Bra fitting help » 28DD Freya Deco wires jabbing ribs on sides
Freya » Deco Moulded Plunge Bra (4234) » 28DD 28:5
Issue resolved
Too narrow wires
Original problem
Pros:
CLEAVAGE!! This makes my mama self so happy haha Great shape, uplift, and support.
I fill out the cup perfectly. I get a little overflow initially from swooping and scooping (which I may be a little too aggressive with since I have bits of loose skin from pregnancy/weight loss,) but as soon as I move, I settle in beautifully, with minor gapping when sitting/slouching.
The cup height and sides are a great height and width; I can wear tanks without them showing!
The straps are the perfect width apart and are super comfy; they don't interfere with my shoulder blade movement, which can be a problem with some bras.Cons:
The underwires jab the sides of my ribs horribly! The band itself is definitely snug, but that's what I'm expecting going down from a VS 32. The wires seem to sit and fit my inframammary fold. I've tried it on several times now trying to get a better feel of if I just need to break it in, as well as seeing where the lines are when I take the bra off. Once it was sitting on tissue slightly on the outside of one breast, but was fine on the other. Another time the wires underneath my breast were sitting low. But every other time, 5 times or so, they seemed to be perfectly in my fold all way around.
I have a bit of armpit chub on both sides, though one side is barely noticeable.
I'm curious, since with larger bands, the cups/wires are scaled to fit a wider frame, if going up to a 30 band would fix this. Going up a cup size might fix the wire jabbing, but I think they'd just be too large, no? I also wonder if maybe I have a rib flare? I do have scoliosis so it wouldn't be out of question, as even my hips are crooked because of it. I really want to try to find a way to make this bra work, as I love everything else about it. Any tips, tricks, advice are gratefully welcome!

helpfulHi there! Personally I find the Deco isn't that great of a bra for the smaller sizes, but it seems to look pretty good on you. The wires on this bra are very narrow and rigid, which would definitely explain the jabbing as well as that time it sat too low (perhaps it was that time of the month and so the slightly larger breasts didn't want to sit at the shallow bottom). I recommend you try to bend your underwires to the curve of your ribcage like this: http://brasihate.blogspot.com/2012/01/what-to-do-with-those-pesky-wide.html. Also if its like the ends of the underwire poking you, bend that part away from your ribs.
I don't think a cup size larger would suit you very well, but the wires may feel much better from what I see here. I think you can try this one with an extender if the band feels too tight, but I don't recommend a 30 as it will stretch a lot once you wear it more.

If you don't mind a bit of pushup, I know that Marks and Spencer bras give amazing cleavage like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/M-S-Push-Up-Plunge-Bras-Enhanced-Cleavage-Purple-Mix-New-With-Tags-2-Pack-/201151284560?pt=US_CSA_WC_Intimates&var=&hash=item2ed58d0550
Wacoal and btempted by Wacoal also makes moulded bras that are very plungy and for cleavage in tight 30 bands.
Personally I really like Ewa Michalak's 3D bras.. they give great cleavage and the seams don't show through most clothes.

helpfulYes, with your measurements a 30 band will be more appropriate and comfortable. Try a Deco in 30D.

Thanks for responding! It actually is that time of the month, not the best timing for trying on bras, but it's when it was delivered. However, the side that was the most painful, was actually my smaller breast. Maybe the larger side was pulling the smaller side towards it? I knew that the Deco would be narrow, but I have narrow roots and the Cleo Lily fits me perfectly in 30DD, so I thought it wouldn't be a problem. I'd heard the Deco runs both big in band and cup, hence trying the 28DD.
I've already put in an exchange request for the 28E, which will most likely be too large, but I'm holding out hope. It was definitely the ends poking me, the rest felt fine, so if the 28E doesn't work, maybe I'll try to find a cheap 28DD on here to play with the wires a bit. Thanks for the tips!! The cleavage was too good to not have it work haha
In the event the Deco just doesn't work for me, do you have any suggestions for another moulded or smooth cup bra that'll give the girls some cleavage? Thanks!
