Bra fitting help » too small cups?
Elomi » Bijou Banded Moulded Bra (8720) » 34GG 34:10
Issue resolved
well,we agreed the band is too big and the cups are too small. I will try more bras . . . soonish
Original problem
Its the first 'real' bra I've bought in decades. I'm sure cup is too small on the left, but also wondering if I should tighten the band? I think that made the cup even smaller, but Elomi doesnt go smaller.

helpfulYes the cups are too small for you. The gore also looks way too wide and it's possible the cups are too wide for you, not sure from these pictures. You should upload photos from all the angles recommended under the fit request suggestions, btw, that will help people give you meaningful feedback!
A 34 could definitely be too big for you. Is it riding up in the back at all? You might be sized out of Elomi unfortunately.

helpfulHi, yes I would definitely say cups too small. The central gore looks like it is sitting on breast tissue and not flat. It also looks as if this isn't giving you much support this could be because the band is riding up at back?

helpfulThanks - I've added a few more pictures, some on the middle set of hooks and some on the tightest. My belly is a problem, too, though - when I sit, it pushes against the wires. sigh. Growing old is no fun.
I also feel like my breasts are just way too low on my small torso - like they almost come to the bottom of my ribs - but there's no cure for that, is there?

So I need to try something in a 32 H or J . . . yeah, thats what I was looking at on amazon. I went to the other 'extended sizes' shop in town, and the fitters were busy, but the salesgirl said she's a 32 and just has to buy things on line and return if they dont fit.
The suggestion feature here was pretty empty for me.

Hi yes I would try that. I am new here and not sure if I can mention stores ? I am in UK and there a couple of stores that do mail order for smaller back/bigger cup sizes .It is always best if you can get to a store and try them but I know how hard that is myself.

I'm in the US, but Amazon actually has a pretty wide selection, i think.

OK the band is MUCH too loose, that is why your boobs are "hanging low" and pushing the underwire into your poor tummy when you sit. It's not your tummy's fault! The wires are also too wide for you I think.
Molded styles with wide gores can make a cup look too small when an unpadded style with similar size cups and a narrower gore can work, FWIW.

Thanks - I'm new to all this and still trying to get a feel for it. So, maybe a 3-part type with no padding, I could fit a 32H instead of J? or something? What shows that the wires are too wide? I was pleased that these wires didnt go so far around my rib cage as some did. and part of me looks at that back fat bulging and dreads what a smaller band would look like :-0

It's bulging because it's riding up to a fleshier part of your back! A well-fitted band sits at the leanest part of your torso. Pinch the side of your ribcage or your back at the level where the underboob crease is, and then compare with the 2-3x thicker layer of flesh up by your armpit/shoulder blade.

haha not sure I believe you . . . my fleshy back and my belly are very near each other. But I'll try going down a band and up 2 cups
-
hi, i can vouch for that, I have recently found out I should be wearing a 34 band instead of 36 and this makes a noticeable difference to "back fat", know it sounds strange.
-
thanks. good to know. I still worry that my height (or lack of) is also a factor, but I'll try some soon
Hi again, looking at side pics this is def too big in band size, i would expect from your ribcage measurement you would be a 32 which would mean you would need to go up a cup size. I think that this would solve the problem of wires digging in your tummy when you sit down as a tighter band would pull your breasts up.
