Issue resolved
I no longer have this bra, and have moved on.
Original problem
(40HH USA)I just tried on two new bras this evening, but I figured I'd only ask for fitting help on one, but you can see my pictures in the other bra, the Panache 5675 (40J USA). I think the problems with both is the same basically, which is I can't fill the bottom of the cups. I don't detect any quad-boob on the top though, which is a good thing, and the gores don't stick out. I', pretty sure band size is right at 40, I definitely would not go up a size in the band. I also tried on an Elomi 8510 40JJ but the cups were way too big so I didn't bother adding it here. The Panache I tried, I thought I was getting the plunge as was suggested to me, but apparently I ordered the full one. Please help, I need suggestions as the bra I've currently been wearing is atrocious!

helpfulI am reminded of something that the Lovely Darlene from Hourglassy wrote about years ago: not every breast will fill every area of every cup, but it doesn't mean the bra doesn't fit/work. This bra looks quite good on you, actually.
Sometimes wrinkling in the bottom of a cup is caused by too little space there, but in your case it looks like you have too much.
So, question for you: have you tried grabbing the ends of the underwires, and pulling the bra upward so that your breast tissue settles into the bottom of the cup? What happens then? I ask because it looks like the wires are sitting a little too far below your fold, and also because it looks like otherwise, the bra is a good fit. If when you do this, the bra works its way back down within a few minutes, that's because the bra doesn't have enough room for you in that particular area. If it stays put and you get a better fit with maybe a little wrinkling, I would say your problem is solved.
FullerFigureFullerBust sometimes has some similar emptiness in the bottom of a cup, but the cups fit her otherwise, and it looks good, so she considers it a fit. If you find the bra comfortable and you think it looks good, then I would keep it. I'm coming from a perspective of being very very hard to fit, so I don't really worry about a tiny bit of wrinkling in the bottom of a cup, especially a new one, because as a bra breaks in that will usually go away. I do think this bra looks good on you.

The pointy shape and the too long wires come from the too large cup. If you go down in cupsize, it will become better.
That said, the Betty probably does not work well for you. The rim of this bra cuts in on almost everybody, causing plunge-related quadboob. On somebody with your top-heavy shape it would be a desaster.
If you are desperate for a plunge, it would be better to try Valentina or Jocelyn, there the rim of the cup is stretchy lace.

I agree that the cups are too large.
-
I suspected that might happen. Sounds like it IS too large.
In my experience, the Betty is pointy whether the cup is too large or not. I tried the Betty because I think it's so cute, but it's the wrong shape on me: I am FOT, it is for FOB, so my boobs just fell down into the cup, and looked pointy. And as t_maia said, I still had quad-boob.

helpfulIf I'm not mistaken, wrinkles in the bottom of your cup typically signify that either the cup is too large for you, or that the style isn't compatible with your breast shape. I've read that women with full on bottom breasts can have this issue if the bottom of the cup isn't deep enough to contain it. Do you think either of these sound like they may apply to your issue?
Here's an article that may also help

I don't know, I'm new to this "searching for the right fit" thing. I do feel like the cup must be too big if there is all that space at the bottom, but the top fits so good I'm afraid I'll have spillage in a smaller one. But the only way to know for sure is to just try more on. So I suppose the question now is, should I try smaller cup sizes in this same bra, or try different style or both?
I'm not sure what sizes to try next...40H, 40GG, 40G, 38G,38H,38J? I feel like I could order 10 bras at least and try them all on!
-
I would try a 40H or a 38HH. If those dont work then I would then say you are incompatibly with this cup! Its such a pretty bra too.
-
This one is the Betty, there is also the Madison and Jocelyn, both plunges on HerRoom. I wonder if they all fit pretty much the same? Or should I just stick with the Betty in different sizes?
-
I believe there is actually a function on this site for that very purpose. You can search up a bra in the handy-dandy search bar in the top right, and once you've chosen a size, choose "Compare Bra" on the left side of the page, and select another bra to compare it to.
-
Thanks, I must have overlooked the compare feature.

helpfulCould you please double check your measurements? A stretched band that measures 91.4cm will not exactly feel comfortable on a ribcage that measures 94cm TIGHTLY (not to mention the 100.3cm COMFORTABLY!) if it even closes at all.
Having said that, IF these measurements are correct then I think the emptiness in the bottom of the cups you are experiencing is most likely due to severely warped and tilted wires. Overstretching the wires and having them 'wrapping around' your ribcage like this will flatten out the bottoms of the cups to the point where that bottom fabric essentially starts acting as if it is part of the band. The only remedy is to go up in band size (and subsequently down in cup size) to ease the tension on the wires, reduce the tilting, and consequently free up the space in the bottom.

Yes, I can measure again, but I cannot go up a band size, it will be too loose. *edit: I just measured myself and it is 39". I was able to stretch the band to 42", but that's really stretching it which I guess I kind of held back the first time I stretched it since I'll be sending it back for an exchange.
-
I think she was meant measure yourself again. :)Tightly comfortable, and loosely.
-
Ok, comfortable=39", loose=40", tight=38"
-
have you tried 38 bands? Im comfortable 37 and use 36 bands. Im not sure how this would help in this situation. :) Just throwing something out!
-
I have tried some 38 bands but with cups that were too big. I will most definitely try 38s, I just need to find the right combo of band/cup and style. Easier said than done, right?lol

Thanks, isoperfectbra , those numbers make more sense :)
In that case one explanation may be that the wires in this bra are simply too wide for your body. They literally wrap around your ribcage, taking the bottom of the cups with them. Seeing how much space you have left I would suggest trying this bra a cup size down, although there is no guarantee that will work ... for what it's worth, a smaller cup will give you slightly narrower wires which may sit better on your ribcage.
Another explanation could be what rockthecurves suggests: you may be wearing the bra too low. Pulling it up so the wires sits in your breast crease and pulling the sides of the wires up and forward might help. If it does you will probably find you have too much cup volume on top. Again, a cup size down could work.
A third explanation I'm thinking of has to do with shape: it almost looks as if the bottom of the cups simply is too tall for your breasts. Your nipples seem to line up well with the apex of the cups and the top is a great fit, but there is too much 'height' from the wire to the apex, leaving you with those empty bottoms. There isn't much that can be done about that, other than ignoring it or altering the bra by folding under the excess fabric and (hand)stitching it in place (somebody recently posted a link to a blog explaining this kind of alteration, but I cannot find it now ... ).

helpfulI know Elomi Betty (I got Suzie the predecessor and have tried the Betty) and I think two things are going on: First, the bra is just wrong for your shape. You seem to be full-on-top while the Betty only works for those who are full on bottom. Second, the bra sits wrong on you, so it is hard to judge in which direction to go. I think it is too large - there is empty space at the bottom and the wires look too wide.
Could you please try to put on the bra again? This time take care to adjust the wires and the cup so that the wires sit directly in the inframammary fold.
Try pushing the wires up, hold the wire with one hand and use the other hand to first adjust your breast in the cup and then the cup around your breasts.
When you adjust the cup around your breast, push the thumb inside the cup so that you can grab the seam that comes up from the wire. Pull that seam straight. Pulling at the rim of the cup like you see some smaller breasted women do in "how to put on a bra" videos does not work in our size range, it will only damage the bra.
Based upon these pics of the Betty I would suggest you try a 40H in Elomi, but in another cut. I'm thinking Victoria or Abi. Tamarie would also be good to look at if you consistenly have problems filling the bottom cup.
If you can stand narrower wires, I would also recommend Panache Sculptresse.
EDIT: Could you please set fit on the bras you tried? I wanted to look up how the Daily Boost in 38H and the Panache Andorra in 40J fit you, but couldn't.
Also, which colour does the 40J Andorra have? There are pictures of three 40J Andorras, one white, one purple and one black. It is impossible to tell which pics are yours.

My Andora is the white one. The only bra in which the fit is not set is the Daily Boost in 38H, because I tried it on before discovering Bratabase, so I don't have pictures and I can't remember how everything fit.
"Could you please try to put on the bra again? This time take care to adjust the wires and the cup so that the wires sit directly in the inframammary fold. " yes, I did this and here is what happened: When I pulled it up under, I was able to fill it out, BUT I kept wanting to pull the back of the band down AND the wires felt too high under my armpits. There was also a little extra room in the top of the cups but not much. I also tried the band on the tightest hooks and it felt better. I also tried it on under several shirts and don't prefer the shape it gives me...it's kind of straight out and pointy. -
I also want to add that I plan on placing an order for 3-4 bras (depending on total price) hopefully this evening based on all the suggestions I receive here. So I still have about 12 hours or so to gather more advice before placing it.

Really try some Curvy Kates in 40H/38HH. (The CK Daily Boost fits almost nobody, it runs about two cupsizes smaller than other CK bras.) Try Princess or Emily.
Elomi Rita would be worth checking out, maybe also the Goddess Rose Banded 6080 or the Clara. Goddess is a bit shallower than Elomi which you seem to need.
Could you adjust the Andorra in 40J the way you adjusted the Betty? I think you could try the Andorra again in 40H. You'd get less wrinkling in the lower cup and the wires would be shorter. The stretchy lace would adjust to your upper fullness.
-
Curvy Kate's straps are too far apart for me. :(

Ok, after reading your suggestion, I went and spent a little more time with this bra. When I pulled it up under, I was able to fill it out, BUT I kept wanting to pull the back of the band down AND the wires felt too high under my armpits. There was also a little extra room in the top of the cups but not much. I also tried the band on the tightest hooks and it felt better. I also tried it on under several shirts and don't prefer the shape it gives me...it's kind of straight out and pointy.
sooo....even if I try different sizes of this bra, will it give me the same shape no matter? And based on this new discovery from pulling it up (filling bottom of cups but feeling like I need to pull the band down in the back, and feeling the wires a little under my armpit), what would you suggest? My first thought was try a cup size smaller, then I tightened the band and was thinking a band size smaller. THEN I really discovered I don't like the shape, so...I'm not sure what to do. I could try to find a bra that might give a rounder look in a 38HH? What's your thought on this? (I liked the shape of the Elila 40J that I requested fitting help on)
