Issue resolved
I've moved on and returned this bra. I found two bras that fit and that I like: Cleo Marcie 38JJ and Ewa Michalak S Porcelanka 90JJ.
Original problem
I've been on a quest to find a bra that actually fits well! Still playing around with sizes/brands/styles. Need help. Out of the bras I've tried, I like this one the best. I have spillage at the top and the gore doesn't quite lay against my chest. I also can't quite fill the bottom, I guess this is what you call the orange in a glass effect. I can't seem to find this bra in a bigger cup, though. The curvy kate's I've tried on don't fit me right either...the straps are too far apart for me. Need suggestions for bras to try on. I've been ordering and exchanging from HerRoom. This bra is a 40J USA.

helpfulI'm thinking the cup style is wrong. Seamed cups (yeah, I know--I prefer seamless but my boobs don't) provide more lift and support. Gore not tacking and spillage mean it's not the right bra/size. Have you chatted with the HerRoom folks to get advice? I've never done that so I don't know how they would be. And I am not familiar with that bra.

I really need more help...the curvy kate balconette 40J also had the orange in a glass effect, and the curvy kate 40jj did too but only slightly, however, there was a lot of extra space/wrinkling in the tops of it. Curvy Kate's straps are too far apart for me to. Any suggestions on what size or brand/style to try? I'm desperate, the bra i'm wearing right now is hideous as the gore sticks out way too far and u can see it through my shirt. It's a 42h and the band is too big. (USA sizes)

After looking at my pictures again, the dreamcatcher's bottom does look just as bad as the Daily Boost. (Orange in glass)

helpfulIn short, I agree the cup style is probably wrong. I think the gore is a bit too wide and the wires are too deep and tall. You may be a bit high set?
I resolve this by choosing plunges with low wings. I admit, most of what I try is in lower cup sizes than what you wear, and I'm at a loss for suggestions. The Daily Boost was awful on me, too.
I am guessing some Panache bras will work better for you given what I see as your shape. Try the stretchy cups like Jasmine. Fantasie or Elomi may work, in plunge styles. Prima Donna makes stretchy cups and I find there's lots of room under the arm, though the gores are higher. FussyBusty has luck with Ewa Michalak.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will look into them all!

My best advice is to sort bras here on Bratabasr in your size range by wing height and gore height. Start with the lowest ones. Go from there. You really are close set, IMO, and that's going to cause tacking issues and possibly pain. The high set part means tall wires will bang into your armpits and stop you from settling into cups (even if they're deep).
The Panache Tango and Andorra are available in 40J. The Idina in 38J (I wear the Idina plunge) - unfortunately not the plunge versions. The Andorra and Idina stretch, I find that solves many issues.
Ewa Michalak may be a very good option for you. Several bloggers have reviews on ordering, sizing.
I'd also look on Bravissimo. They carry several 40 bands, as well as j/jj cups. I think their store brand wires *may* be a good fit.

Thanks again! I am still not sure what size fits me best either, but if I find the right style I'll figure it out quick I think. And I believe I'm broad rooted.
-
Crap! I just added a long comment and hit the wrong button!
Here goes again!
If you are wide base (top of boob) and wide root (bottom of boob) the Elomi plunges may work better. You will probably get a touch of cut-in at the center on them, because of close-set - but they won't be unwearable. Size down in band and up as much in cup as comfortable in them, it should help narrow the gore.
If you are wide base, narrower root the Panache styles will probably work better - especially the Idina. Even in the Idina plunge you may get a bit of cut in at the center. It's incredibly difficult to find a bra that works for wide base/narrow root/close set in larger cup sizes.
In the Elila you aren't filling the bottom, outer edges. That may be because the wires are too tall or because your root is narrower. I can't tell.

WideCurves , are you able to see my photos I've posted of the other two bras I've tried on? If so, can you take a look and see if you can determine anything from them?
-
I think you've got a narrower root than base, looking at the pics, and by the issues you've written - are high set.
My best advice is what I've already given - plunges with short wings. You aren't as narrow rooted as I am, which is good news. I'd try Elomi plunges, definitely. You are close set, and you are going to have to learn your personal tolerance level there on gore and width.
High, U'ey wires are not your friend. You need cups that stretch more crescent....with low wings.
Curvy Kate plunges may work... Basically, switch to plunges and see what happens.

Thank you so much for all your time and advice. I'm online browsing right now to place another order, and trying to decide if I'm full on top or full on bottom.
-
You are almost balanced, IMO. A touch fob? Time may change that...:).
The wide base shape gives you top fullness that stretches from sternum to underarm. It's nice to have upper fullness if you are fob...but it contributes to cut in from many cups and it's confusing, shape-wise. That's why stretch is handy.
What's more relevant is understanding that high set/wide base means a whole lotta boob gets squished into a short vertical area - which creates depth. So, the perfect bra (that's different for everyone) will lift and shape. You probably fall into many cups instead of being lifted by them.

helpful>This bra is a 40J USA.
This explains a lot and I am surprised that nobody caught that. A 40J US in Elila is equal to a 40GG UK.
A 40J UK is 3 cupsizes larger than this bra.
Yes, the shape is not ideal for you. Yes, it is too small. But from the quadboob you get, I think you need around a 40H UK in Elomi, Panache or Curvy Kate or 40K US in Elila or Goddess.
Curvy Kate and Ulla Dessous would IMO be a really good brand for you, bc they work well on top-heavy shapes like yours.

I just now saw this, so sorry I didn't see it before. I've tried a couple Curvy Kates and the straps are too far apart for me. I tried the Daily Boost Balconette in 38K (USA again), and the cups were too big.
-
Curvy Kate uses UK sizes, the 38K you had was a UK 38K or a US 38O.
Everytime you see double letters, the sizing is UK sizing. Everytime you see "i"-Cups and no double letters, the sizing is US.

Ladies have you tried INTIMACY?
myintimacy.com -
Intimacy carries mostly Primadonna, a brand that is way too small for her. It is kinda suspicious that your first post here is promoting that chain.

helpfulI have no idea if this will help, as I can't figure out the right bra for me either. When I put in my measurements, this site recommended J and JJ cups in Curvy Kate for me. And you and I are shaped differently, but... I can't wear an H cup in some American companies -- Natori bras never work, and I always have tons of spillover at the top of the cups. Most of the time, Mia Amoena H cups are also too small (Not sure if they're American?). But the Wacoal Awareness bra in the H cup is beautiful and extremely comfortable with the padded, relatively narrow set straps. It's also got stretchy cups and is cut very generously, so... While it's not good for lift or shape, it is the really only comfortable bra I have ever found with straps that work for me. It also accommodates all kinds of shapes. The straps don't adjust as low as I need, but it sounds like this isn't a problem for you if you're set high.
Le Mystere has some too, but they cut off at a less generous, more true to size H, I think. Chantelle seems more along the lines of Wacoal sizing from the one bra I've tried, maybe even a little bigger in the cup? I've also looked at a lot of their bras, and most of them look like the straps fall more toward the center of the shoulder. I don't really recommend Natori. Their H cup bras fit me more or less like Wacoal DDDs. I think maybe they run at least a cup size small and Wacoal at least a cup size large.
Le Mystere and Chantelle are French, but sold in US sizes in North America as far as I've seen. I didn't check where you're located.

lol I hear ya about the seamed/seamless. *sigh* . I have not chatted with the HerRoom people, I just have a hard time believing that I would actually be talking to someone who knows what they're talking about in regards to "ME". I've tried on like 20 bras or more from there. I just wish I had made note about what was wrong with each of them. I only started doing that like this week. It's so frustrating.
