Issue resolved
Thanks for your help, everyone!
Original problem
I finally got a sheer bra! Yay! I like the fit. A bit pointy, and comes up high on the sides, but that happens with a lot of bras. Does it look like a good fit?

helpfulIt looks like the band is not suited well to your shape. It looks like the wire is getting distorted on the sides. You likely have a back shape that widens toward your shoulders. That explains why your underbust measurement and the band length seem compatible, but the wires are getting pulled back too far. That also explains why it is riding up in the back, since it is tighter at the top than at the bottom. I would try it on with and extender with the top hook on a looser column than the bottom and see if that helps bring the wire into a more vertical position.

If it's not on the loosest hooks, I'd try that first. I hope it helps, because it looks great on you.

The new side picture is with the top fastener on the loosest hook. Now the wires aren't all stretched out of whack. Thank you so much! I never would have thought of that.
-
That looks much better. It appears smoother in the back too. Did it help at all with the under arm irritation?
-
It helped a little. It's much more comfortable now. I will do this with all my bras from now on.

helpfulHow much empty fabric at the sides, and how much extra room in the cup vertically (reflected in "can't quite fill it" result re: bottom of the cup)? When combined with your comment that the wire is too tall (pokes you) and the fact we can see on the pics that the edge of the cup gapes more than usual and that the wire goes very far across your sides, all this to me suggests a too large cup that is artificially made to look more like a good fit due to the band being very snug as ayoungpretender points out. If you put on an extender, I fear you would see suddenly even more excess room in the cups.
It's very pretty and a lovely color on you, but don't let this blind you to possible fit issues that will affect your comfort in the bra. How does it feel on you?

There's not really empty fabric on the sides, it just goes over too far on the sides and irritates my arms. Other than that, it feels good. I don't quite fill out the bottom of the cups, but that almost always happens, no matter what size I try. I'll try an extender, but the band feels a bit loose even before I spin the bra around to put it on.

How does the poking change now that you put it on a looser hook? Does this address the issue?
Are you petite or short in the torso? This can sometimes cause problems with the height of bra cups and underwires. A wire/cup may sometimes seem too wide when in fact it's just too tall, and vice versa.
-
The poking? I'm not sure what you're talking about, but it feels better. I do have a short torso and narrow shoulders. A lot of bras are too tall for me.
-
I was referring to the fit issue you listed ("Underwire length: Runs too high under the arm, it pokes").

helpfulIt looks like there's too much volume in the cup, sizing down might help, but I'm inclined to think not, if you can easily exchange or acquire a 38FF that would be an interesting comparison I think. Is it comfortable in spite of its faults?

Do you think one from an older season would be better? This color is supposed to have deeper cups. I got this one from brastop, so shipping it back would cost a lot. There's just some empty fabric where the straps meet the cups now, and that doesn't bother me.
-
Since the problem is depth and not width, maybe using a thin removable pad in the bottom of each cup would address this?
Earlier season CK bras were shallower but also wider, if I understand correctly. I believe you said above the width is good for you on this one. You don't want to end up trading a too deep cup for a too wide one!
-
Not filling out the bottom of the cups happens so often that it doesn't bother me. Or would the pads be for something else?
Yeah, I don't get along with wide wires, so that wouldn't be good. I'm going to wash it and try to get it to soften up a bit. Maybe that will help with the irritation. -
Oh, sorry, I meant for the slight wrinkling up top due to the extra depth. Wrinkling per se never bothers me, many of my bras do it, but for people who enjoy a perfect looking fit, putting a thin little pad in the bottom of the bra will usually boost the breast up just enough that you'll fill out the top!
I feel you about the wide wires, I just can't do it at all. I would rather wear a wireless bra and that is saying something!
-
I don't mind the wrinkling on this one, but I'll use that idea for some other ones. If you don't like wide wires, stay away from the parfait Charlotte. So wide.

helpfulThe newest picture is after I washed it. It's not as irritating on the sides now, and I think it fits better.

The fit looks improved, as long as its comfortable I would wear it.

Good idea. I have it on the second set of hooks in the pictures. Should I try the top fastener on the loosest hook before I try an extender? I also bent the wires after I took the pictures, so they don't get stretched so far.
