Bra fitting help » Top of bra cuts into armpits, too tight band.

Issue resolved
Sized up in the band, picked a brand that was more compatible with my shape. (Freya Deco 32F)
Original problem
I want to love this bra. It's the first "properly fitted" bra that I've purchased. However, the two main issues I have with it are the tops of the bra (connected to the straps) are cutting into my armpits, and the band seems way too tight, despite being able to pull it out 2-3" from my body.
After 10 minutes of wear, it leaves deep, red marks. Standing or sitting in any position that has my shoulders forward forces the top part into my skin, which is painful and irritating.
Another small issue is that I don't fully fill the bottoms of the cups (see picture of the wrinkling on bottom cups), but that doesn't bother me nearly as much as the other two issues.Any help is appreciated! As I can only order bras online, it's very disappointing to purchase one that is super uncomfortable.

helpfulMy money says the cups are too large and the band is far too tight (yes, some women with your measurements feel good in a 30, but you look very lean around the torso and this often means you need to size up; muscle and bone don't like being compressed).
Bands will "creep" downwards like that when they are too tight for you. The fact that the cups can be sitting 1 inch too low and the underwires end 1-2 inches outside the edge of your breast tissue, yet you still have no quadboob to speak of, means you simply need a smaller cup.
I'd try a 32F or FF.

30G = 32FF
So if you want to try going down a cup, you'd get a 32F. There's about a half an inch difference between cup sizes usually for me...but in this particular bra, according to Bratabase, there's an entire inch extra of depth, which would be a big difference if true.

Don't be afraid to wear different band sizes if they are comfortable. It's a lot better than the sizes we are told that we are and maybe what you used to wear before you discovered bratabase or something else on the internet that told the correct way to measure for a bra that fits. :)

helpfulThe straps are cutting into the armpits because they are too wide-set for you. I'm thinking it's a shape incompatibility for as to why the breasts don't fill the bottom of the cups. The cups come up too high under your armpits probably too, which would cause pain. Usually an issue with high set breasts.
I don't know what the stretched band is, but perhaps it's just not stretching enough for comfort at the maximum for you. I would try a different bra model (unfortunately I can't suggest any at the moment due to lack of time and inexperience with this size) and possibly a size up in the band if you are still feeling discomfort. My tight ribcage is 28.7 in and my comfortable is 31.3 in but I usually feel more comfortable with 32 bands depending on how tight it is.
If you haven't done any research about breast shapes, I would recommend it. I have gathered some of my favorite links on it here: http://xelestialcurves.tumblr.com/bustresources

Thanks for your input. My tight ribcage and comfortable measurements are pretty similar to yours, so I'll try going up a band size. Thanks!

Glad I could help! As WendyBien noted below, if you don't have much fat around your ribcage (I don't either), it can be really uncomfortable in your tightest band.

Going up in band size might also help with the strap and armhole issues, as well as with the empty cup bottoms. If you have an extender you can try and see if it makes any difference: when you put the bra on, make sure the wires are as close to your breast root as possible. Tugging the sides of the wires forward and up whilst bending over will help. As all of this definitely frees up space in the cups, you'll probably going to find these cups too roomy. If the fit otherwise still seems promising I therefore second wendybien 's suggestion to also try a 32F if you can :)

helpfulI would use a band extender because you like bra and because it will help with the straps in your armpits. And if you size down in the cups, which I wouldn't, then the cups will even smaller on the bottom than they are now.

Thanks for your help :)
I do agree that the band is just way too tight, so I'll definitely try to go up a size. I was wondering though, wouldn't a 32F be the same cup volume as the 30G? And is there a huge difference between an F cup and an FF?
Thanks again!
