Issue resolved
Wrong shape, will look for something with more lower projection and more open cups for a wider upper root
Original problem
I decided to try the Cleo Lucy after the Cleo Marcie in a 32e, which fits well with only minor lace gaping after settling in. I believe I have more fullness on bottom so I was hoping the Lucy would provide me with the lifted shape I want. However, I feel the band is looser than the Marcie, and when I swoop and scoop my nipples rest on the upper lace section. There is also minor wrinkling from my center projection pushing on the fabric (not pictured, happens after settling in to bra). The lace part also cuts into my root ever so slightly that I'm the only one who would notice. I would like to know if this is a size issue/not an issue and this is how it's supposed to fit, or if there are any other bras I could try to give that lift I'd prefer.

helpfulI'm still new-ish to this, so take what you will from my suggestions...
It looks like the bra is not currently sitting in your IM fold. Are you making sure to pull it all the way into the fold? If you are and it is sliding down, it could be that the Lucy, while a FoB bra, does not have enough immediate lower projection for you.

That could definitely be the case. I'm not that great at recommending because I still haven't tried many myself. Hopefully somebody else will have some good suggestions for what to try next!

helpfulI feel like this style is not optimal for you, somehow. The cups look too narrow and like they're failing to really competently "grab" and lift the full width of the breast here--it's more like they're clamped onto your boobs without doing anything.
One breast/root shape that can be tricky to identify is what you might call the V shape. I've seen it referred to also as "narrow tapering up to wide" meaning that the base (lower part) of your breast root is indeed a narrow curve, but the root widens a lot higher up--so basically the lower halves of your boobs are narrowish and have a good bit of projection, while the upper part of your breast tissue looks more like it belongs to someone with wide, shallow boobs.
If you are this shape then bras that are meant for narrow and projected boobs will not fit well as they often cut into the top of the breast, and despite not giving much lift or cleavage they always look like they end too low on you (because the upper part of your breast tissue reaches pretty far up vertically on your ribcage). Instead, I would look for vertically-seamed cups, open-on-top cups with a wire that is shaped like your own breast root--cups that are meant to provide a serious upward boost and therefore have the openness you need at the top of the cup. Materials wise, lightly padded or contoured is fine but avoid heavy duty padding because it takes up too much room and won't provide the space you need for the relatively full lower half of your breasts.

I think this is a good idea to look into. I don't have much if at all tissue into my armpits, but I do have a taller root that extends wider into the middle area. Thanks for the suggestions!

Oooh, this is a really good point! I have this type of shape (narrower at bottom than top). Unlike you, I lucked out in that the Lucy fit me spectacularly... But one I can recommend for you to try is the Juna (and clones). It has vertical seams, light contour padding, and a somewhat forgiving upper cup.
If you do decide to try the Juna style, keep in mind that a lot of people find the band feels a little loose and the cups can be a bit small, so you'll most likely need a 30FF.
My review of the Darcy (a Juna clone) is here: 28DD - Cleo » Darcy Padded Balconette (6821) -
Thanks! I'll look into that style

helpfulIt does look like A) there is not enough space for you in the bottom of the cups, and B) the cups are not quite wide enough. Did you by any chance try a 32F? Also, it would be easier to diagnose if you did the "swoop and scoop" and added pictures of that (especially a side view), since that is how you should be wearing a bra anyway and it's much easier to tell what the fit issues are when you are correctly settled into the bra.

Yeah, when I swoop and scoop I place the underwire there so I think your suggestion is on to something. Maybe a combination of not enough lower projection and a too loose band?
