Issue resolved
Received very good help from the lovely ladies here. I just needed to jiggle the band a little higher up on the back (it's a little tight, but not overly so) and the cups already fit so much better. This is currently my best fitting bra. Thank you!
Original problem
I'm at a loss with this bra. It acts almost like it would be too small to encase the breast tissue in the armpits, and at the same time looking from top down the cups seem to gape especially in the outer corners. Of course it's hard to assess the fit with the straps being so ridiculously wide (seriously, what's with the strap positioning with Delphi!), but I'm apprehensive about alter the bra if I'm going to end up selling the bra. So, any advice would be very much appreciated. Should I sell it or should I could it be altered to work? Everything else (band tightness, gore width, wire width etc.) works.
PS. My currently best fitting bra is Comexim Basic 60H, followed by Cleo Karen 28F (if it only was 1/2-1 cup bigger w/ 0.5" narrower cups). Cleo Meg in 28F and Melissa in 30E are reasonable fits, even though they cut in the top some and the wires are a little wide.

helpfulIf the straps are placed too wide for your body then your arms will be pushing the cups forward and down, often resulting in gapping and the illusion of cups being too large when they might actually be fine or even too small, volume-wise. However, here are is something that might be worth considering: I haven't tried the Delphi, but with the Masquerade Rhea I found I got a better shape and fit when I went up a band size and pulled the band a little bit higher up in the back (unless it simply is the angle of the photos you seem to have the band pulled a bit too low in the back). The band of the Rhea is not very curved, which is why it tends to sit a bit higher on a (slightly tapered) ribcage anyway. It also isn't very stretchy, so even though it technically wasn't too tight for me it still put too much tension on the cups. From your photos and measurements I am guessing the band of the Delphi might be similar. Pulling the band up -- you will probably need to use an extender -- will also improve the angle of the cups on your body, the way the straps sit, the position of the wires at the side, and the (relative) height of the wings. It will also result in more 'depth' in the cups which I'm not sure you need, but you won't know until you try

helpfulIt looks like the band is just too tight. I think you'd do better in a 30DD. Also, make sure the bra isn't sitting too low (shuffle it up as high as you can go without spillage from the bottom).

I'm not sure where you're going with this advice? If as you say the band is too tight going to a 30 DD will only make the band tighter. A well fitted bra isn't meant to sit high on the body, I'm guessing that the back looks like this in a couple of pictures due to the body being arched to get a shot of the sides.

That was an accident, I meant 32DD. Also, it depends on your shape, but a supportive bra will fit as high as you can on your torso without your breasts falling out of the bottom (because empty space in the bottom causes loss of support).

And trying it with an extender might even help the straps a little, at least to the point where you could see if it would be worth altering :)
