Issue resolved
Thanks for all the help! I've ordered two balconette bras to try out.
Original problem
Hi,looking for suggestions on where to go from here. This bra is very uncomfortable. The cups cut in on top when I first put it on, but after movement are loose across the top of my chest. I constantly have to adjust the band, straps, and scoop my boobs back into the bra. I'm not sure you can tell from the pictures, but I can easily pull the band out 5+ inches. It makes me bulge out under my arm and generally doesn't stay in place or look good. I'm thinking maybe the style of cups has something to do with it? Unfortunately this is my nicest fitting bra. Any and all suggestions as to sizes/brands to check out are greatly appreciated as I didn't even know there was anything wrong with my bras until recently. Thanks!
EDIT: measurements are underbust- 33(snug), 31 (tight)
bust- 38 (standing), 40 (leaning), 37.5 (lying)
Calculator linked in the suggestions gives size estimate of 34f which seems impossible? but that could just be my preconceived notions about boob size because I've always thought I was very flat chested. Does that seem like a likely starting place for size?

helpfulAgree with other posters! Definitely try a 34E and F and a 32F in different brands. If you are in the US, at your local department store some of these will be marked with multiple Ds--in many brands DD = E and DDD = F, although some UK brands use the sequence D, DD, E, F, FF, G, GG etc. instead.
You want to find bras with a shallower cup shape to fit your anatomy--your breast tissue is quite evenly distributed over a taller and wider area, this is why your bust doesn't "stick out" a lot, but you still have a lot of breast tissue that is not being contained by the tiny cups on your Aerie bra for instance. Plunges and padded half cups (including many gorgeous longline bras!) are often shallow fitting. You will have to see if you like the upper part of the breast to be contained/supported by the bra (in which case you may want to look at plunges and other styles that come up quite high at the outer side of the cups) or on the contrary if you prefer to just get support from underneath (then you'll be mostly looking for half cups and shallow balconnets when you can find them).

helpfulI'm not surprised it's uncomfortable! This bra is not at all the right size for you.
I think you should try a 32F and a 34E or so to start, depending on the brand, and go from there.

helpfulIt looks like it would be uncomfortable. I think the cups are several sizes too small, but it's hard to tell exactly how much from the pictures. Have you tried the bra size calculator? http://www.brasizecalculator.tk/ It should give you a good starting size.
It looks like your breasts could be shallow. That makes it easy to underestimate the volume. http://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/wiki/shallow

helpfulA band riding up in the back is usually a sign of it being too loose for you. It can also be pulled up by shortening the straps too much in an attempt to hide the cups not fitting properly.
Have you measured yourself according to reddit's ABraThatFits (http://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/wiki/fit_guide)? Or used Sizemapp (http://www.sizemapp.com/en/) to get a starting point size?
From your tight/comfortable measurements, I'd estimate you as being around a 32-34 band. I'd recommend at least trying a 32 band, but the aim of the game is comfort so choose whichever of the two is the most comfortable.
I'm not so confident recommending a cup size, as I've no measurements to go on, but I'd suggest at least 1-2 cup sizes up from this, so 36B --> 36C/D, which would be a 34D/DD or 32DD/E (UK sizes).

helpfulYup, 34F is likely. Make sure to try shallow bras, otherwise it can be hard to believe. I'm shallow myself and would recommend Elle Macpherson Intimates Cloud Swing Underwire Bra (E76-835) in 36E (it runs tight) and Freya Patsy Padded Half Cup Bra (1223) in 32FF (it runs loose). ETA: You might need Patsy in 32G. Either way, this is is a starting point.

helpfulI would try 32F, search for styles for shallow and wide breasts. The size does not depend on projection (The size of tre breast is its volume) so you can be flat-chested and still have large breasts.

helpfulPlease read http://www.venusianglow.com/2012/09/small-breasts-with-broad-base.html
You are a classic example of this shape. Your breasts are ninja boobs, they don't stick out much and thus look smaller than they really are.
From eyeballing you I would strongly recommend trying around 36D / 34DD for a start and the 34F suggested to you is not totally out of the question.
See this picture of a women with a shallow shape needing a 34DD in comparision:
http://www.brabandproject.com/gallery/view/id/208/Your breasts are IMO slightly larger than that.

Trial and error my friend, you will get there. Have a look at other profiles with similar measurement and see how a good fit looks, then compare other issues such as shape.
