a lot happening underneath my armpit that maybe should be contained somewhere? When I measured myself, I fit right into the 30C range, and was recommended this style of bra. Do I just need to try another size, or should I try something else completely? (apologies for the photos, I know they're not the best)

helpfulThis cup is definitely too small for you. The tight band may be riding a little too low on you (it is also digging in a LOT--more than I'd expect on a leaner torso--although this could be due at least partly to cup sizing). However, to my eye, the cup looks unambiguously both too narrow and too short (vertically). It looks like this style runs small in the cup and is also very shallow. This is a common problem in padded plunges in your size range. How about trying a 30D in this bra, or a 30C in an unpadded style?

helpfulThe cups on this bra is definitely too small. You boobs are not being contained at the side and front, which is why you're quadboobing (especially on the larger boob, but the rule of thumb is to fit the larger breast). The center gore doesn't look completely flat either. I think if you size up a cup, the band might feel a little better as well, and it will stretch a bit with wear.

helpfulJust a heads up for future purchases, this particular brand might not be for you. Really, for anyone. Ok, the only one's I think can pull this brand off and not be in serious pain would be those who are clearly overweight (a lot of back fluff softening the "blow"). I used to have a bra from this brand and even though the band was perfectly the right length for me, it hurt like a bitch. Why? Check this out, take your bra off... Look at the band. Place your fingers in the middle of the fabric and stretch it a little. Compare that stretchiness to when you place your fingers in the same manner and stretch only the edges of the band (especially the lower edge), the elastic. Much firmer, huh? There's too little elastic for comfort and therefore the edges are sewn too tightly, too much tension. I bet that you experience a lot of discomfort only on the edges of where the band has been, right? My advice is scrap that bra, if it's too late to return it, consider taking the elastic out and replacing it with a similar but LONGER one.
And oh, I agree that the cups are too small, my bet would be 1 cup size. A good thing to do would be to send Figleaves a message and tell them about your experience, complain about the poor design.

helpfulThe band may be too small for you, and the cups most definitely are. My comfortable ribcage is 32", but I actually wear a 34". Try a 32" band, and try a D-DD.

helpfulI have heard this brand and particular style are notorious for running small in both band and cup.

helpfulCup is too small for you, try going for a 30D, I had the same issue and yours look about the size of mine.
It also looks like you should try a 28E. The wires don;t look like they are flat on your chest. Also, you might have it on a bit low.Updated on June 5, 2014 Flag this

helpfulI have this bra too and have the same problems! My ribcage measures 28 inch so I ordered the 30D ( my usual size) but the band choked me and the cups flattened me. So I swapped it for a 32C. This fits fine in the band and the cups aren't quite so flattening, but it still gives me a flattened shape I think it's cut for a super shallow shape, and because I purchased it at the start of my sizing education I didn't realise that although I am a shallow shape, there does exist bras that are TOO shallow for me I wonder if these fit issues would have been resolved for us both by trying a cup size up. I suspect in my case that would also make the wires too wide. Btw I've found Just Peachy bands often seem to run unusually small so it's worth trying a 32 too.
