Issue resolved
Size up the band, bra with shorter gore
Original problem
Just got the Cleo Lucy in 32F, the band is really, ridiculously tight, had to put an extender on it but once I did, it felt pretty good. The gore is a bit too tall, but other than that, do there seem to be any other fit issues or have I found a bra that fits?

helpfulDo the wires still hurt you even with the extender, or was that before you put on the extender? If they still hurt even with an extender, no, this won't be comfortable. A 34E would probably be better for you in this bra, although other bras that run looser might work fine in 32.

You can take in the gore to see if that helps (baring in mind this with lower the wires on the side, open up the cups at the top, and make the band tighter). It's not a perfect shape match, but it looks like the right volume.

If the gore is hurting, in your shoes I would not persist with this bra. Sorry! I agree it looks lovely but you are in a very well-served size range and there is really no reason to suffer discomfort when so many pretty bras are available in your size. You can find a better fit, I PROMISE :-) If you love this model just try a 34E and see if it feels better!

Is it hard to take it in? I wouldn't mind trying that. Yeah, I know it's not a perfect fit, but it's certainly better than the 36D's I have in my drawer, haha.

wendybien, I'll try the 34E to see! It really is a lovely bra, and I'm already attached to it because it's fit so much better than anything I've ever had! It's just hard to let go so soon. :P

I was like that too when I first starting bras, but going from one bad fit to another slightly better fit doesn't do it for me these days. I agree with wendybien, it seems like 34 bands are the way to go for you, even if your measurements indicate otherwise. You might do better in a Freya Arabella in 32F (or the Ooh La La). It definitely seems like you're full on bottom, so I would look for more styles that suit that shape. Unfortunately, the Lucy is the first one that jumps to mind when I see your shape descriptors.

Yeah, I had high hopes for the Lucy (which were mostly filled), I'm going to try the 34E just to see, but I'll check out the ones you recommended, too. Every bra I try on seems closer and closer to being a perfect fit, so hopefully I'll get there soon!

I second the suggestion to try Freya Arabella or Ooh La La (try it in both the 32F and 34E, since I don't know how the band runs in Arabella compared to the Patsy, and I know you were finding the 32 band in the Patsy tight). They're great for FOB - but they can gape along the top a lot if you don't have any upper fullness. They're both about 2cm deeper in this size range than the Cleo Lucy, so I fear they might be too deep for you. In which case maybe try the Freya Morning Meadow/Ada/Let's Twist Again cut family: they're the same shape as Arabella, but not quite as deep. Oh, and the Freya Gem.
If you like the Lucy but think the gore is too wide, maybe try the Cleo Marcie -- definitely the 34E for that one, Marcie's band runs much tighter than Lucy's. Marcie has a higher but narrower gore, so the wires might end in a better spot for you.

I've got a 34E Lucy on the way and a Marcie (it's 32F though, I bought it through here before realizing the fit problems with the Lucy, but at least I'll be able to see if the shape fits me). After I the those I'll check out the Freyas!
Also, someone else made a suggestion elsewhere that my ribcage may be flared, and I should try hooking the band across two different hooks, which I did, and I makes the Lucy feel a lot better! It felt tight across the bottom of the band, but not the top, so now the underwire and the gore are bothering me a lot less.
Edit - they have a Freya gem on amazon for $30 in my size, but looking at it, it think the straps will be way too wide for me and give me problems like the Patsy and Flourish did. Which sucks because it looks like it might be a good fit otherwise!
The hurt a tiny bit with the extender, but not much (I'm also not used to wearing a bra that's anywhere near the correct band size so it's taking some getting used to.) It's the gore that bothers me more, it's either a bit too tall or too wide. I really like this bra other than that, I've never had a bra that fit so well before.
