Bra fitting help » A little bit of quad boob
Curvy Kate » Daily Boost Balcony Bra (CK1801) » 32J 32:13
Issue resolved
Overall a good fit, the quad boob does show under clothes but not too bad if I wear a semi loose shirt instead of a tight tee.
Original problem
So this is one of my bras I bought from brastop in a 32J. Curvy Kate has never been my friend but I really wanted to try a molded cup. This bra, when sitting flat against my sternum, appears to make me bubble over a bit. It's comfortable (although the band feels slightly too big) and I like the look of it. It does appear to also flatten me a bit but other than that how does it appear to fit?
I'm worried that if I go up a cup the cup won't work at all for me and it'll be too big. I can let the center gore not lay flat and no more quad boob but I'd prefer the separation (especially with it being summer).

helpfulIf it can't be seen under clothes I wouldn't even worry about it. If it does, there is a solution... Try bending the wires in, you know, the way you would if you needed more depth and narrowness. I think this will help the cups conform to your shape more. Obviously it's not something you want to do to address serious overflow but this is just a hair off, so it should be workable.
I agree it's not 100% flawless but this is a HECK of a lot better than what they were trying to put on you at that store, so it's worth trying to work with it a bit!

helpfulHmm, it looks pretty good to me, but I see the quad you are talking about does it bother you with shirts on too?

Yes, it does show through shirts.

helpfulI'm going to tell you what my fitter told me: molded cups are notorious for the gore not lying flat. I have a 34G - Parfait By Affinitas » Lola Balconet Bra (6401), and the gore refuses to come closer than about half an inch to my chest. That's normal for a molded cup bra. Even some non-molded cups will do this - it's just how they're made. I can sort of see the quad boob you're talking about also - is there any possible way you could try a larger cup size? I mean go try one on, so you're not stuck trying to return it if it doesn't work out.

Unfortunately I can't try one on. The ladies at my specialty shop refuse to listen to what I want so they'd put me in a 30K and declare that it fits even if I can't breathe. They also hate this bra (I was told when I had a fitter that did listen to me) so they don't put people in it unless they're a smaller size.

There is a very good reason fitters are not too fond this bra. It is simply a bad fit on the majority of women who try it.
To be honest, you are one of the few women that I have seen where the Daily Boost is really decent fit, giving a shape that is almost rounded.
The cup of the Daily Boost has a very specific shape, if you don't fit that shape the bra will do all sorts of funny things. Due to its specific shape it also tends to run small in the cup compared to other Curvy Kate bras - which explains why the fitters at the store tend to put women into it who are usually a smaller cupsize.
While the Daily Boost looks really good on you, it is not without problems as you noticed. The specific shape causes this quadboob, the gore not tacking and a flattened upper part of your breasts. All these are fairly typical for the Daily Boost, especially the flattened upper part of the breasts. I've seen some very extreme cases of this, it often results in a very pointy and unflattering shape.
But surprisingly it works on you.

wendybien They need to remember that I can take my business elsewhere along with anyone else I choose to tell (They have a busty following and I know quite a bit of them and refer people to them). But all is good. I've worn this one for a few hours and I can honestly say, it's probably the best bra ever-no back pain today at all but it does give me this weird shape-not weird so much as full on top shape, lol, I'll have to determine whether or not I can deal with it.

I'm so pleased for you that you found a good fit. This shape does not look unnatural to me at all. I think you just need some time to get used to the way you look in a bra that really lifts the bust (and therefore shows more projection). After almost 2 years in nursing bras I had sort of forgotten how much the girls stick out when truly supported by a traditional seamed bra, so there was definitely an adjustment period ;-)

I didn't think about bending the wires! I did that for one bra because the underwire was seriously uncomfortable under my arms but never thought to do it for this bra. Thanks!
