Bra fitting help » Cups gapping and wires digging in

Issue resolved
I'm going to try an extender incase the band is too tight.
Original problem
I think this bra fits pretty well overall, but there is some gapping where the cup and strap are sewn together and the underwires are digging in both under my breasts and on the sides. I'm guessing there's a problem with the shape but I'm not sure what shape I should look for instead.

helpfulThis looks like a decent fit and shape for you, so I my guess is that it's the materials that are bothering. To me, it looks like shallow and wide is what you should be looking for. I would look for brands that use really nice materials, like Only Her or Parfait By Affinitas (the last one's a matter of opinion, but Only Her definitely does use nice materials).

Perhaps. I guess it's hard to tell in that. Only Her, according to Venusian Glow at least, has deep cups. Here's a review: http://www.venusianglow.com/2013/10/review-only-her-latte-plunge-in-65dd.html I'd avoid Parfait. Their bras a very shallow.

Hi !
I think your problem with the wires digging might be due to the band being a bit too tight : I suppose this, because you measure 80cm, the streched band is 84cm, you don't look squishy around your ribs, so only 4cm for ease seems not enough in my point of view. Personnaly, I prefer to have 9 to 11cm ease in my band, (I am close to your size (32d) and look close to your body squishness). But it is personnal preference. You can try an extender and see if the wires are still poking or not, and if the band stay supportive enought for you.I don't think at all the Only her plunge bra has deep cups ! It is very shallow, more than the cleo Juna that is known to be shallow friendly... When Venusian Glow says "cups that are cut very deep", I think she means cups don't cover a lot of breasts, like a deep neckline.
But, Only Her half cup bras become more deep (average depth I suppose, not very deep) in higher cup sizes... I known 32d is very shallow, but 32e is deeper. But I don't know if the frontiere between medium depth and shallow depth is between 32d and 32dd, or between 32dd and 32e. -
That makes way more sense. Thank you Galactica.

Thanks Galactica! I'm so confused over how tight the band is supposed to fit. I used to wear a 36 band which I realise was too big, but I do feel like I bulge too much over 32 bands, especially at the sides, and I do feel that the red marks I get at the wings might be too deep. But at the same time a can stretch them about 2'' (5 cm) in the back and everywhere I read it says that you shouldn't be able to pull it any further back. I'll try an extender though if I can get my hands on one!

I also read this this advice about you shouldn't be able to pull the band more than 2" ! At the beginning of my bra journey, I belived in this rule (after all, my old bras were really too big ! ). But with a bit more experience, I don't think it is true for everyone. This rule seems to work better with heavy breasts, and/or squishy torsos (because the fat around the ribs act like padding between the ribs and the bra, and the fat is compressible).
You can read this if you want to read the german and polish approch to brafitting : http://www.kurvendiskussionen.at/node/172
To give you my own experience, I need 4" difference between the maximal stretch of my bra and my underbust measurment (taken "confortably tight", so not as tight as possible, but I can feel some tension when I measure).
I also find I can wear a band a bit looser when cups fit me well and are the good shape for me, but I need the band tighter when my breast shape and the cups don't match so well, that gives me deeper red marks when I take the bra off, wire digging, bra uncomfortable after only a few hours.
So this is my personal experience, I think you should experiment and see what works for you, what works for big busted and small backed bloggers isn't the best for everyone.

helpfulI have the same 2 problems with some of my bras. With the wires poking I just figured out that this might be a good time to try bending them a bit to make them stick into my sides a bit. I haven't finished with this, and if you try it you probably want to be careful not to snap the wires.

Thanks for the tips! I'll check out Only Her and Parfait. I'm actually pretty projected though, not shallow. I actually had an idea that the cups might be to shallow.
