Bra fitting help » Wires too wide? Cups not deep enough?
Panache » Jasmine Balconnet Bra (6951) » 36FF 36:8
Issue resolved
Despite the fit issues I was able to wear this bra for a few hours with minimal discomfort, hope fully will improve with wearing. I've only just started trying underwired bras in my size and so far the Jasmine is the best fit.
Original problem
I'm trying the Panache Jasmine in 36FF and it the fit doesn't seem to be great.
This bra doesn't seem to provide a lot of support for me - the material is thin.
The band is firm and tight on the outermost hook, not too small.
What's mostly bugging me is that it seems the wires are too wide for my breast shape, even with the FF cup there seems to be empty space at the sides of cup under my arms, while there is almost not enough material in the front top of the cup. Also, it seems like there is a little bit of empty space in the bottom of the cups, although I have pulled up the bra to try and push the breast to fill the space.
It also feels like the shoulder straps are carrying a lot of the weight.
Is this bra not right for my breast shape? I have tried the same bra in a cup size up, 36G, and the wires are even further back on that one but all the other issues remain the same.
Do I need a style of bra with narrower wires and more front projection?

helpfulIt sounds like you do, yes. I have no bra suggestions, sorry. Your best bet would be Polish bras though. I'm in your situation as well. It sucks being limited to one territory. I like a lot of the British and American brands esthetics-wise. Until I tried a Polish bra (Comexim Basic), I had empty space on the sides and too little coverage at the front no matter what size I tried on.

helpfulIf the gore does not tack while the wires are too wide, yes, you can cross that bra off your list--it does not provide enough projection in relation to width.
Your lying-down breast perimeter is really not large enough to indicate a need for a very large cup; what you need is a cup that is a good match for your anatomical shape, narrow and deep. Polish bras or, if you can track them down, French full bust lines such as Empreinte or Lejaby Elixir would fit you well. There is a lot more knowledge on this site about the Polish brands so that might be a better start for you, but if you're interested in French bras I can try and help you out.
Since you wear a 36 band you are also in-range for the nicer nonwired bra options--Elomi, Goddess, Elila, etc. They are quite full coverage but they are comfortable and offer great uplift in the right size. If you are nursing or weaning, or gaining or losing weight, non-wired bras are great to have in your arsenal because they are so much less finicky to fit--there is no cup width issue to worry about. I certainly don't wear them all the time but I love having them as an option.

Thanks for your detailed feedback. I am on the fence about keeping this bra since the gore does tack. Thanks also for the suggestion of nonwired bra options - I'll need to look into the nonwired styles offered by those brands. I've been wearing nonwired nursing bras for almost 2 years and those do not provide great uplift or shape for me, but I will definitely look at the brands you mentioned.
Thanks again for your help!

Glad to help :-) Yes, many of the nursing bras out there err on the side of poor uplift/shape because they use very elasticated fabric to accommodate changes in size. Non-nursing designs are a completely different story. Fabric are quite robust especially if you are careful to choose seamed (as opposed to seamless) styles.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will look into the Polish brands.
