Bra fitting help » Wires are too wide and I can't fill the bottom!
Panache » Jasmine Balconnet Bra (6951) » 34K 34:15
Issue resolved
I give this bra one more chance in a 32K! Guess it's time to list this one.
Original problem
I don't feel very supported in this bra. I feel I have to adjust the straps almost all the way to get the support and lift I need, and when I do the sides of the bra dig into my underarms. The band is on the stretchy side. I started to get that uncomfortable riding up feeling and had to move it to the second hook after only 20 minutes of wear. The wires are WAY too wide for me and almost reach around my back! And because the wires are too wide, I have trouble filling the sides and bottom of the cup. I end up having a lot of wrinkled fabric there.
I don't know if sizing down a cup or band will help fix these problems or not. This is the closest fitting bra I have owned, other than the Ewa Michalak Sm Trefl 80JJ (now quadboobing in that sadly).

helpfulIf you look at my pictures and review for 32K, I have the same issues. In my case the band is definitely too big on me even though for the first time I get to be in a 32K for once, which is my best band size. The band is too big, the cups run about one cup size big, the wires hurt like hell because they're too wide and hard, the material is too stiff and makes the band even more uncomfortable. The wire length is too long and pokes under my arms. You can try a band and cup size down but I doubt this bra will ever be comfortable. I also get indents from this bra because I have high set boobs and have to yank the straps up to maximum. it's just not supportive enough because the band is too big and the cup is probably a little big but for me if I go any lower in the cup I will spill out.
I'd recommend trying a 32K and if you still feel a lack of support and are not quadboobing yet even trying a 32JJ- if you really want to try again but I've personally given up on this bra. My favorite bras right now are from Bravissimo but they're pricy. I wouldn't mind selling my Pretty as a Pinup bra but it's got nursing clasps again lol. Anyway good luck!

I recommend the balconettes. I feel like the boudoir Beau ran a size too small now that I have other experience with their other bras because I wear a 34K in the full cups but I have to wear a 36K in the balconettes. My favorite bra right now is the Tartan Fling and it's sisters are the Marguerite bra and the Vintage Haze and I think Candy Bliss bras but last I looked they were nearly sold out of those but I'm positive their new balconettes share similar shapes.
I'm about to try the Floral Haze and Betsy Bow bras and another Boudoir Beau in 36K when I get the money. I'm fairly confident the Betsy Bow is the same exact shape as the Tartan Fling but I suggest you email their customer service asking what are similar shapes to the ones I mentioned - they're usually able to direct me to other models.
I also like my Dotty Spot bra well enough and am able to wear it in a 34K even though it's a balconette but some people find it too pointy. I fit really well in their full cups like Pretty as a Pinup /Rosie bra/ Melrose bra which all share the same shape... but I dislike the shape because it doesn't have a lot of lift but it fits so well! I know I'm all over the place here but I hope this helps somewhat. Sorry if I have an immense amount of typos, I am on my phone.

I would also sadly say giving up on this one is the best bet, most likely.

xelestial Oh no, thank you for all the suggestions! I now have a whole list of bras I need to try next. xD I'll definitely ask them too! Yeah, I tend to like the round/lifted shape more than the pointy shape, but I guess beggars can't be choosers if it fits well. Don't worry about typos, I understood everything very clearly! :)
bmille40 I'll give it one last try in a 32K before I give up completely. Gotta at least say I gave it a fair chance! :D

helpfulI don't think the straps are too tight on you. Especially if you do a two finger tests and have indents. I hae some slight cub on my shoulders and straps came make indents in my fat. lol. I think they are only tighten about half way, but that the bra is the wrong shape and style. Have you tried an S or Pl from Ewa Michalak with your narrow roots? I feel like we have similar breast shape and size. You can look at my 80L and other Ewa to compare and see how they fit. It is slightly too big on me, comes up high on my chest, but I think you have more breast tissue than me. I would suggest Ewa S or PL, since they come in bigger cups than the SM or BM.

xelestial I think could also add some insight, she has similar boobs. :)
-
Do I ever. I actually thought it was me because it looked similar on her as me at first glance lol. I will add my two cents :)
-
Also yes to the S style EM suggestion. Never had any success with Pl so can't personally recommend.
-
Sadly I've only ever tried the SM Trefl. ): I absolutely loved the narrow wires on it, but the band felt too loose in an 80JJ (altered it to fit tighter). I like the look of that 80L though! I've been hestaint on ordering from Ewa's website, because it'd be my first time ordering there and I don't know how the return/exchange process works if the bra you get doesn't fit. Also the cost of shipping overseas, lol.
-
Yeah I've ordered from them twice and I'm hesitant to do so again but I'm gearing up to make another order. I suggest you try a 75 band in EM but it's possible you're going to need a custom size (I hope not for your sake because you can't return them but they are REALLY easy to resell compared to other bras). The returns aren't bad but you have to be on time with them and I think they give you two weeks. You could try a 75K to start with like I did and then go from there since that would be returnable (but it's probably best just to resell if you can)
-
I hope I don't need a custom order either. D:
I always check to see if there's any up for sale here, but I guess I'm just gonna have to gather the courage to make my own order, lol. -
Reselling is the best bet, I just got suckered into buying a SM and a BM off someone on Facebook yesterday. That shipping back is killer.
-
Yeah, it was $16 back for me...And I know that there's at least 4 or 5 of us around the same EM size that would probably purchase it.

helpfulYes, the wires are huge on you and the band is a good couple inches too long. It isn't immediately obvious in these photos that it's too deep, but I think that's because you're tightening the straps till your eyes pop out--not a good solution! Try a 32K or 32JJ.

Ah, I forgot to mention I have these permanent indents in my shoulders from wearing ill fitting bras for so long in my teens. The straps tend to settle there and look like they're digging in. Because of that I tend to do the two finger check on the straps a lot just to make sure I don't over tighten the them. I can take a photo with the straps fully loosened to show how they settle into my shoulders.
-
OP absolutely should not be in a 32 -- that's 5 inches below her loose ribcage measurement! If she can try a cup down that'd be good. The reason the band seems too loose is because the cups are too wide.
-
I disagree. This band runs stretchy and her comfortable ribcage is 34. Also people with squishier ribcages can generally go down a size if they feel comfortable. I have the 32K in this exact bra and I ended up suggesting the same exact sizes. Normally a 30 band would bother me but in this bra I could wear one, and it'd probably only be too tight for me at a 28 if they had one. My ribcage is about 30 inches.
-
KikuYamae I wasn't referring to your shoulders' appearance on the photos, I was referring to the fact you said in your OP you "had to tighten the straps almost all the way" to get lift. I was saying that if a bra doesn't work when they are loose enough to be comfortable, it is not worth bothering with!
teremaailma I am not saying she needs to be in a band that measures 32 inches. I am saying that THIS bra in a SIZE 32 BAND would be better, because it runs so big and the data here on Bratabase shows that the bands on the Panache Jasmine 32JJ and 32K measure 34.0 and 34.7 inches respectively, close to her comfortable underbust measurement.
-
I'm sorry! I totally misunderstood what you were saying! I understand more clearly now though! Thank you very much!
-
No problem :-D It's very typical for those of us with bigger boobs to acquire the habit of automatically tightening straps to the max (due to years of wearing too-big bands which force us to do this as it's the only way of getting uplift). Then it takes years to shake the habit!

I think I might try a 32K just in case. At this point I do feel like I might give up on Panache entirely. The cups are always too wide and too tall. What Bravissimo bras do you recommend? The only one I've ever tried is the Boudoir Beau I bought from you. xD Quadboobed in that one too, lol.
