Natori » Feathers Contour Plunge Bra (730023) » 32DDD 32:6
Issue resolved
Decided just not to keep as I couldn't figure out the fit
Original problem
This officially is the only bra that "fits" that I have tried on so far and I was really excited initially. After actually wearing it for a day under clothes though, I'm not sure that it is perfect. I can't place it exactly but I think the cups go up too high or maybe the straps are too far apart? It just sort of irritates my upper arms/armpit area, especially when I am sitting down and leaning forward in any way, which apparently I do a lot. I had to take it off midday. I'm having a heck of a time finding a bra that fits so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

helpfulThis type of design is really popular right now (triangular overlay over conventional molded cups) but as you are probably experiencing, it's too tall for some people. You don't appear to have much flesh in the armpit area either so I don't think we can blame that--some people have quite a lot of breast tissue, muscle or fat there but you look fairly "hollow" in that region, unless the photos are misleading.
There is a small possibility that it's a bona fide sizing issue though. I notice the band stretches to just 31" which for some people with your torso measurements could be too tight. In addition, the wire might be too wide for you (not something we can see from the photos due to the opaque cup, but still possible). If you really like this bra style/model and want to see if you can troubleshoot it through changing sizing, you could try to wear it with an extender to see if that makes a difference; if that fails try on the same bra in a smaller cup size (again with extender).
If it turns out that the sizing is fine, you will have to look for bras that have lower side wings i.e. are not cut quite so high in the underarm area, and you will probably want to avoid this kind of faux-triangular, overlay design altogether unless you can find a model designed with a lot less height.

helpfulIt looks a smidge too large. The wires look a bit wide and tall. The straps being far apart is additional evidence of this. Perhaps try 32DD? If that's too small, it's probably the style.

Or maybe you could try a 30DDD. The straps and cups aren't that wide on me. If the band is tight I would wear an extender. It's better than feeling the straps in your armpits.

helpfulbecause the band on this bra runs small I would try an extender. That might help the straps feel more centered instead of wide.

when i tried this on at nordstroms with a fitter, she said they ran really small, so i usually wear 32D in natori and i fit into a 32DD...
