Bra fitting help » Cup Distortion

Issue resolved
Added an extender to fix the cup issue, but the band is now too loose.
Original problem
I first tried on a34B (my new usual size) but the band seemed to be too loose, although the cups seemed alright. I dropped down to a 32C and the band fit much better, but I think the cups are getting distorted, not sure. I circled in the photo what I believe to be a sign the cups are distorted. I would love your opinion on this and the overall fit. thanks.

helpfulI don't think the cutting in at the top is due to the cups being distorted. IMO bras with this cut often do this on boobs that aren't perfectly FoB, so I'd say this simply isn't the right type of bra for you.
Are you sure your boobs have a narrow root?
Edit: Have a look at this list, if you like (Cleos unfortunately don't come in cupsizes smaller than D anymore, but most of the other brands might very well be worth looking at): http://www.bratabase.com/profile/65y/adventures/2346/
I think you definitely need bras that are cut open on top.Updated on January 10, 2014 Flag this

Oh, okay! For some reason it says "narrow root" under your measurements, so that confused me. I'm going to edit my post and put in some suggestions for bras that could work much better for you then - although some of them don't come in a C or B cup.
-
Libby thanks for pointing that out, I'll go change it now.

You're welcome!
Do the wires on this bra fit actually? To me it looks a bit as if not all of your breast tissue was inside the cups. You did scoop and swoop (http://bustyresources.wikia.com/wiki/Scoop_and_swoop) when you put on the bra, right? -
I believe the wires fit, I normally fit into a cup width between 5" and 5.5", anything more and it digs into my underarm when my arms hang naturally. Yes I did swoop. It might look like it on the pic but there is no breast tissue that isn't in the cups.
-
Alright, thanks. I still think the bras on the list I linked will work much better for you. What I see in your pictures is a common wide root shallow boobs problem with plunges.
-
Thanks, I think I've seen that list before and have checked some of them out. Most are out of my price range though. The quest continues.

Have you looked on ebay.co.uk? Some of the older models should be easy to find bargains, especially in your band size.
E.g. these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xfreya+half+34B&_nkw=freya+half+34B&_sacat=0&_from=R40

helpfulThis looks like slight quadboob rather than distortion. It's probably the shape of the cup. Is this comfortable?

yes, it's actually quite comfortable. I think the slight qb is a result of top of the cup loosing it's curvature by being stretched too much. I didn't notice this happening when I tried on the 34B. I think I will add an extender and see if I have the same problem.
-
So I tried it with an extender and the slight QB disappeared. I do believe the cups are getting stretched just a touch causing the top of the cup to become too closed. Unfortunately using an extender moves the straps to far to the sides, so this isn't a viable long term option.

Cleo is supposed to be coming out with sizes are smaller than D cup in their next season. I could totally see you in a 30 C Cleo Juna or a 32 C Cleo Juna. Their bands run big not really big just very stretchy. :)
-
I'm with Jasminepetra on this - I think once there are 32C Cleo Junas out that is going to be your best fit.
On a side note, I had that same bra (before I was properly fitted) and I found that the cups did the same thing. Of course, who knows why, since there were so many unidentified fit issues. It might just be a manufacturing thing though.
-
I think the cups look too narrow and pointy instead of rounded and smooth
Like Juna. it's almost like the cup is too small or narrow? or has a weird shape that doesn't look very comfortable. doesn't look bad I just know you can do better. Also Cleo Lucy has got a really nice shape Since Cleo brand is going to be coming out with sub D cups, I would also try the Lucy in a 32 C or 34B/C? Lucy is one of my favorite bras. it has a very flattering shape to it. I think it would work on you too. :) -
Jasminepetra, laurel_leaf Thanks for the suggestions, I will keep my eye's open for the sub D Cleo.
I don't usually shop VS, but I was with a friend who ONLY wears VS (she is one of those few with a perfect figure and can wear anything and make it look good) so we hit up the local VS during the clearance sale, I had a few extra $$ after the holidays and at $20 I figured I should at least try it. Now I know!

No, I have a wide root.
