Issue resolved
Just a query on fit, didn't need to change anything
Original problem
Recently lost several boob inches on diet, from 36G UK to 34FF UK. I get slight quadage on my bigger boob as I'm quite asymmetric. Is this an ok fit? Thank you

helpfulSquee!!!! I have/love Hello Dolly (in 34FF) too. I think when you measured the width of the wires you measured from their midpoints rather than the insides, so I would call this more of a 6" than a 6.5" wide cup.
From the front it looks really good to me. I can see what you're seeing with the larger breast threatening to quadboob, but to me it looks like you made a good compromise between the girls. You didn't post a photo of sideboob underwireage, so it isn't possible to tell if you need narrower wires. In my experience, when straps are too wide, the wires tend to be too broad for me, but I have a narrow root, so you might not have the same situation as me. There are little plastic strap clip pieces you can use to create a faux racerback if the rest of the bra feels great to you.
By the way, I'm infering some breast dismorphic disorder coming from you based on your labeling them as "low on chest", "rather empty", and "seriously saggy" that seem like they aren't really statistically accurate descriptors. Of course they're going to be less firm than you're used to after a weight loss. That's ok!

helpfulThere's nothing wrong with the fit aesthetically (I cannot see any quadboobing, myself, but that could be down to my aging eyes...) How does it feel though? The fact that the straps are too far apart for you sometimes means you've ended up with wider cups than would be ideal, usually in order to get the depth you really need. Some people can do this with no discomfort, others find it is not wearable after a few hours. What does your body say about the fit?!

helpfulThank you all, you're amazing!
Yup my measuring is prob wrong, will redo. I'll also try and get an arms down pic.
I really do have boob issues, without a bra they look pretty sad. But they've successfully fed my little boy for 2 years and made him strong and active, plus they're healthy, so can't complain too much it's only dh that sees them bare anyhow and he loves them as is.Updated on May 13, 2014 Flag this

helpfulThe band looks great, but there appears to be a slight gap along the top of the cup near the center gore. Perhaps the cupsize is too large or your chest is to wide-set for this bra? Hard to tell from the photos, it depends on your comfort as well. Also, it looks like it doesn't give the greatest lift, but the shape is good. So perhaps a bra with slightly more narrow wires and a cup size down? 6.5in is a really wide cup. My Panache Jasmine in 34FF has 6in wires and that's at least 0.25in too wide for me. I'd suggest an Ewa Michalak bra in 34FF (there padded sizes, in my experience, run a cup smaller than UK bras) or browsing styles that interest you on bratabase and looking at the cup width measurements. Best of luck!

I think she was saying that you could benefit from a cup that gives the same amount of, or more space where you need it (depth out front) as opposed to where you don't need it (on your sides, under your arms). A narrower cup design can do this with the same or lesser depth measurement. The depth measurement doesn't tell the whole story, I have tried on bras that were a full 12.5in deep and gave me quad boob (because that inner cup perimeter was stretched wide and shallow by wires that were much wider than my breast) and conversely I have bras that are 10.5in deep and fit perfectly, because the narrow wires fit my breast shape and the cup offers space in a location where my breast tissue can actually go, i.e. in front of me.
Anyway, all this is only important if you are looking for alternatives, or for future reference. If this bra is still comfy on you after a day or two I would think it was working well. I'm not confident saying it doesn't lift based on these pics because of how your arms are positioned--when I have my arms up like that for photos it always makes me look much saggier because it pulls the sides of the bra up and in. If you could get a pic of you with arms down we might see actually quite decent uplift.

helpfulI suspect the cup is one or two cupsizes too large. The general shape of the cup in the profile pic suggests this, same the frontal view. The seams in the frontal view have a tell-tale shape to them. It looks like you significantly shortened the straps to get some lift, which is an old trick to make a too big bra look ok. What happens when you loosen up the straps?

I would instantly quad boob in a smaller cup. Without shoulders that tight my boobs would sit really low

The cup fabric of this bra is completely unstretchy. I know you can't guess that by photos because the side elastic fabric is such a miraculously precise match, but those cups (and that trim) don't give a bit. If they were too big, especially two sizes, there'd be tons of wrinkling. Her photos show just an itsy bit at the tip which is probably because her breast gets elongated vetically when she lifts her arms.

It feels really comfortable tbh. In terms of lift,my boobs are seriously saggy, so I never get great lift in anything. My measurements of the bra might not be perfect as it's the first one I've measured. Any smaller in the cup and I would def have horrendous quadboob :) the gap could be down to my asymmetry, it def fits better on big boob. Thanks girls
