Issue resolved
The cup is too big and not the right shape.
Original problem
This is my first soft cup bra ever. Are these wrinkles in the bottom normal? Is the style wrong or the size? The top of the cup on my larger breast looks perfect, but there is a tiny bit of gaping on my smaller side.

helpfulIt doesn't happen all the time, but it's not a dealbreaker necessarily. It looks OK visually despite the gapping, but looks aren't everything. How supportive does the bra feel? Does it move around on you or stay put? Do you feel lifted, supported and generally secure in it or not?
From your list of breast shape characteristics it sounds like you may have a somewhat conical shape ("narrow boobs, wide root"). If this is the case then EM and similar brands which are typically designed for projected, full shapes may be less than optimal, in the sense that they'll tend to always have a bit more depth/volume in the cup compared to what you would really need. Sizing down could result in excessively narrow wires and too-short height.

Conical just means less fullness, and a generally pointier shape.

Yes, conical means cone-shaped, wider, fuller base tapering to a much narrower and pointy end. Like if you look down at your boobs from above, they are more like this: ^^ instead of like this: nn
Many women start out somewhat conical and gradually get more fullness in the "ends" of their boobs as they gain more volume in their 20s, plus the effects of gravity, childbearing etc. This was definitely the case for me!

helpfulIt looks too big based on the wrinkling and placement of the straps (are they uncomfortable? I know EM does really wide spaces straps, but this looks excessive). Do you think you think you can size down in the cup?

They don't feel uncomfortable, but this is my best fitting bra so it's hard to gauge. I wish I could try a cup size smaller, but I will have to stalk bratabase for that

I wish exchanging for different sizes was easier with EM. Getting it right off the bat is certainly the easiest way to do business with them.

I think the gaping and wrinkling at the bottom are both due to the ridiculously wide-set straps. Since the straps aren't really supporting the weight of the breast, the cup is collapsing and tilting forward. Altering the straps would solve both problems if that's an option. I think a size down may be too small and the straps may not have the better positioning needed to correct the existing issues.

helpfulI think the cup is too small and the strap is too big on you.
As can be seen from the pictures, the lower half of the bra is too small that it can hardly support your breasts. A bigger one may put your bust point to a higher place.
Base on your horizontal perimeter, you may have narrow breasts. So smaller cup width with bigger cup depth may fit you better.

It feels really supportive! I wanted to try an EM but wasn't sure I could pull off the narrow wires. I love the projection! This model was listed as having wide wires for an EM so I thought I'd give it a try. The whole front of my chest is boobs, with some breast tissue starting just under my arms and there is less than 2 fingers width between my breasts. I think I'm FOB but I may be even. My breast tissue is most projected at my sternum. Is that what conical shape is?
