Bra fitting help » Too large or just too tall?
Comexim » Free Time Plunge Bra (270) » 60L 28:12
Issue resolved
I think 65J will be my best fit. Thank you to everyone who helped!
Original problem
I have been really excited to try Comexim, but have been unsure about my size. Their ordering process is more complex than most so I can't exactly get drunk and impulse buy and proceed with the trial and error process. This bra was a custom order with a higher gore, which I would not order for myself. I have super short boobs and feel like this bra is too tall all over. I'm afraid if I size down in the cup I will get orange-in-a-glass, because I have the slightest wrinkling at the base of the cup on my larger (right) breast. I thought the band felt slightly too tight and I might prefer a 30/65, but looking at the pictures, I can probably get away with the 28/60 and may get more wear out of it. Since Comexim does custom orders, should I order the same cup size with reduced fabric or should I just try a smaller cup size and if so, what size?

helpfulI would definitely go up in the since the clasps look like they're being strained. I'd also go down 2 cup sizes. So that would be 65HH Comexim sizing. Maybe 65J, but the slightly looser band might impact the cup fit. I'm leaning towards 65HH more.

I agree with Jillsas, It appears too tight in the band and too large in the cups. I found Comexim for me to run super tight in the band. I am normally comfortable in a 30/32 band but the 70 band in Comexim was uncomfortable for me.

As for reduced fabric, I'd just choose whichever you would prefer as a personal preference. I think a smaller cup size would be closer to your size. I suggested two sizes down because often when one is in a too tight band, the cup is also too big, but it's being pulled shallower than it should be. I would try a plunge because those are the highest quality bras that Comexim makes. They focus most of their creative and engineering power into those bras, as opposed to their balconettes. As far as I'm aware, most of their plunges are similar shape-wise.

I will probably order a few different sizes in the same style, to see what works best. I might order lower gores, because my best-fitting plunges are PL Stalówka in 70GG and PL Onyks in 65GG, both of which have 2" gores, where the Comexims in 65HH and 65J have a gore height of a little over 3". It's kind of hard to compare, but I think my boobs are super short, with my root measuring about 5". It is even less than my root width, which is decidedly narrow at 5.5". I've never met a bra that otherwise fit but was too short on me, so I think I have nothing to loose by requesting reduced fabric.

Update: Somebody was nice enough to let me borrow a few Comixem bras and I got to try the same size and style with the normal gore. It is much less problematic. Pictures here: http://imgur.com/a/9G68u . I will still go up a band size and probably down a cup size since I tend to prefer to er on the side of too small in the cup. The only issue now is the gore still floats a little and I feel like I'm losing a lot of support because of it. I think ordering a lower gore would help, because my breasts get closer together toward the top and I have a bridge of breast tissue between my breasts starting about 3 inches above the level of my inframammary fold. I got to try a 65J too and had the same issue with the gore.

That looks much better. I definitely think a band up and a volume down will probably be what's best for you.

helpfulI would maybe try one cupsize down and reduced material around the straps. This should help. Also try getting it with a lowered gore to have the same gore height as your EWAs. This is what I did and it fits beautifully.

My initial reaction was that it was too tight, I should not have second guessed myself just because it doesn't look terrible. That might be causing the shallowness at the bottom if it is straining the wires. Should I try one with reduced fabric, as I often hear people ordering, or just try the standard model in the different size?
