Bra fitting help » slight fabric gape at top
Panache » Melody Fullcup (6055) » 32JJ 32:14
Issue resolved
The feedback I received was helpful. After trying another Panache bra in 32J and having it fit,I have concluded that this(32J) is my size.
Original problem
I am pleased with how this bra fits overall. It will a regular player in my wardrobe. Is the small about of gaping at the top a depth issue?

helpfulCheck for extra space on the outside or underneath. If the underwire perfectly cups the breast with no extra room, and the straps aren't too tight or digging in, (or conversely needing to be tightened to the max to give any uplift) you can have a good fit even with the slight gaping. Of course it usually takes a few days or weeks to establish if the fit is really as good as it seemed at first!

helpfulThe bra is one or two cupsizes too big. The only reason it is not obvious is because you shortened the straps.
I can tell this because the horizontal seam goes up too far and covers a lot more of the upper part of your breasts than it normally should. On you the horizontal seam is not horizontal, it makes a wave.
I own the Melody fullcup and in the correct size it gives a very pointy shape. On you it is round, again a sign of a too big cup with shortened straps.
Taking it a few cupsizes up is a way to make a bra fit that is not compatible with your shape. A lot of people do that with Curvy Kate bras. The big downside to this is that it puts a lot of pressure on the straps, causing the straps to cut in. The shoulder muscles then start to hurt and you get back pain, especially if you have a larger cupsize.
Feel free to wear the Melody in a 32JJ, but be prepared for some back pain.

helpfulI think it looks fine, despite the slight gaping. I mean, it is ever so slight it wouldn't be noticeable at all really. If you feel comfortable in this I'd say keep it as I do think it looks like a good fit to be honest. Though, I am new to this!
