Issue resolved
good suggestions!
Original problem
This bra is very comfortable, but the cups seem too far apart and don't give any lift. Also the straps are too wide-set. Any recommendations for a better brand/fit? I did a Freya 28D which fit well, besides a gap at the top of the cup and a panache 28F which digs painfully into my sternum and is toot tight...

helpfulIt sounds like the band is just too big for you. Riding up, lack of uplift... classic signs of a band that is too large. I'd stick with 28s or else do 30s in brands/models that run quite snug.

helpfulI actually wore this exact bra today! I have the same problem. The band is a 32, but is sort of loose. If I hook it to the tightest setting, it's still too loose and the front of the bra ends up sitting on my stomach when I sit down... I've been considering altering mine to be more like a real 32-30. Right now it's more like a 34-36. I'm just kinda afraid to start altering it, because I've had it less than a month and was sort of pressured into buying it from a bra fitter at Nordstroms.... any ways... do you know if this bra is even made in smaller band sizes??
Sorry I wasn't of much help, but just want to let ya know your not the only one.Updated on April 7, 2014 Flag this

In my opinion, Calvin Klein's bands are just not of very good quality. Their 30 bands feel loose on me, and I'm accustomed to 32s and tight 34s.

helpfulI have this bra in a 30D and it seems that is just how it fits.... it looks on me exactly the way it looks on you. (My review here: 30D - Calvin Klein » Seductive Comfort Customized Lift (F2892) ). I've had a few Calvin Klein bras and haven't been happy with any of them. On this particular bra, the band is much too stretchy to be supportive. In my review of this bra I did say I was happy with it, but after wearing it a few more times my opinion changed.
The t-shirt bra I've been happiest with lately is my 32D - Cleo » Neve Plunge T-shirt Bra (7196) . It has a very tight band, so watch out for that. My ribcage is 26.5" and I was uncomfortable in the 30 band. With your ribcage measurement of 27-28" you'd probably need a 32DD but that is a judgment call on your part.Updated on June 23, 2014 Flag this
Haha, I too was pressured to buy this by someone at Nordstroms's.I think the smallest band size it's made in is a 30. But, I have successfully altered bra bands in the past to get a better fit, so it's worht a try! It's just a bit time consuming...
