Issue resolved
I will need to take in the and and widen the center gore for this to work.
Original problem
I'm not entirely sure what's going on here, but I really want to figure out my fit in Kris Line because this is the nicest and most comfortable bra I own. This is a little long -- I apologize.
On one hand, I get quad boob when I scoop and swoop, making me think the cups are too small. On the other hand, the lace sticks up a bit at the top on both sides, which would mean the cups were large. Which is it?
The center gore is clearly not wide enough. The band is too loose -- this bra is brand new. I have to use the fourth column of hook and eye closures to get any support from the band. I've been thinking maybe I should go down two band sizes in Kris Line? Or should I just go down one?
Also, my nipples hit the sheer lace part, not the padded panels of the cup. What's going on with that?
So, what should I try next in this brand? What cup size do I need? An H? HH? And can you recommend any particular models?
Also, is this the wrong shape for me? I think it looks okay under clothes. I get lift and forward projection, and the monoboob tent-like issue goes away. Without clothes, the shape seems weird. Too pointy?
As for width, this cup is not that wide, not as wide as what I thought I needed. The cup fitting issue seems more about depth than width, right? So maybe I don't need wide cups as much as I need side underwire that doesn't come up too high? And enough depth. In this size, the underwire does not rest against breast tissue on the sides.
Finally, regarding my breast shape: In looking at the pictures of my badly fitting bras, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm fuller on top than I realized? Or maybe that's all center fullness. In any case, I'm realizing I'm getting quad boob from several of these bras.

helpfulSo, I started checking the measurements in some 32HH cuts similar to this one. In most that I found, the depth is about the same as the depth of this cup. I wonder if I need to go up to an I or J or higher in a 32 band?

helpfulI think the loose band is making the cups lose a lot of support, so it's too early to tell about cup size. When I wear a massively stretched out band I can get quadboob in almost any size just because the cups are not sitting stably on my body and the wiggliness causes them to creep down and so on.
Can you return this? If not, why no experiment with altering the band--you will get a much clearer picture of the cup fit then. You may even be able to find a good alterations person who can alter the gore for you. With those two issues taken care of, I wouldn't be surprised if it provided a decent fit.

Nah, I can't return it, but I can probably find someone to alter it. I guess I'm just never going to find bras that fit me off the rack.

helpfulhi, I would say this is def too small in cup. central gore should be flat as you said. i have fuller on the bottom boobs and whilst a bra can be too small at bottom of cup and not flat against sternum, and give overspill , this can still gap at top of cups where they aren't quite filled.. it may be that this style is not suitable
Having had another look at photos, I can't see that you are not filling top of cups form the pics, is it just the lace that is sticking up? It just wont support you if it is too big in band. i do know feeling have a few bras that I love but are now too big on band due to weight loss.Updated on July 19, 2014 Flag this

Thanks. Would you say it's more than 1 cup size too small? I'm not completely sure. I think I probably should go up by 2 cup sizes, especially if I get a 32 band.
And to answer your question, I do think I'm filling out the tops of the cups. That's why I was confused about the lace sticking up. So that could be a band size issue?

hi, it is hard to say, i would try both x

Hm... Good to know the lace sticking up could be about the band being too big. I had no idea -- and to me, it looks like I fill out the top of the cups too. The band is the loosest 36 I've ever tried. I will need at least a 34 and maybe a 32.

So when I put in 1.3 for cup distance and 14 for depth with my stretched band measurement, I was recommended the usual Elomi and Freya bras that I've been coming up with. But then also, there were about 10 different Ewa Michalak models recommended in 75KK. Do their cups run a bit like Kris Line's? Maybe I need a JJ or K in Kris Line. Or maybe I need to switch to Ewa Michalak.
